Flip Flops with bottle opener?

CUTE! Sounds good to me! Great idea! -
Yeah, I would definitely reccomend Costco...after you make sure they have what you want, of course. We bought the wine for our wedding there and got a great deal. (it was here in the US but still. . .anything's better than hotel pricing)

Lulu's is just a normal bridal store. But it is in a cute little old house! It's right next to a gorgeous antique shop....also in a cute old house. So it looks vintage but they carry all the normal designers that you'd want to see at a bridal shop. They also have a sister store up in Plano called Stardust - it's a little more high end (the whole West Plano thing) I think their dresses start at 1500-2000 and go way up from there. My dress at Lulu's was like $750 or so? And I think they go up to 3-4k at the highest. But Stardust is also very nice - and since it's closer to where I live (and like 5 mins from where I work), they let me have my alterations done there. very helpful! Here's their website: StarDust Celebrations

Quote: Rachelle, you did look beautiful! I love your dress! Thanks!! I loved my dress too! lol! It was a Casablanca. . .I got it at Lulu's in Dallas (on Routh I think). They are awesome there...whenever you start looking, I totally reccomend them! They seem to have a pretty good variety of dresses/designers and price ranges...esp if you're not particularly looking to spend like 5k on it! ;-)

Quote: Hi Rachelle! I am in the Dallas area also... which is interesting because Brian is in Atlanta. He left Texas in March (had to for his job) and will be there for 2 more years. I am definitely open to moving to ATL, but only want to do so once we are engaged and I have a job there. He would love for me to just move there now, but I'm fearful of cohabiting before the ring (because then maybe it will never come?) and would be more confident in moving if I had a great job to be excited about. I LOVE Texas and have lived here all my life... grew up in Fort Worth, went to school in Austin, lived in Houston shortly after college graduation, and now back in Dallas. My family, friends, favorite resturants, malls, hairstylist, doctors... etc (all the important stuff) is here, except him! Hi again! Sounds like you're a Texas girl at heart! :-) I totally understand not wanting to make such a big move w/o being engaged. But it sounds like that's the direction you guys are headed. . .so you may want to start checking out ATL! Lol! You said he's there for 2 more years? Is he planning to move again after that? Back to Texas? Somewhere else? Keep us posted on all the engagement talk! :-)

Quote: Has anyone else had an engraving? I LOVE the idea of getting something that can be engraved. David and I didn't do wedding gifts. It just wasn't that big of a deal to us. But as a surprise, I DID get his ring engraved. The saying I originally wanted was too long...so I ended up just saying "I love you" and our wedding date. He loved it and I'm really glad I did it. Even though it was simple, it means a lot to both of us. Every once in a while, I'll catch him taking his ring off and looking at it. . .which always makes me REALLY happy!! :-)

Awww! That's a really cute story! :-)

Quote: Rachelle, you looked beautiful Why thank you!! How sweet! Quote: I think we are going to use the sparklers right when dinner finishes as we make our way to do our first dance. Juan will still be there to get some pics and then it will be a way to get everyone up and start dancing right after we finish our dance! That sounds like a great plan....the sparklers will burn down a little as you're walking to do your dance and then everyone will still be gathered around when you're done. I like it! Ooh! One more thing I thought of...at my reception site, they required us to have somewhere for people to dispose of their sparklers. We did cute little flower pots filled w/ sand...almost like an ashtray I guess. Anyway, it was a safe place for people to get rid of their sparklers and not risk any stray embers or sparks getting on things. Your reception site may already have this taken care of. But I just thought of it.

Quote: Awww, Your ring is top heavy, I will say it again "oh the problems we have" LOL Ok, Kelly is cracking me up!!! Lol!!

Yeah! That's what I was thinking of! Thanks Christa!

You got your dress?!?! YAY!! How fun! Don't you just want to try it on like every five minutes?! Lol!

I THINK the Boi-ing might be the right one. I would also assume it's pronounced Boing - like a spring too! :-) Also, you could just ask them to reccomend a couple products and you can decide what you want to try. I think I'm going to try getting a highlighter soon. It's like a big pencil or stick that not only helps conceal dark circles...but really helps reflect light to keep your eyes from looking dark.
-
yeah, I think it's really supposed to be for eyelids. BUT, that being said, occasionally I'll use a little to help w/ the dark circles under my eyes...or other random discolorations. It seems to help neutralize things for me.

Yay for pictures! You look so shocked!! I bet that just what he was hoping for...besides the "yes!" -
Quote: Rachelle... that's the first I've ever seen of your wedding pictures!! I looked through all of them Help yourself!! I don't mind a bit. I LOVE looking at them. . .but am never sure that other people are actually interested. So I try to limit who I force them on! Lol! Quote: Great idea Rachelle! Thanks!!!! I think I'll do them after dinner / during first dance since Juan will still be there. I LOVE your sparkler pictures!! Thank you! It was lots of fun! Can't wait to see YOUR sparkler pics! ;-)

Oh yeah, about getting them passed out and lit (the sparklers, not the guests! lol!) See if you can designate a couple people to make sure everyone has them and they can carry around a lighter or whatever to help light them. That's what we did...seemed to work.
-
Ooh! This is one thing I acutally have experience in! Lol! I used sparklers at my wedding...used them at the end of the night as we were leaving. I LOVED it! And people really seemed to have fun with them. I think you could totally do that if you wanted. Although it would be equally pretty when you enter the reception, or as Courtney said, during the first dance. Personally, I would order more. People like sparklers. And some people will light theirs a little early. . .and it will burn out. . .and they'll want another one etc. Although that probably depends on what the burn time is on yours. I know there are some that burn longer...but most burn out fairly fast. I would say at least 1 per person - you may end up with a few extras but I think the more the better...and that way everyone can have their own. :-) Also, you'll want to maybe test one and see how difficult they are to light. One wedding I went to, the sparklers were super hard to light for some reason...so the guests only had like 1/3 of them lit when the bride and groom were walking out...they were already in their limo by the time the majority of them were lit! I would reccomend either long matches (which worked fine at my wedding) or have a few people with those big, long lighters...like you would use to light the grill or the fireplace. Those work really well too. And just for fun. . .pictures! Here are a couple of the sparklers from my wedding. Quote: we're both getting ready for other dates at the same time, and there is really no element of surprise to it!! Totally. So true. Although sometimes getting ready together ends up being fun. . .even if we don't ever actually make it out to wherever we were going! We sometimes have a problem with that. Oh well. . .probably due to all that drinkin' we do! Lol!

Hi and Welcome! You came to the right place if it's Dreams Cabo info you're after! Lol! Also, there's tons of info on here that's not really destination specific...invitations, favors, decorations, flowers etc. And I'm sure you'll come across stuff to share during your planning process. And don't worry about not being a DW bride...I'm not a bride at all!! Lol! I'm actually just the Matron of Honor for my best friend's upcoming DW. The site is amazing, super helpful and very friendly. Hope you feel welcome. Sounds like you're already getting hooked! ;-)
