  1. It's time to focus. Now that my Diet Dr. Pepper next to me is empty, I'm going to force myself to drink water!
  2. Alright ladies, so here's my next big questions. What undergarments does everyone recommend? I'm wearing a strapless, full bridal gown...I don't have the largest chest and I would like to at least have somewhat of one in my dress (obviously not inappropriate cleavage but some nice showing of the ta-ta's)...So what has everyone had luck with or already purchased?

Keep your chin up.. It'll be worth all the hard work in the end. Ack! Nutrisystem! Been there, done that...Not sure if you've already been on the program or what success you've had, but Nutrisystem made both of us incredibly sick.

Shipments have a tendency to get stuck in customs and a lot of times they don't make it to their destination. When you bring it with you, the boxes are searched. You also don't have to pay for extra fees or taxes that you do when you ship them. Quote: Originally Posted by chrisnessa I was going to send stuff with people under 150 each so we could get it in. We have a lot, and I mean A LOT, of stuff that we're bringing down. So we've already enlisted the help of certain family members and friends who are going to lug an extra piece of luggage with them. 5. As an FYI, in the event that anyone ever searches the forums for answers about Carlson Craft invites, I will say that our invitations were gorgeous. They arrived and we pretty much ripped the box open to get a look at them. The quality is fantastic! We also took advantage of Carlson's guest address printing service (expensive but well worthwhile) and that was fabulous as well. We added a personalized touch to our invites with organza ribbon which made a huge difference and all of our guests are still talking about how gorgeous the invites are...And they received them weeks ago. So again, thank you everyone for your input.
  6. I realized just now that I never posted a follow-up to my original question, including what B and I ended up doing. Long story short, we made the decision to have both our welcome and rehearsal dinners at the resort. We realized that, because many of our guests are coming from Saturday until Tuesday, it would be somewhat nicer for them to be entertained at the resort without having to worry about leaving. So hopefully, despite the absolutely horrendous track record that Dreams has, everything will work out for the best. Oh, and DeSantos is wonderful. Their event coordinator, Sandra, was fantastic while we were corresponding!

  8. Brooke and I decided to get married at LC for a multitude of reasons: a) Our wedding location was based upon our honeymoon and it ended up being PV. We wanted to get married on a beach. c) But the very nice resorts in PV wouldn't have any type of ceremony for us because they're a "family resort"...So we did some research and found LC. d) And it was the pure beauty of the place shown in the photos that we saw that sealed the deal. e) Until we talked to Nicole for the first time and both felt like she was a family member - not our wedding coordinator...Which then double-sealed the deal for us. =) 59 days and counting.

Sorry, I am sure that did not help you at all. lol As I sit here staring at an unopened can of REGULAR Mountain Dew (I haven't had a regular soda in I can't even tell you how long!), I understand the lack of motivation problem. I think I'm going to have to join the work-out forums and get a buddy in order to do this. (This is Gen - Brooke usually reads and doesn't post. So if you see a post, chances are, it's me!)

Nicole has been great to work with, although we have a little ways till our wedding she has been great about getting info to us. More and more couples Im finding are finding out about Las Caletas. So excited we did too. Please give me any feedback about the customs and entering the country situations you might have encountered. Love the pics as well. For the tables we are having: on the beach in a U shape, table runners...Nicole is getting for us, sea fans along the length, white flowers down the middle, candles everywhere, blue beads and white & frosted sea shell ice, we asked all our guests to come dressed in all white, we also will be having a semi circular seating facing the beach for better viewing of the wedding, we are having between 100 - 150 guests. We opted for the CD player and are using the Mariachi band for an hour. Hoped this would enable us to have the music we all enjoyed. Fire dancers, hopefully cigar rollers if they can get that worked out. We are having them make a cake in light blue icing with seashells trickling down the cake. Dragees are being used for that. Not sure how this is working out but wanted to try a nicer cake if possible. Its hard knowing everything as we havent visited the island yet and of course this is something we've both looked forward to doing in our lives, hopefully with Nicole's help and the brides before us we can make this beautiful wedding atmosphere as romantic as we envision it. But as we all know just being with him is enough when we get down to it. Thanks for the comments and pics. So helpful. Well Brooke and I realized that we have quite a bit of stuff that we need to bring to Mexico with us in November. Quite a bit. We had originally entertained the idea of shipping it, however, we realized after doing research that the cost of shipping it was actually more expensive than the cost of bringing it all on the plane with us. We are flying American Airlines and I spoke with an agent to figure out what our limitations are. We can each bring 2 bags on the plane at no charge in addition to one carry-on. Then, we can each bring three bags or boxes on the plan for an additional $100 per bag/box. The bags/boxes have to be under 50 pounds each and cannot have a total dimension size of 62" when added together (height/width/depth). So basically, we're each bringing a carry-on and two suitcases plus three boxes - 6 pieces of luggage per person total! (We HAVE to rent a van to take us to the resort...LOL) We don't have to worry about our shipment getting stuck in customs or having to pay additional fees or taxes. We just have to claim what is in the boxes when we check them in and we're all set. =) As for your setup? Sounds beautiful!!! I cannot wait to see pictures!

  12. Well everyone, the invitations should be shipping tonight and we should hopefully *fingers crossed* be receiving them on Friday! Woo-Woo! Thank you to everyone who left positive remarks on this thread to calm me down. I appreciate it. I hate ordering things offline when you don't know the quality, especially when they're this important! Lizzy - We are planning on ordering a Ketubah. Would you mind sharing your links? =)

Woo-Woo! I can't wait until I see "1 month" on my wedding ticker! And if I could, I'd pass some of these brownies through the computer screen so I could have someone guilty alongside of me. *sigh* To the gym we go.

I'm thinking about doing something DIY and fun with a ribbon and seal to personalize them a bit more....
  15. Has anyone out there ordered Carlson Craft invitations off of the internet? Brooke and I spent quite a bit of time printing and creating our Save the Dates, but when it came time to finding invitations, we cut it a bit too close. After our initial option failed to pan out, we were left in a position where we needed to order invitations very quickly...So, we found invitations that we liked on the web and ordered them. Most Carlson Craft invitations can be seen at card and party stores, however, this particular invitation is in their newest "high-end" line (according to the manufacturer) and is only available through online retailers. So we felt many of their invitations and paper weights, to check for quality, and felt that we were pretty safe. Has anyone out there had good/bad experiences with their invitations if they've ordered Carlson Craft ones?
  16. I'd be pretty irritated with the resort! Since the general rule of thumb is to give your guests at least 6 weeks to respond to your invitation, and you want to get them in before January 18th...Given the holiday season that will be taking place while people have your invitations in-hand, I would send them out in November with an RSVP date of sometime the first week of January. That gives people more than enough time to figure things out and book their trips!

Brooke and I became engaged on October 31st, 2006. We spent a few months making some decisions and sent out our Save the Dates in January of 2007, giving our guests about ten and a half months notice until our November 5th wedding. Ours had our location, but I've seen many out there that just say the date!

Did you know that the new version of the dictionary which was released this year includes that word? No joke!
  19. Everyone has such good advice! Now my motivation should just be the fact that my wedding is so soon....Of course, I'm sitting here eating a huge plate of brownies, which isn't helping! We really need to start going to the gym. REALLY need to start. =)
  20. All of these photo signatures are really making me want to create one. These forums are an obsession!

  23. So my wedding is in 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days...And, let's just say that I've been a little lax on the diet and exercise plan that I had originally put into place in order to lose weight before the wedding. By a little lax, I mean that I haven't done much of anything - and that's a huge problem. Are there any brides out there who waited until the last minute to start preparing themselves for their weddings using diet and exercise? What did you do and how successful were you? Does anyone have any advice? I know, I know...I should've started sooner. =)

I won't even begin to go into it, but let's just say that it's not a pretty visual. LOL.
