  1. Ok - so in order to look our best, what should I be getting done and how early in advance should I be doing it? I've only ever had one facial, but I'm thinking that I need to get one at least three months out - do you then get one every month b/f the wedding? I'm also thinking about doing the teeth whitening thing - from the Crest white strips. Should I start doing that six months out?
  2. I'm not too worried that a hurricane will happen around the time we'll get married - I'm just feeling bummed b/c one of the "cons" of EDR is that a hurricane destroyed the beach there two years ago - I was hoping that by this time next year (sans hurricanes), the beaches would be in better shape. But another hurricane might just put back any efforts to improve since then... Regardless, you can't plan for everything, so I'll just go with it - I just don't want my guests to be disappointed.

So hopefully, you won't need an option B but if you do, there are experienced people ready to help you. Hopefully, all will be okay though!!!! I should have purchased the travel insurance......
  4. I'm not planning on putting it on our bag - I think I'll just put it on a tag on the handle, maybe?
  5. I'm getting married at 5:00 pm in April in the Riviera Maya. Dinner will start at 6:15 and dancing will be from 9 - 11.
  6. I never thought I would want to do a BW session, but after hearing all of the positive things you have to say about it, now I'm inquiring for more information!! I've written to two local BW photographers, but I haven't heard back from them yet - maybe it's a sign - yikes! Anyway, how many outfits do you need for one of these sessions? My goodness - I have yet another reason to get myself to the gym tomorrow am before work!

Is it possible to have it on a location that is not one of their gazebos? We're going to get married in the chapel. That can accomodate up to 80 people and so far, we're at 40. I think you can do the secluded beach thing - check with Monica.
  8. We're having a Welcome Reception (with the donkey) the night before the wedding ceremony. We're planning on getting married the following day at 5:00 pm then having the "free wedding reception dinner" at 6:30. Since people will want to dance, we're going to have a mini private reception (2 hours) by the beach outside in front of the casitas - they're going to charge us $8.00/person for this. We'll still have to pay $250 for the sound system and $240 or so for the dance floor if we need one. I am noticing that the little fees are really adding up, but there's little we can do about it - goodness knows I've tried, but we really have no leverage anymore. I've decided to stop stressing about it, though, and just go with it. All of the EDR brides who have got married there only have positive things to say, so I'm hoping that in the end, I won't care about how much money we've spent. I just want everything to go smoothly and everyone to have one of the best times they've ever had at a wedding. :-)
  9. Hi Bre, Welcome, welcome, welcome! I'm an EDR bride, as well - you're lucky to be getting married there so soon! (I wish our wedding were tomorrow!) And to have someone from Matt and Sol's studio - that's awesome! Let us know if you have any questions! Jennifer

    Hi

Hello there and Welcome!! You will love this site - the brides (and grooms) to be offer so much helpful information, it's hard to keep up!
  12. I'd totally be interested in talking to you about doing one for us if it were in the $100 price range or so. Go for it!
  13. Welcome, welcome, welcome!
  14. I FINALLY now see how you girls keep up with all of the new posts! This "First Unread Post" button is wonderful!! I've been engaged since January and on here from time to time (more time recently) and just figured this out by finding this post! Now I'll try something else.... Oh, this is fun....
  15. My parents will be paying for the AHR and FI's parents will pay for the DJ and flowers for the AHR. Otherwise, FI and I are paying for all of the DW stuff. I hope we can stick to our budget!!
  16. Hi Melissa and Welcome from another DC-Metro area bride-to-be! You will absolutely love this forum!
  17. I never even thought about having eBay e-mail you when something you like comes in - that's an excellent idea! thanks so much for showing this to me - i was having the worst time trying to find something i liked for the welcome dinner. now, after i try it on and see how it looks on me, it could be a different story, but at least right now i love it! thanks again!
  18. I booked Miguel to do our video. We're just having him for 2 hours and getting a 30-40 minute video of the ceremony and "videostudio by the beach." It's going to cost us $550.00. They offer a longer time (4-5 hours of camera time w/ a 60 minute video) for $850.00
  19. I'm actually using Claudia for my wedding. However, I have heard excellent reviews of both Erick and Citlalli. Claudia's website also shows samples of each of her associates' work. I'll try to find the reviews from other DW brides of Erick and Citlalli. The sunset response confuses me. Claudia is really nice and accomodating, so I'm not sure what she meant by that. What time is your ceremony scheduled for?
  20. Now I'm going to have to look into this whole DIY thing if you girls make it sound so easy.....thanks! (I think) :-)

Heidi, are you offering? :-) I did think that I would be able to make them myself, but I am SO artistically challenged and I have no patience. I might be able to do the invites, but what about the response cards? That seems too difficult for me to do!
