  1. Cute pics! Looks like it was lots of fun! Love the Bride/Bridesmaids tees....so cute!! :-)
  2. Yeah, my first anniversary is creeping up on me...but I'm thinking maybe as a gift for Valentines or something?? That might be fun, right?
  3. My friend Monica is getting married at Dreams...I think she's going to use the resort for her bouquet and whatever else is included in her package. But I know she's thinking of using silk flowers for the BM's and other misc items. She's looking into ordering them from the same place that Lenita (I think it was Lenita?) got hers. I know the link is posted on here a couple times...if you were interested you could do a search on the forum for silk flowers...also I'm pretty sure there are additional pics in Lenita's wedding review. Her photog, Jill, said they looked amazing and that even she didn't realize they were fake until someone told her! :-)
  4. Quote: think there are enough Dallas girls on here... maybe we can get Leigh to come out here sometime (that is, after I muster up the courage... ;P ) I've already been thinking about that!! :-) I know for sure I've got one friend who would be interested. . .and I bet I could find another...somewhere... lol! Serisously though, I've been thinking about it a lot. Although my friend and i have talked about it and we'd probably have to do it either way later this year or in '08...so much going on lately...and so much $$ being spent.... lol!
  5. I don't have the recipie here at work, but my family makes our chocolate chip cookies using the recipie printed on the back of the Tollhouse Chocolate Chip package....BUT, we add about a cup of shredded cocount and about 2 cups of Corn Flakes. Sounds weird, but it's SO good! The corn flakes especially add a cool chewy texture to the cookie. My husband LOVES them and they're kind of psuedo-famous among my friends....even the ones who don't like coconut! :-)
  6. Absolutely perfect!!! I LOVE It!!!! It's amazing that elated feeling and how it just shows up in your faces!! Honestly one of my fave pics from my wedding is the one where we look like total nerds walking down the aisle after the ceremony...but we look like the most freakin' ecstatic nerds that ever walked the earth! Its' great!!!
  7. Love the color you've chosen! I wasn't sure at first about all the different styles, but since they're all the same length I think you could pull it off. Another alternative (in the interest of simplicity) is to choose the two style you like best and have the girls pick from those. As far as the "boob question" goes...anything you can wear a bra with is better! Personally, I feel more secure in a halter top than a strapless and my boobs are average size. But I have a friend who's much larger on top than I am and she pretty much cringes at the idea of having to pull off something strapless. . .not that it's impossible, just something she avoids because it's a lot more work. ;-)
  8. Maybe it just makes you a respectable teacher AND a respectable lingerie model too?! ;-)
  9. Yeah, I agree. How often do you wear a dress w/ a train! You're still the bride - even though you're not being viewed by a crowd. ;-) Wear the train for the ceremony and some pics...then bustle it when you need/want too. I think it will look very romantic. . .
  10. omg! Gorgeous!! You really are quite the little hottie Ms Christine! At one point I was looking at the pics and thinking, "She's a teacher?!?" Lol!! I bet there's boy or two in your schoool with a little "cute teacher crush" on you! ;-) And, of course, GREAT job Leigh! You do are so good at capturing everyone's "inner vamp"!! :-)
  11. I was totally thinking about that! We honeymooned at the Moon Palace and they showed us the filtration system on the way to our room. It was pretty amazing. . .it really is enormous! :-)
  12. Just catching up on the proposal stories! I LOVE this one! How fun!! That hotel is gorgeous too...he picked a great spot! :-) sushi....yummmmmm. lol!
  13. I LOVE engagement stories!! How fun that you got engaged in Mexico and are going back for your wedding! :-) I also love that you bawled like a baby when he asked you! I did too - I was crying so hard that I couldn't say anything. . .let alone the "yes" that he was waiting for. And that was before I'd even seen the ring! lol!!
  14. I'm so excited for you guys!! I can't wait to hear all about and see some sample pics....hint hint! :-)
  15. Lots of good advice here! I would agree, the #1 precaution would be to stay away from drinking the tap water. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend a lot of time stressing about it or over-thinking what you eat. Personally, I think the fruit is amazing in Mexico and I have eaten fresh produce on-site at resorts and off in town areas as well. Live a little! ;-) But I also agree to have some pepto, immoduim etc on hand. . .just in case. And I think putting it in the OOT bags (maybe along w/ some advil for the inevitable hangover!) is a great idea. I'm a big believer in traveling with your own "drugs" anyway...I hate paying triple the price at a hotel for like two tylenol or something! lol!
  16. Quote: Rachelle, I'm leaning towards the cups just because I really can't imagine a 32B would fit me right when she told me I'm a 32C. She said I would just have to pile them in there. Yeah, I think your instincts are right about that one! "pile them in there" isn't really the advice I'd want for my wedding day! Quote: tammy your dress should hopefully fit you well enough that once you add the cups, the support is almost built into the dress. i am a little freaked out about this myself, since the sample fit me weird - i was constantly tugging at it. this was one reason i was scared to get a strapless dress - but i am hoping it all fits well once it's made for me! Honestly, your wedding dress is going to be altered so perfectly for your body that it will probably fit you better than any bra ever would! My dress did have little straps so the cup solution was perfect for me - kept my girls in place and I didn't worry about them at all. A good friend that got married the month before me had a strapless dress and spent ages trying to find a bustier or backless/strapless to wear under her dress...the seamstress finally talked her into the cups and it worked for her too...and she's acutally a 34 large C...sometimes a D. We were both pretty skeptical about it at first but it turned out great. You may want to have them go ahead and baste in the cups when they do all the basting after your first fitting then decide what you really think about it. Once the rest of the dress fits you properly, you may feel more confident deciding to go "sans bra" ;-)
  17. I feel certain I must have seen a 32C somewhere before...because I remember seeing it and thinking, "If I met a 32C girl, I might have to slap her for being tiny and cute w/ good sized boobs!" LOL! (I meant girls that are not Tammy or Ann, of course!) But seriously...I think possibly Gapbody might have that size...although their stuff is typically more functional than cute IMO. But if it's seamless you're looking for, that may be worth a shot. Also, sometimes you can buy sizes online that aren't carried in stores. Maybe VS would have the size/color/style you want through their catalogue or something? But that might just be wishful thinking! Also, you may check out Fredricks (of Hollywood) they carry a pretty good variety of sizes, even some that aren't super common. And who knows...you may find some scandalous wardrobe for your honeymoon while you're at it! Honestly, all that bra drama is exactly why I did the sewn-in cups thing too. Because finding the perfect bra for a wedding dress just seems to be extra difficult. . .'cause that's what brides need, more stuff to obsess/worry about!
  18. Quote: And the cute just keep gettng cuter! My thoughts exactly!! lol! Awesome story! I LOVE hearing how people met, got together, got engaged etc. And apparently I'm turning into quite the sappy girl lately because I totally got a little tear in my eye reading this! Matt cried when Sol left, I cried reading about it... perfect! Great story...and I love that you have pics of the whole engagement! You guys are going to treasure those forever! (side note: I am SO glad we didn't have a photog when David proposed...I was a sobbing disaster! That would have made for some ugly, messy pics! Better that the photog was following the lovely Sol around!)
  19. I totally understand about Cain's mom needing to be there...my boy is the only son too which is a big part of the reason we chose to get married at home. His mom is pretty delicate and can't travel - though she would never have asked us to stay for her. . .I love her...*sigh* :-) Anyway, not the point. The point is that if you think it's going to be better, easier etc. for you to have just his family there...then go for it! I agree w/ the rest of the girls...don't worry about tradition and all that...take advantage of the smaller group and all the fun stuff you can do with just a few people. Be creative and have fun w/ it. Maybe Marty and Aunt can fan you constantly and hold your champagne glasses while you say your vows. lol! ;-) (I totally wouldn't worry about chairs for them, btw. Unless you've got some super long vows...I imagine they could stand with you guys. Just the few chairs facing you might feel funny!) Also, I'm certain the hotel/Maye must have something they can do as far as the witness thing goes. How else to people elope? You know? I can't wait to hear what you decide you want! :-)
  20. Yay! How fun that you guys went shopping!! My DH and I looked a couple places and he eventually went to get the ring on his own. He had sort of combined a couple different ideas I had and it turned out perfect! I think it's definitely a good idea for him to know for sure what styles you like. . .and it's just fun to look at rings!! :-)
  21. Quote: Yes, it is unfair that I found someone as CUTE as SOl.... and as loving....and as talented.... the list goes on for light years.... omg...more of the cuteness... lol! Good for you guys finding each other! Also, I meant to say last time that all the photography tips/reviews from the weddings you've done are great. It's cool to have that info - I think it's safe to say the majority of us don't know to even think of those things! Thanks! :-)
  22. Awesome! That's SO handy to have sisters that can do all that for you. My MOH did my makeup and I loved it! Also, you get to practice a lot with them and they can't charge you! ;-)
  23. Ummmmm, is it just me or is it entirely unfair that Sol and Matt have so much talent and cuteness between the two of them?! lol! Welcome! Your work is gorgeous and I've heard nothing but lovely things about you and your bride! Glad to have you here. Can't wait to see how your wedding develops. Good luck w/ planning!
