  1. Jennifer Skog is amazingly talented! She was recently a featured photog on blu. Thanks for the read. Her write up is a perfect explanation.
  2. Thanks for the heads up Matt. I too hope they will change this policy. Brides should be allowed the freedom to choose to bring in which vendors they prefer especially if they're paying as a guest (ie. outside photographer flown in).
  3. Fantastic review! Great tips at the end too. I love feeding the fish here in Florida too and always have some bread crumbs just in case You made a gorgeous bride! Beautiful photos!

Main difference btwn Palace & Tropical/Colonial 1. Top shelf liquor 2. Unlimited a la cartes + 3 more a la carte options than the Trop/Colon 3. Palace guests can go to/use anything/eat at the Trop/Colo/Beach/Caribe HI Katie thank you for posting this. So if i understand you correctly I can book at the Tropical instead of the Palace and still get on the Palace property for the ceremony? I had an inquiry on this resort and I can't find rooms right now at the palace for that time frame. Besides I would much rather save the B&G some money on my stay. OK off to go check out your review. loving that Sexy TTD siggy photo too!
  5. Yeah we just got pre-approved for a mortgage so i hope to avoid all this stuff. Did you get pre-approved as well kelly? And who did you go with if you don't mind me asking? We went with Wells Fargo and I'm hoping that was a wise choice. I guess it's just a pre-approval and we could always switch.
  6. As some of you may already know I was a Puerto Vallarta Destination Wedding Bride whom tied the knot at the Riu Jalisco in 2007. Finding this forum was a blessing planning from abroad and I'm so excited to continue to contribute for all our future DW brides. Since then I have followed my passion for photography and now have opened up my own business; Melissa Green Photography. I was based out of Destin (NW Florida) and relocated Oct 2009 to Salt Lake City Utah. I LOVE Destination Weddings and have my passport ready for international travel I would call my style more of a modern photojournalistic approach and I do some traditional poses here and there. I really like to catch the raw emotion of the day. Vivid colors have always been apart of my images and I continue to grow in all the latest editing technology. PM or e-mail me for your own special rate on your destination wedding photography package. I also provide Boudoir photography for the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas areas. My BDW DW package includes: -Travel (airfare & accommodations) - Full day wedding coverage - Fine art coffee table book - Print credit or digital negatives - DVD slideshow set to the music of your choice & Complimentary TRASH THE DRESS session (my personal favorite)!! Contact me with your date as well as resort and I will be more than happy to provide you with a quote for your own special DW photography package. 7. What a sweet baby girl! Congratulations mamma!
  8. Yeah I think everyone has that same experience planning - trying to narrow down to "the one". For me it was hands down the gazebo. I don't know why but when I envisioned my wedding I saw it there. Trust your gutt that's the best piece of advice I could give.
  9. Hey welcome to the forum. Don't worry you have lots of time to plan the perfect Dominican wedding esp now that you've found the right forum Best of luck planning!
  10. Shucks that is a major blow! But hopefully you will find an even better photographer. have you looked at any of your local photogs in NJ that may be interested in a DW? Then at least you can meet in person for consults and it may make the process a tad bit easier. Best of luck and I hope you find the perfect photog :0)
  11. OMG my heart is breaking this morning. I just clicked on the link and I just want to give all the pups that need surgery money and kisses; Bugsy, Peanut and Petey. And I may buy some raffle tickets too for that 1960 corvette!!! Very cool!
  12. Nismo looks so precious and sweet. Who couldn't fall head over heals after looking at that face? is there a site that we can donate to, to help out? Pay day is Friday for myself so I would like to donate some money to help Nismo out. I'm sure every little bit counts. poor lil' fella.
  13. I'm shocked at how unprofessional his email are. Yikes! Sorry you had to deal with this Stephanie. it's bad apples like this that ruin it for the good vendors in this industry. Potential client or not you need to act like a professional business person with class. This dude is a duche - no ands ifs or buts about it.
  14. Great choice for a resort. I haven't been to the palace yet as it was still in construction when I had my own wedding at the Jalisco (2 doors down). it looks very nice though. Be sure to check out our official Riu thread in the PV section. I'm pretty sure we have a couple of Pacifico brides planning in there too. The more, the merrier Just to let you know all 3 of the rius in PV/Nuevo Vallarta share the same wedding co-ordinators and vendors. So if you need any help let us know... we're here to help :0)
  15. Welcome to the forum! I think April or May would be the perfect time for a DW in Punta Cana. I was just there in June at the Dreams resort and it was really humid. But that resort itself is gorgeous especially if you're interested in having a wedding ceremony at the gazebo. The gardens and landscaping is gorgeous. Best of luck planning and let us know if we can help.
  16. Nice! Congrats on eloping and the best of luck. Be sure to check out our Dreams PV thread (although i'm sure you already have)
  17. Love both your dress and your BM dresses! The color really pops and it's perfect for LC.

  20. awe first off I love your siggy photos. ADORABLE! Second, welcome to the forum My DH and I also fell inlove with PV as a setting for our wedding location and got married In Nuevo vallarta back in Oct 07. You should definitely check out the PV sub forum. Tons of valuable info there. Also you have an advantage of having been there. Are you thinking of doing it at a villa or an all inclusive (AI)?
  21. Welcome to the forum Christine! PV is gorgeous, great choice! There are plenty of places for rehearsal dinners. Go chekc out the PV thread I think we already have a few topics on "karen's" and other restaurants. happy planning!
  22. to BDW Diana! Go Oilers! hehe sorry had to since I see your from E-Town
  23. Congratulations ladies on your amazing prizes! Nora; I updated the title of this thread for you as well :0) Hope you don't mind.
  24. I haven't made my mind up on Lydia to be honest. i really liked her at first but she sure whines a lot on showtime and CRIES a ton. I really adore Kevin and Casey. They both crack me up and I'm excited for them to move along in the house. That being said I hope their "off beat" clique wins HOH next week and puts the athletes up (minus Jeff). Chema needs to go this week. She's another whiner and nothing is ever good enough.
