  1. Here's the thread where I posted a couple of my pics...but you should go back a couple pages on it and see the pics Leigh posted of some different bouquets. GORGEOUS!! And theres one in particular that I think you might like...it's one of those where the bride and BM's have all different bouquets and they're in really virbrant colors. . .similar to what you posted at the beginning of this thread. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ouquet-11.html
  2. Quote: I was in a wedding last year where the bridesmaids each had a bouquet of one type of flower, and the bride's bouquet had all 4 of the flower types in her bouquet - it looked great!! That's what I did for my wedding. I had the white/ivory version of all the flowers and the MOH/BM's all had a shade of pink in one of the types of flowers. Like my MOH had pink stargazer lillies, sis had pale pink peonies, SIL had really bright gerbera daisies etc. I thought it looked great...and it let me pick the flower that I thought suited each BM the best. There are pics of them somewhere around here. . .I'll see if I can dig them up for you. Obviously my colors were really different then yours - but at least it's an idea! :-)
  3. Everything looks great!! You're so creative! I love how you have all the little details planned out - the fun shirts, the candles, decorations etc. your invitation is ADORABLE!!! Absolutely perfect! And I also really like the OOT bags...very cool. I can't believe it's coming up so soon!!
  4. Do a search for starfish or starfish pins here on the forum...I know we have a couple threads with links to places that some of the girls found cute starfish at. I'm pretty sure I remember one link in particular that had a TON of options. . .I can't remember what it's called though!!! If I remember I'll be sure to tell you...but do the search, you're bound to find something helpful! :-)
  5. Beautiful!!! Everything looks amazing and you guys look SOOOOOO happy!!! I love it!! Congrats to you! Thanks for sharing the pics!!!
  6. Well, I won't be much help with the vows...we did pretty traditional vows written by our officient. But here is the sonnet we had read at our wedding. 7. I completely understand both sides of this. I had a wedding near my hometown and I chose to have a "no kids" wedding. I just didn't particularly want to have a bunch of little kids running around my reception, knocking over candles (me worrying about them catching things on fire!) someone crying during my vows etc. I know it sounds shallow and selfish, but I wanted a peaceful day and an adult oriented reception and all the children of the 150 guests I had did not sound like it would help create the enviroment I really wanted. That being said...I DID have flower girls and a ring bearer. But they were the only children there. My nephew was by far the youngest (3yrs old) but has always been oddly well behaved so I didn't have to worry about him wreaking any real havoc! lol! Also, my sister was 8 months pregnant w/ my niece at the time - so they ducked out a little early from the reception. As it turned out, I was happy with everything. . . Enjoyed having the children that are a part of our lives there and didn't have to hang out with a bunch of other kids that I don't really know. So yeah, that was long but I guess what I'm saying is that it can work either way. And the girls are right, do what you want - but you're making some sort of sacrifice either way. It's a matter of which one you'd rather make. If you're looking for a "happy medium" sort of solution...IS there perhaps a friend that you could take with you who might act as nanny during the wedding? That way it's a least someone that you and your FI are familiar with, can vouch for etc. That person could hang out with everyone in the days prior to the wedding - get to know the kids and parents a bit and perhaps make it more feasible for the parents to attend the event and know that their children are taken care of. . .by someone they're familiar with.
  8. Quote: That is a really cute chapel Rachelle! I do not plan to wear my dress or anything like that, maybe just a cute white dress. Well, since it is in Nov. I am unsure about the white... yeah, but it's November in VEGAS...you can wear whatever you want!! Lol! Seriously though...it will probably still be warm enough to wear a cute cocktail length white dress if you want. SOmething girly for sure - even if it's not white. :-) Oh yeah, and here's the link to their website if you're interested. They've got a pretty good variety of packages. 9. I think it's definitely up to you. My friend Monica who is getting married in Sept (Dreams PV) already did her legal marriage at the JP the beginning of this month. Only their parents attended and other than the parents, I think only the wedding party knows about it. They're not telling all the extended family etc. I think in large part because they just don't want to answer a zillion questions about it. Like, "Well since you got married here, why didn't you just have the wedding here?" Stuff like that. I'd say it probably depends more on how the two of you feel about it and how sensetive or grumpy/prone to griping (to be quite frank!) your various friends and family are.
  10. Meeeee too! lol! Only 2 months and 3 days for us!! yay!!! Sometimes I think we're more excited than Monica and her FI! lol!
  11. Oh yeah! Little Chapel of the West is cute! I went to a wedding there in May. I think it's supposed to be where Elvis got married. But don't worry - it's not all Elvis themed or anything...it's just a really cute chapel and the guy who did the ceremonies was really nice. I'll see if I can find a couple pics. Ok, these are not good pics...but at least you can see the outside and a little of the inside. It was really cute...and kinda funny 'cause there were lots of trees around and it looks almost country - but it's RIGHT across the street from Mandalay Bay! lol! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/w...cM2L5A&notag=1
  12. I say go for it. If that's what you guys want then do it. My hair stylist got married several months ago to get on FI's insurance, apply for passport in married name etc. Her wedding is in two weeks. They just chose not to make a big deal out of it and I think a lot of the people going to their PDC wedding don't know. . .but probably wouldn't care either. So yeah, I say do what you want...but I wouldn't make a HUGE deal out of it (like throw any kind of party or celebration w/ LOTS of people) because people may start to feel like the destination part is kind of a repeat. I realize it's not...but as a guest I can see where it could possibly feel that way. Hope that wasn't confusing! lol! :-)
  13. Yeah, same here. ;-) It's a GORGEOUS dress! But I'm not sure how far down they can alter it. I definitely think it's worth having someone look at. Get a professional opinion and then take it from there. Obviously if it's super expensive it might not be worth it, you know?
  14. One of our friends is SO excited about Monica's upcoming wedding there, he emailed us all an arial map of the resort from Google maps - with a little message that said, "Can't wait!" lol! I thought that was funny and cute. But anyway, I also thought the map was kinda cool. Great view of the resort, beach and the larger layout of things. SO here it is! Google Maps
  15. Great review Jason!!! I totally get teary when I read your and Karen's wedding story! I'm such a sap but you guys just seem so very happy and in love - I can't help it!! Kudos on the spectacular wedding night dinner! It looks absolutely gorgeous!!! I bet your wife LOVED it! :-)
  16. They're gorgeous!!! I wouldn't change a thing! And I think the "Day of Leisure" sounds great. If I were a guest reading that I would totally understand it and think that was a really nice way of saying..."do what you want"! lol!
  17. Happy Birthday!! Your first one as a Mrs!! Hope it's fantastic!
  18. Gorgeous pics!! You look beautiful!! And I LOVE the new siggy pic of your son! :-) Congrats!
  19. Quote: I am not in Dallas, but I just wanted to say 'Hello' to Rachelle - since I had not seen you for a while! You know I love a good hijack! lol! HI Paula!!
  20. They're off of Preston and 635...There's a shopping center there and that's where they're located. I can't think of what else is in it as a landmark...but Terry Costa is pretty big - you can see it from Preston.
  21. ...But if it's a good deal. . . Just taking a quick look around couldn't hurt too much, right?! Lol!!
  22. Woohoo! Congrats kids! Can't wait to hear all about it! Sounds like you guys had a blast. . .can't wait to see the pics too! :-) Congrats again Mr & Mrs Lambert!
  23. A friend of mine just told me that Terry Costa (bridal and formal wear store) is closing! This store has been a Dallas brides staple for as long as I can remember- my sister got her dress there. Since they are closing however, they are having huge sales on all their dresses, samples etc. SO...for those of you looking for a bargain on a gown, you might want to head down there asap to check it out! I know they carry a really wide variety of deisigners. The friend who told me about the store closing said that she purchased her BM dress from there for a wedding for only $55. Not too shabby. . . ;-) Here's the link if you're interested. TerryCosta - About Us
  24. I agree...as one who is throwing a shower, I think it just makes more sense to have it before the wedding. Even if you are having an AHR. That's what we're doing for Monica's. Her's is going to be a month before her weddding and the AHR is a few weeks after they get home.
