Natalie; For my song they just turned the volume down as well - I used Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful world mix (from 50 First Dates) and the song would have been WAY too long for me to stand up at the front until it was over! Jamie - I agree about the paella! I've never had the chicken stuffed with shrimp - sounds delicious! I'm still in for a group vow renewal - any time ladies - just let me know so I can book time off ahead of time!!! LOL Lindsay

haha - we never had any of the appetizers - so I couldn't tell you what they were or what they tasted like at all! We were so busy taking photos that we didn't get to visit with anyone or eat or drink anything until dinner time! The food was excellent - we also had rave reviews and everyone said it was the best meal they had while in Mexico! Lindsay

We used our Ipod for the songs to walk down the aisle to - I had a song for the groomsmen, a song for the bridesmaids and a song for myself to walk down the aisle to. The staff at LC - (I believe it was the boat/tour director that played our music for us - as we didn't hire a dj) - he knew exactly when to switch to whatever song - and I don't think it sounded funny at all, he just kind of faded the music out on the BM's song - then started my music when I was at the spot at the top of the steps where the guests can see you - it worked perfectly - we didn't really worry about timing the songs or anything - it worked really well for us. Just another option for you! Lindsay

Hi Melissa - I'm a TA so I thought I'd put my 2 cents in... I'm guessing the packages you are looking at are for charter flights? A lot of the Canadian tour operators (Signature and Transat/Nolitours) don't start their charter flights to hot destinations until Mid to the end of November (and even later, depending where you live!) I know here in Saskatchewan the charters don't start going until almost the 1st week of December. If you are in TO & Calgary, you can probably get to your destination with Air Canada - but it may not be a direct flight - just depends.... What tour operator are you looking at going with? Sorry, I don't think I'm being much help - that's my best explanation - the charters don't start until late November! Lindsay

We didn't tell anyone about the fire dancers either...heck, we didn't tell anyone about Las Caletas - the entire day was a surprise for all of our guests! It was SO much fun keeping the secret from everyone! The only ones who knew were Ed and I and my parents and his parents! Good choice keeping the fire dancers as a surprise! Lindsay

Hi raisinblur - I've never stayed at the Royal Decameron, but I have clients who have and they are going back again next year (I'm a TA)...they really like it...it is a bigger hotel, and is very active, lots of things to do during the day. It is nice, definitely not a 5 star, but comfortable, clean, the staff are friendly and the food is good (from what I've heard!). It's a great value for sure! I think all-inclusive is the way to go, especially with the large group you are having, that way no one has to worry about getting meals/etc., and if you want to eat out at a restaurant, you can! It's a great, worry-free way to travel! Lindsay

My biggest piece of advice is to bring/have COMFY shoes!!!! I was barefoot most of the night or in flip flops....definitely don't want heels there!!!! Lindsay

PS: TammyB - LOVE your new pic - that is TOO cute!!!

Ok - here's my October siggy - let's just say my pooch Haylee hates this time of year!!!... Lindsay

yep, it's good!!!! This is a great idea - I'm so boring, I never change my pic - so this might be motivation!

Yay I don't have to change mine yet - I think it still qualifies....it's been awhile since I've posted...

You should still have plenty of daylight to get some beautiful pictures in March. We got tons of nice photos and our wedding was in February - the photo in my signature was immediately after the ceremony and there was lots of daylight to get some nice photos. The ocean didn't look as blue as it does in daylight - but you should be ok I think! As for making the time go by faster - no suggestions, the time dragged by before our wedding, then the day of the wedding flew by so fast - so I say enjoy being engaged, because once you are married, time really flies!!! We chose Las Caletas because a year and a half before we had visited LC during the day and at night on the tours and said "wouldn't it be so cool to get married here? I wonder if they do weddings??" and then we got engaged, and I stumbled across the website and found they did weddings. There was no question about it after that - I didn't want the same old "resort" wedding (no offense to any resort brides) I wanted something different. We knew that some how, some way we would get married there - whether we had to rob a bank or take out a loan or whatever - we were determined to make it work! The guaranteed privacy was a big seller for us as well - we didn't want a bunch of gawkers from the hotel (in speedos) in our photos/there during our ceremony! Lindsay

I have to agree with Ann & Jamy, Las Caletas definitely won't be cramped - or make you feel cramped at all! I'm sure they can adjust the chairs/width of the aisle to however you would like it though! My siggy pic shows us at the end of the aisle after the ceremony - plenty of room for two people to walk down.... Lindsay

Welcome to the forum!!! I have been to PV several times, and was married there in February - if you have any questions, feel free to ask! There is tons of good info on here!!! Lindsay

We used Roberto Aceves, a photographer in Puerto Vallarta - he was really great to work with... Lindsay

I think we had 2 or 3 bags of petals for ours - I'm thinking 2 - but I really would have liked more down the aisle...it was just a few scattered here and there - but the table had enough on, just something to give it some color. Jamy - I didn't even know that the aisle could be moved...I liked how our aisle was straight down from the stairs, but I wish we could have had the ocean behind us! I wish I'd have known we could move it!!! (Oh well - just have to have a vow renewal I guess! ) Lindsay

It really isn't a big deal at all! It doesn't smell at all - we have been out to LC several times (including the wedding) and have never noticed it being smelly or anything - the staff keep it very clean and you just don't notice it...it's not a big deal at all - I swear! You can't flush the paper b/c of the plumbing I think. Actually there are several bars/restaurants in PV that ask that you do not flush the paper - you just put it in the wastebasket, and that's it! I've never been grossed out or noticed it smelled. It's a little strange, but really it's not a big deal - just different from what we're used to! Lindsay

We didn't hire the videographer from Las Caletas - we had one of our guests graciously volunteer to record it for us and got a ton of footage! My amazingly talented husband put it together into a really cool video and incorporated photos from our photographer and music and everything - it is sooo cool, I really want to show you girls, but I am having trouble finding somewhere to put it up on the net!! I really want to show you all of my hubby's hard work - he did a fantastic job, and it was cheaper than hiring the videographers at LC (well, maybe not, we bought the video camera for that purpose - but we wanted to buy one anyway!) Lindsay PS: I promise I will let you all know when we get it up on a website to share it with you!

Hi Marla; No, the photographer didn't come with us on the boat in the morning, he came on the boat with Ed and the rest of our guests, so we didn't have any professional photos taken of me getting ready - but my parents and bridesmaids had their cameras, so we got a few photos (nothing as beautiful as Ann's though!!)
