I'm working w/ Monica, but all of the other girls that I know of have been working with Valeria and all have said positive things about her. Are you going to have guests? I got engaged last January, so I've had plenty of time to plan, but it's time now to kick things into high gear. If you're planning on having a photographer that's not the one offered by EDR, you should probably try to get that arranged as quickly as possible. We're using Claudia Rodriguez (and her husband for the videography) - her pictures seem awesome and she fits more into our budget. Otherwise, we've selected the location for our Mexican Welcome Reception, ceremony (chapel), and private reception after the "free dinner." I've also ordered extra chairs and chair covers and bows for the chapel, but otherwise, most things don't need to be selected until 60 days out from your wedding date. Oh, if you're having guests, you'll probably want to get the save the dates and invitations out pretty soon, too. :-)

You ran 10 miles?!? You don't need to diet! If I ran that much, I'd be eating my normal 2500 calories/day! But sorry to hear about your knee...hopefully it was just a little overworked and will be back to normal after some rest. -
Hi Suzy! Welcome and Congrats! I might be seeing you there! I'll be getting married there on the 23rd! How's your planning coming along and which coordinator are you working with?

I'm so glad you highlighted this post! Today has been the first day of trying to lose some weight -- i've been engaged for a year now and haven't had ANY success in losing weight - in fact, I've gained! Now that my wedding is just 4 months away, I've got to kick things in high gear! I think that having my first dress fitting in the middle of February kind of slapped reality in my face......yikes!! I also want to do a BD shoot, so I really need to get this weight off! As of now, I"m just trying to eat less, start to work out about three days a week, and quit coffee and sodas, and drink lots more water! -
EDR reception location help!
jfwolfe72 replied to SheaS's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Aaahhh....that makes sense......well hopefully whichever location you choose will turn out to be perfect - it should be! All brides that I've heard from that have gotten married at EDR are always very happy w/ the final results! I can't believe both you and Bre will be getting married there in a few weeks! Good Luck - I just know it will be great!! -
EDR reception location help!
jfwolfe72 replied to SheaS's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
The coordinator that I've been working with, Monica, highly recommended Gaviotas for me for our private reception. We're also doing the free dinner reception at El Cocotal and then just having drinks and dancing (and probably the cake) at Gaviotas (for 2 hours) after our dinner. I haven't heard of the Health Bar as an option, but from what I heard about Gaviotas, that sounded nice. -
Hi - I'm pretty much doing the full blown reception as though it were my one and only. I'll be wearing my DW dress again and we'll be doing most of the traditional stuff. We're actually not going to be doing too much of the traditional stuff at the DW, though. A friend of mine will be taking the pictures at the AHR (she's working on becoming a professional photographer) and we hired a DJ, are doing the flowers, etc......We also didn't really want to do anything too fancy, but my parents (who are paying - that's the only reason they get this much say) insisted.....

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! You two make a wonderful looking couple!! And to have Elizabeth Medina AND another great photographer photograph your wedding is just wonderful. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous! If I haven't said this before, congrats on your marriage, too! Did you also happen to write a review about your whole EDR wedding experience that I may have missed somehow?

My Turn for Shoe Help!
jfwolfe72 replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I LOVE your ceremony shoes! I also voted for the Dr. Scholl's for the reception - they're great looking and I always now go for comfort!! I'm going to see if they have a pair of those in ivory! -
If I am just planning on sending save the date magnets w/out a letter or anything else to accompany it, is that appropriate? I can't remember if the save the date magnets I've received to other people's weddings included anything but the magnet. If anyone has done this, where did you get the envelope for the magnet? Thanks!!

Haha.....I just showed your letter to my FI and I guess he proofed it too b/c he pointed out the "wold" misspelling! :-) How cute is that? I told him that the "girls" already got that one, but you'd appreciate his help, too. Since we're getting married at EDR, too, we might use a letter like that. Do you have a template that I could use to create one of our own?
