  1. LOL, Rachel, it most definitely is a Canadian thing - especially if you are from Saskatchewan. There are very few charters that fly from here to various destinations from Mid-December to Mid-March: 2 charters per week that go to Cancun 2 that go to PV 1 to Huatulco 1 to Jamaica 2 to Cuba 2 to Puerto Plata 2 to Punta Cana Lots of people (not just wedding couples) book their winter holidays a year in advance to guarantee they have a seat on the charter. They don't like connecting flights through Calgary or Toronto, they want to step on the plane here and get off at their destination. There are lots of people that do leave it to the last minute, but often they are left disappointed because they do sell out - and prime dates (most of February and Christmas) sell out by August. It's crazy! Lindsay
  2. LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a "Crafty" husband!!!! My DH was really into planning and helping me make invites/thank you cards/fan programs/favors, etc too! Gotta love when the Martha Stewart comes out in our guys!!! Linds
  3. It was on z99 - the majority of people were saying they wouldn't do it...too many memories, etc....I'd LOVE to do it - I asked DH what he thought of it this morning - I think he thought I was kind of crazy!!! LOL
  4. LOL, Ann, you'd be more than welcome to come down and crash our anniversary trip!!! Actually, I had a thought this morning on the drive in to work - they were talking about trashing the dress on the radio this morning - we never ended up doing a TTD (I know you didn't either Ann), and then i thought it would be SO cool to have a photographer come out to LC for the day with us and do a TTD at LC!!!! Then I thought about a group TTD session/BDW LC Reunion and we can all pitch in to hire Leigh to come down and shoot it for us!!!! I'm crazy and full of ideas, I know, but what the heck??!! Would it be weird to do a TTD 2 years later?? LOL ~L
  5. Yep, we're heading back to Puerto Vallarta in late Feb next year!!! I'm so excited!! Las Caletas is a secluded cove about 1 hour south of Puerto Vallarta. It is only accessible by boat - and the only way to get there is to do one of the day or night tours with Vallarta Adventures (or have your wedding there!) It is a MUST DO when visiting Puerto Vallarta!!! We'll probably do the day and night tour again next year! Linds
  6. Welcome to the forum!!! Let me know if you need any help choosing a destination!!! Lindsay
  7. Thanks Heather!!! It was a challenge finding a BM dress that all the girls were happy with!!! Thank goodness my future SIL is so talented and was able to whip the dresses up just a couple of weeks before we left for PV!!!! The big jacuzzi was on the patio of the bridal suite we had for the day - it was awesome!!! Linds
  8. Heather, I'd just send out an email or if some folks don't have email, you could make up a little 'save the date' type thing - just notifying them of the change in wedding date. Also, post it on your website, and word of mouth always works as well - don't panic too much!!! Linds
  9. i posted in the other thread, but I think turquoise and hot pink would look AWESOME together!!! I'm going to see if I can find the pic!! Otherwise, lime green and that pink look fabulous together too (those are the colors of my kitchen!!!) Lindsay

In fact, I KNOW i've seen some pics from a wedding - the BM's wore turquoise and had hot pink parasols - it was beautiful!!! I will try to find the picture (I can't remember if it was on here or on another forum..hmmmmm.. I'll see if I can find it! Lindsay

See if I can find some excellent deals. ~~ Heather - check out Dollarama for OOT bags - that's where I got ours from, they were just plastic ones - but they did the job - and held up to the two-week holiday just fine...they also have some canvas-y ones there now too. I know the Dollarama in Cornwall has them - not sure about the other ones! I find I'm STILL on the lookout for 'stuff' that would be cool in OOT bags - and my wedding was almost 1 1/2 years ago!!!! LOL I'm obsessed!! I keep saying to DH that I want to do it all over again - and this time get all this cool stuff!! LOL Lindsay
  12. I personally have to vouch for the Travel Insurance as well. I sell it to almost all of my clients (I sell RBC Insurance)... and after taking all of the extensive training and hearing many horror stories, I would NEVER travel without insurance again!! I cringe when my clients decline to purchase the insurance - you just never know when something may happen. If any of the Canadian ladies need to purchase travel insurance for the trip, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me! Lindsay
  13. Heather - I also sent some thank you cards through the mail that had shells on them. Come to think of it, I have no idea if they got crushed or not - the only problem I had was the shells made the cards too thick and I had to pay extra postage because it was an irregular size and wouldn't fit through the slot-thingy they have - and therefore had to be hand sorted. But I think you should still be able to put the little charms on the invites, as long as they are inside the envelope - shouldn't be a problem! Lindsay
  14. TOO Funny!!! Thanks for the great pics Rachel!!!!! Dontcha love PV?? Lindsay
  15. Julia, I had the same question - I can't seem to find it anywhere!!! If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it it too - I want a copy just for fun! (I think you can order a copy online as well though - may have to do that) Lindsay
  16. On another note - I am seriously considering organizing a BDW get together/LC trip for next March - would anyone be interested? I'm thinking we could do something similar to what Tammy (host) is doing in Cabo this year - except do it in PV and have everyone go to Las Caletas!!!!! Anyone interested? Maybe I need to create a new thread! HMMMMMMM (sorry for the hijack! - I tried to find the smiley - couldn't find it!) Lindsay
  17. Make sure you have the rum punch - not sure if they have this during the day tour (I can't remember it) but on Rythms of the night they have it for sure - it is to die for!!!! We requested to have that specifically as our "drink" for the wedding - so Nicole made sure we had lots of it for the reception - and on the boat!!!! Lindsay

  20. Jaime, my dad came up to the bridal casita and walked me down all of the stairs the whole way. He came up there, our photog took some pics with my dad and I and then he walked me down - one of my bm's took my flowers, and I just held on to my dad's arm the whole way down....much better than walking down with nothing to hold on to! Lindsay PS: AWESOME review Rachel - I laughed and cried! Brings back so many memories!

We are doing a quick trip to Reno with my parents this summer and my mom said now my grandparents want to come and my aunt too! I was like wow, this trip inspired everyone to have more group trips! Our wedding did the same thing - since our wedding last February, my family now does everything together - we meet for breakfast every Saturday morning at a local restaurant, we all went camping last August (has been an annual thing for awhile - but now the WHOLE family goes), we went on a shopping trip across the border in November, we are planning another cross-border shopping trip in June, the camping trip again in August this year, and now, a return trip to Puerto Vallarta in February/March next year for our 2nd anniversary. I can't believe how much closer my family has been since our trip/wedding - it's truly amazing Puerto Vallarta/Las Caletas definitely did a number on all of us!! Ann and Rachel - you definitely have to go back to LC when you are feeling 100% Lindsay
  22. I'm so sorry to hear this - I know how scary it is, our golden retriever Haylee has idiopathic epilepsy - and the first time she had a seizure I was SO scared!! I'm glad your pup recovered quickly - let us know what the vet says!!! She's a sweetie! Lindsay
  23. Great pics Rachel - that's too funny about all the girls forgetting to bring underwear! (there's so much else to think about!) Looks like you had a blast - can't wait to read your review and see some more pics! Lindsay

I hope to have some pics to share with all you girls soon. I don't have pro ones yet and I didn't have many pics of the actual wedding- I do have some to share though that I took. Haha I felt so silly, but I was walking around during dinner taking pics of the set up thinking- I need these for the forum girls! I hope some friends sending me some pics of the ceremony. I'm dieing to see something! I haven't even seen one pic of us on the wedding day! Almost 2 weeks and you haven't seen any pics!?!?!?! You must be freaking out!! I know I would be! Lindsay
