  1. I have a website saved at home where you can buy blank t-shirts for about $2 each (Hanes/Champion). I had thought about contacting an art student from a local college and asking them to design something and hire them to silkscreen the shirts....

So please post a pic of the OOT bag you are (or did) going to use. Here is the one that I already have bookmarked: Welcome to Ailana Kai All of the links I have saved are at home. But if you search on here for OOT bags, you'll find a bunch of photos/seller information. For us, we did the pink harrington tote bags that Jilly posted. But there's another site referenced on BDW where they are now cheaper. When I bought them (and Jilly too), we got the lowest price I found, but they've dropped in price even more now on a different website. For the man bags, I found a place that had small shoulder backpacks for guys and bought some really nice ones for about $2.50 each. I know I posted pictures on BDW of all the stuff, but I can't re-post or list any website information until I get home tonight...
  3. These look great! I'm still going thru them, but gotta say--- love the photo with "The Inconvenient Truth" showing!!!!
  4. Is there any way to put them on separate boat rides without having to choose which one to take with you? Kind of like, you ride early with your bridal party, then a second boat ride for half the guests and a third ride for the remaining guests? (without having a huge additional expense for doing an extra boat ride)... I was going to say also, I know Ann had a great experience with the WC for Las Celatas. If you felt comfortable talking to them, maybe they would have suggestions for how to deal with transportation. Worst case scenario--- Stick a sign on the boat to greet them that says "Keep to your own corners. I have a secret agent on this boat who will throw one of you overboard if you come within 10 feet of each other!"
  5. Welcome back and congratulations Lisa! Glad to hear the weather was so good---- August is such an unbearable time up here!!!
  6. One of the things I thought of, were photo cufflinks of his dad (to be given to him in private that morning). He dad passed away 3 years ago and they were really close. One of the reasons why we're doing a DW is because it would be too hard for him to get married in the church without his dad presiding over the mass (his dad was part of the mass for all of his siblings when they got married). So I know he'll like having something of his dad real close to him during the ceremony....
  7. We're doing a 'relax, it's a beach vacation' thing with ours--- We bought totes for the ladies and backpacks for the single guys (both in wedding colors). Inside, we have a beach towel, a margarita glass with an individual packet of margarita mix with our name/date on it, we'll probably get travel size tequila to include with that also if it's cheap enough when we get to MX. Then I created some crossword puzzles about Mexico, find a words that are related to the two of us, a maraca pen, a beach themed notebook, wedding colored candles, bath salts,... a bottle of sunscreen, a can of after-sun care, then we'll include some regional information in each of them too. The single men are getting "man-whore bags"---- beach towel, margarita stuff, a sheet of pick-up lines in Spanish, condoms, and we're thinking we might include a little fake syringe with a note that says something like "pickup cure for Mexico"... granted, the handful of guys who would get these bags happen to be the best friends of the groom--- but I still think it's funny...
  8. We're using Honeymoon Wishes also, and the initial reaction we got from family/friends when they saw it on our website was that they were really excited about it! They thought the idea of purchasing "memories" instead of items was such a cool concept---- his siblings immediately started thinking about whether they wanted to get us horseback riding time, or swimming with dolphins, etc... They were probably more excited about it than we even were!!
  9. Jamey- check this place out---- they have good prices on custom frames, will include a free mat for the print, and they do acrylic instead of glass (acrylic provides non-glare and doesn't break like glass does)... Picture Frames and FREE Mats from American Frame
  10. I think it's a great service to offer and I checked the $150 price range because I know things are higher priced in California than other parts of the country. So when Tammy said she paid $100 (and she's in Michigan), then I'd say $150 as a base price for a certain length of time (either based as slide count or time count) and then establish pricing tiers (like $25 for every 5 slides/5 minutes type thing)...
  11. If you have glossy prints, then you need a non-glare glass in the frame. Well, actually, I'm an advocate of non-glare glass anyways, regardless of print type. I always print everything with matte finish. But if you are printing them yourself, just make sure that if you use matte finish, the color saturation quality of the paper is really good. Otherwise, pictures can be dull looking...
  12. I'm coming up with some stuff when I search with "textured cardstock" and "burlap cardstock", but nothing that is an exact match. Any scrapbooking stores around you where you could take the photo in and they could order you a sample? That might get you a name for it, which would then help in finding an online source that would be less expensive...
  13. Ann, I just put some info into DHL and I noticed an $85 shipping charge from my address to Julie's, but what I didn't notice until the very end was that it was pricing the $85 with a default transit time of 1 day. Which is overnight shipping. I just went to FedEx website and did an estimate for ground shipping from my zip code to Julie's and it came back with 4 business days in transit for $19.65. The only condition I saw on this is that the package has to include a copy of the invoice in order to avoid delays with customs. All of the options for delivery by the end of this week were the higher charges. The only thing is that if you ship from FedEx, it might be good to call your local FedEx station and find out what needs to be done to ship to Canada before you drop off at FedEx. Their website didn't have a ton of available information, but it did mention things like receipts for customs clearance, etc...
  14. I don't know if I'd do postal service without requiring a signature on delivery. The reason I say that is because FI runs a call center that delivers using USPS and they constantly have a problem with tracking numbers. The postal service will assign a tracking number to the pallet of packages, not individual packages. So, people see a tracking number and when they call the post office to find out why it didn't deliver, the post office will see the pallet of items being delivered to the local post office, but that's as far as they can pinpoint it. His company winds up having to re-ship items for free all the time because of it.... Let me dig around and see what I can do for shipping options. Ann, can you PM me your address and that way I can pinpoint estimates more accurately. If I can't find a reliable company to ship for cheaper, then our next option would be to send them as close as we can to the border and then ship across. But let me see what I can do... I might be able to use a corporate shipping account with DHL or UPS and that might reduce the charges more...
  15. Julie, those are great!!! The pic of your niece in her "princess dress" is adorable!!! Little people are just so damn cute!!!

However, I am freaking out a little bit on shipping costs. I was about to head out to ship them - but I decided to go to DHL and UPS to estimate cost - and YOWSERS! It was anywhere from $80-120. Can this be right? The package I got says $20.7 pounds - so I put the weight in to estimate at 10 lbs, since you each get about 1/2 the order. There is a UPS 1 block away - so I can always run over there just to be sure that's an accurate estimate - but I wanted to check here first to see if that sounded right to you all. Maybe that is what you all expected! Not sure I did ... lol Ann, not sure about shipping, but I think Jules might live kind of close to the border? I thought i read something in a post about her going shopping in WA and if there's someone on the forum who lives close to where she comes across, then maybe we can ship to them and Jules could pick them up and take them back into Canada and ship to Courtney from there....

That's the exact same way I did it too---- I clicked the "Send Money" tab, then put in the email address and dollar amount. But now it's saying 2-3 days... I did all this on saturday afternoon.... so maybe Tuesday or Wednesday you should know something? If it isn't showing as a pending transaction on my bank account tomorrow afternoon, I'll call the bank and see if they have received the request for funds from paypal...
  18. send me a PM with what you want (date, names, colors, anything else you can think of) and I'll work on doing one for you tonight...
  19. Hey Ann---- I just checked my Paypal. I really don't use it hardly at all, so apparently when I did the "add funds" to pull the money from my bank account to paypal, I didn't select the "instant transfer", so it's saying it can take 3-4 days for the transfer to complete. But the weird thing is that when I look at the transfer status, it shows "Complete", but the funds haven't moved from my bank account yet. So I'm assuming that means the request is complete and Paypal is waiting to get the funds from my bank. I also did the "send money" and used the yahoo address we've been corresponding through. When I check the status on that, it says the money is "Unclaimed"... since you haven't been notified of the funds yet, maybe paypal is waiting to receive the money from my bank before they notify you? Anyways, sorry this is taking longer than I thought--- I guess I should figure out Paypal before I try using it for stuff like this....
  20. Drea, I'd love to check the website out--- love looking at photos and how everyone puts their sites together!

Something is just wrong with that in that I got more excited about having good knives than anything else. LOL I am so sad...I blame Andrea since if she cooked more, she could also join in on the thrill of having the silly knives and pots and pans. FI was like that---- we registered at Penneys really early on, just to get the freebies they gave out at the time. He groaned about doing "bridal" things, but when we went to the store to pick things out, he was *totally* into the knives. I think if I'd have left him alone with the scanner, we would have had about 4-5 sets of knives and probably not much of anything else.
  22. Doesn't silver tarnish anyways? I thought that was why it has to be polished every once in awhile.... Just curious---- I always thought silver tarnished, but other people tell me it's stainless steel that tarnishes.

To add to this also---- Even if you price rooms thru Expedia/Orbitz/Travelocity, the rates are going to fluctuate based on whether there is a promo being offered by the resort at a certain point in time, how far away you are from the travel date, what the occupancy rate for the resort is, etc... I think you can get somewhat of an idea thru the online resellers, but it still won't be accurate. I do know that when we met with our TA the first time, she was able to provide an estimate of pricing based on the previous year's rates for the same time of year we wanted to travel. But I think this is where a travel agent can help---- if you are working with one, you can give them the price range you would like your guests to fall into and the TA can make resort recommendations for you to look at...

I have to go find the other thread now to read about the experience. We were talking the ring the other night and I said something about him being excited to wear it for real. Well, as the conversation evolved, he basically said he's ready to get married now--- regardless of whether it's at the courthouse next week or going to Vegas in a month or two, etc... Guess we need to actually sit down and start coming up with a plan. Well, more like decide which of our 10 plans we actually want to go with. Adamsgrrl: Not sure about designer, but we got it at Jared's. The lady said it was a new design they had gotten in recently. Frank said it grabbed his attention as he walked past the men's wedding band case, so later we went back over to look at bands and that was the one he wanted.

Beach When you stay at one, you can go to the others (or almost all) Don't forget, hotels for adults only are more expensive ! Did this change recently? Higheels: Also, I would say that if you're looking for a really beautiful wedding, be very picky about this place--- their wedding decor flowers tend to be fake (which is why they are so cheap) and they look really cheap. That was one of the huge reasons why we decided to move the wedding elsewhere. Have you checked out Azul Beach? I personally think that place is gorgeous and if we do AI in RM, this will be the place...
