  1. Wow Anny you got some kick ass stuff at your dollar store!
  2. I remember giong to Christines when I was there a few years ago and the zoo was a good time as well. Have any of you been to Nikki beach before? If so, what was it like? I imagine it to be very upscale and posh. Is there any dancing?
  3. That's hillarious melissa! Oh gosh.. how did you stumble upon that?
  4. ROFL..... Did he just hijack your computer?? Well this IS a forum so I guess all input is good?? AHAHAHAH
  5. WOW, Lenita, what a gorgeous wedding! I just finished watching the slideshow and all I can say is WOW... oh and congratulations!!! Thanks for sharing your pics. You may have posted the answer to this question before but who designed your gown? I love it. You looked stunning in that dress. Jill did an awesome shot of just the dress alone and I wanted to pause the shot. heheheh Very happy to see that it all worked out for you and Andre at Moon Palace. It looked like a very nice resort. Had you taken a site visit before? Oh gosh sorry for all the questions! Watching that made me soo excited...hehe
  6. Found some tips online for the groom for once :0 hehehe Be there before the bride! Never, ever be late - and make sure your half of the wedding party are on time too, even the ring bearer. Camp out if you have to. Even though it's bad luck to see the bride in her dress, don’t be ignorant of the colours she’s choosing for the rest of her wedding party. It would be a lovely touch if some of your accessories (cummerbunds, bow ties, kerchiefs, boutonnières) complimented hers. Black is a safe bet, but to coordinate shows thoughtfulness. It’s the groom's responsibility to pay for the bride’s bouquet. However, at the end of the evening the tradition is for her to throw it to her guests to help them follow her up the aisle. A lovely touch might be to surprise her with another bouquet as your new wife at the honeymoon suite. Consider an alternative to the tuxedo. Traditionally the morning suit was chosen for a daytime wedding, a tuxedo for an evening. For the modern marriage, a well-cut suit can be an alternative to the tux. At the wedding breakfast – the first meal after the wedding (i.e. usually at the reception), if the wedding guests decide to toast the couple, it is NOT appropriate to join them in the toast – but rather you should acknowledge the toaster gratefully by looking at them and then thanking them after the toast. To join the toast would be to concur with the toaster and shows a lack of humility. As the groom you will be required to make a speech. A few points to remember: Most importantly, compliment your new spouse and don’t be afraid to openly express you affection for her. Then similar praise is due the bridesmaids. Obviously you will thank your parents, the bride's parents and your groomsmen. And if you want to win a few points, make special mention of the bride's mother and how lovely she looks this evening….and don’t forget your own mother either. Obviously “the mates†will be there and all eager to toast your new demise. Remember, this is your wedding night, not your stag, so watch your intake of alcohol. Drunk is not the condition in which to spend your first night of marital bliss. If you are not leaving immediately on a honeymoon, organize in advance what you are going to do for your first night together and if it is to be a hotel, pick a nice one and enjoy using the room service. Remember that you are now a couple and what you want is not necessarily the top priority, be thoughtful and attentive to your spouse’s needs. Don’t forget to return the rented tux before you depart on your honeymoon as late charges can be exorbitant.
  7. LOl I tried that dress on yesterday too!!! Small world. It was not flattering on me one bit!! Too bad it looks really good on a hanger!
  8. I really like that first one you posted Amy with the purple flowers. The tall vases give a really cool effect too. I may have to look into this. Do you use fake or real flowers? Sorry if that's a dumb question.
  9. I don't know about getting my make up professionally done. I got my make up done at grad and I looked like a clown. I was VERY upset and had barely any time to take it off and apply new stuff. Ever since then i've been afraid of those make up artists LOL I am getting my hair done either at the salon or one of my girlfriends (who is a hair dresser) may be there. But it's still unkown because she may have an opportunity to go to a hair show in England! i feel bad for her because she is really torn between the wedding and show
  10. Welcome back Lenita!! I'm sure my FH would be asking the same thing... LOL
  11. I agree kate that the anticipation of seeing one another will be more fun if you don't see eachother that day. I'm def doing the girls night now... my MOH wants it and I think it could be alot of fun. AHhh I love Mexico and I'm so pumped!!
  12. Ooo good idea Glenda. I'll think about it... i just have so much stuff on the go with moving and everything When are you planning on ordering them? they look really nice and Jared has mentioned numerous times he needs a fancy watch. This would be PERFECT!!
  13. I guess it would be hard to say something... but I can't stand those types of remarks. It's funny because people are supposed to be "professional" those comments are not professional.... Hopefully it gets better for ya!
  14. Your invites look fabulous Ann! I really like them and you've given me inspiration to do mine on my own like this. I'm going to try and get a sample from Papel. I love the color of your ribbon Christine. I need to find some nice ribbon on clearance like that!! I'm always making home-made cards for Bdays and Thank you's. It's a great finishing touch! keep up all the amazing projects girls!!!
  15. Fantastic job Sarah! It's amazing how good those fake flowers from Homesense look. I was out there last weekend and some of their flowers looked better than REAL ones!
  16. Wow you must be so excited!!! 19 days left, that's crazy! I think the hair pins would look beautiful and quite elegant. Do you have any Chatters hair stores in Ontario? I'm sure you do... they have some really nice ones you may want to check out.
  17. Great story! Thanks for sharing!! Do you have any pics from the engagement? I'm sure the gazebo and the lake was the perfect setting!! awwwwwwwe
  18. First and foremost welcome to the forum!! Looked at your pics and I love your dress. The colors look great too!
  19. I love it melissa and you're right, it does make your hair look longer and not as short. Are you wearing anything in your hair (Tiara, flowers)??
  20. Got some photos from the WC, Andrea, at the Riu Jalisco. We are renting the "Bar Bahia" after our dinner for the dance. Anyone have any ideas on how I could decorate this place?? it looks pretty bland to me!! LOL
  21. Who is it that you're flying through Kim? West Jet?
  22. For you ladies getting shot glasses... how are you giving them out? Per room or OOT bags? I'm thinking it would be a good idea for my guests to use. We each have 4 bottles of liquor in each room at the Riu. Could be dangerous LOL
  23. Except for being a flower girl twice, this is my first time in a wedding party. What happens at the dinner rehearsal? Like is there any speeches or practice to see where everyone sits? I am totally CLUELESS! haha
  24. Looks like a fun time! I would be thrilled to find an invite to my party in my mail box. How very sweet!
