  1. I totally agree Ann, I too, have a strapless and want to avoid tan lines. I saw Victorias secret had this The swim suit color is growing on me. It's a purple isn't it? (reason I ask I think I may be a tad bit color blind) LOL
  2. That sounds great Natalie. Wow 200 people would be one fun party and you get to wear your dress again - BONUS!!! I know it sound spretty bad but I kinda wish I had help from my parents on the wedding. I'm actually shocked they havent offerred to pay for anything, as they are fairly well off. I didn't expect it just thought maybe they would offer and now that I'm realizing how much $$$ its going to cost I'm wishing they would heheh
  3. WOW Jess those are waaay nicer than the ones from web sites even. Fantastic job!!!!! How many did you have to make?
  4. Having a BBQ is an awesome idea! I think I may share that idea with jared. I can see us having a BBQ once we get back with our friends. Good idea and it's not too expensive eiither. i likes.
  5. I love them Sarah - great job. I was thinking of doing luggage tags too but I never thought of when i would give them out. LOL good thing you brought up that welcome letter idea otherwise I may have forgotten to give them prior to the wedding!

Yes, Jared is in the air force and stationed at Eglin AFB. I love it and our house (it's off base) is a block away from the ocean!!! I'm getting very excited. Yep it's by Destin too but I've been told to avoid that area when it comes to spring/summer - too many tourists I guess? My exact date of moving is confusing. I move out of Edmonton March 27; probably going to go and spend some time with my family who live about 4 hours south. But I may have a job lined up in Fort Walton already so perhaps begining of April... for sure by end of April i will be 100% moved in.
  8. Good job Sherri! 2 pounds is SUPER GOOD. I wish i could drop that many pounds in a week Although I did go shopping this week and for once I thought certain clothes looked cute on me (I've lost about 11 lbs total). That has to be the BEST feeling!
  9. I know it seems the AHR are more for the parents to have a big social gathering anyways. Lucky me my parents aren't pushing for one.... but I think if my FMIL had her way - we would have (she emailed/invited 10 of her closest friends for our 60 people wedding). I'm in the same boat Jill - if she's paying for it and organizing it I would but other wise NO WAY! Planning 1 is enough.
  10. ok here is a pic.... it may not even be what i think it is LOL but I thought it was pretty (IMPULSE BUY)
  11. I'd be bitter too!! What a PITA... how long does it take to process?
  12. Anyone not having an at home reception? I don't think we will be having one because everyone will be in Mexico with us (so far). I guess I'm lucky for that matter as I know some of you have some family members not attending your DW's.
  13. AHH never mind above, that was a dumb question! I WILL have to do the paper work in the states but I'll have to look into Canada as well. BOO-URNS
  14. Ann - do you think because I'm moving to Florida I will have to complete those forms too?
  15. Kinda off topic BUT jthis thread got me thinking: that I should become a DW photographer. hehehe It would be sooo nice to be in the sun right now...except for dealing with those Bridezilla types. Maybe I'll stay content with accounting
  16. Jill- Not at all! I don't think that's strange in the least bit. If that's what you have always wanted what a better time than to do it at the same time. I didn't even know there were name changes forms. Where do you get these forms melissa? How long do they take to process? AHH just what i need - more stinkin' paperwork!
  17. Welcome to the forum... try not to stress. We're here to help. I know what you mean by frugal. I try to be frugal but it never works out. hehehehe
  18. Welcome Denise! I don't think $3000 isn't realistic, infact I think it's doable. You're just talking the ceremony fees right?
  19. Early Congrats Lenita on your marriage!!! SO EXCITING. If you're going to miss the forum so much you could always pop in while you're in mexcio - hehhe JUST KIDDING! Have fun!!!!! Can't wait to hear about the reaction to your hot BD pics!
  20. I went shopping this weekend and I fell inlove with this Kimono(sp) type top/really short dress. I bought it and I have no clue what to wear it with. And it's totally not my style to do this type of thing. but I was in the mood for summer/florida shopping and thought it may be a better idea to save it for mexico. Any ideas what to wear on the bottom?
  21. Looks like we will be getting married in Florida legally first rather than Mexico. It just seems much easier and I don't have to worry about lost documents, blood work etc. My friend just recently got married in the DR and they lost photocopies of their passports, birth certificates and drivers licenses. CRAZY and it was through a fed-ex type of agency. She got some compensation for the lost documents but still with all the identity theft goin on lately. I'd be POd. Deb - in regards to your question, if we feel like we're ripping off our guests? No, I don't because I don't think most of them would be able to tell the difference. As we'll be doing our own vows and I don't think people would be able to tell the difference. I don't know if we have to sign anything in Mexico though - I'm assuming not being that there is nothing legal. I think we'll still celebrate our anniversary on our mexican wedding date because to us that will be our wedding day rather than the day we go to the courts and sign the papers.

It's just a part of who I am! - Secondly, I don't like the sound of his last name with my first name - it just sounds weird. - Thirdly, hyphenating our two names just sounds ridiculous. -And last, but not least, his last name doesn't even mean anything to him (according to him!). He knows no one on his dad's side of the family and his dad hasn't been a part of his life since he was young and he has no desire to welcome his dad back into his life. He says it wouldn't offend him if I didn't take his last name, but I think I'd end up feeling really guilty about it. Help me girls! I have a month to make up my mind!! What would you do? : Melissa - did you decide on what you're going to do? I can't wait to be Mrs. Green! It's so easy to spell and pronounce compared to my current last name. Although it does sound a lil weird cuz I'm not used to it.
