  1. I know you already decided...but just wanted to say they both look really cute on you! Also, nice tan! LoL! :-)
  2. We registered at Linens N Things and Macy's. I was very happy w/ both. Our only reason for choosing LNT over BB&B was that they had some dishes we really liked that BB&B didn't carry. Otherwise they have a LOT of the same stuff! Target is great too! They always have TONS of cute stuff and since there's Target everywhere it will be easy for people to shop for your gifts etc. I like Crate and Barrell alright...but I agree, you can pretty much get the same stuff at Target for cheaper
  3. Yeah, same here. It's on our homeowners policy. All our insurance is with USAA...we get that because David's dad was in the Navy. Apparently it's for people in the military or their kids. Our kids won't be eligible for it. . .which is a bummer, the rates are amazing. :-( We haven't had to file a claim for it - thank god!! But basically I think the standard rule is to have it on your homeowners/renters ins. You may even want to just go through your current policy to see what they cover, any stipulations, deductibles etc. Then see if you want to change to a different/better plan?
  4. Quote: The Bay is known for April showers too but I wouldn't let it stop you from coming, it's not like people stay inside when it rains, lol. I totally stayed at the Lafayette Park Hotel when I was in like 7th grade for a friend's birthday slumber party. It was beautiful but I'm sure it's even nicer now. Just an FYI Napa is a decent drive from Walnut Creek, not bad, but just know that they aren't adjacent to each other. Cool! yeah, I knew they weren't right next to each other...because I'm a geek and "mapquest-ed" routes out of Oakland and SF (depending on where we fly in) to the hotels and stuff! lol! But from what good ol' mapquest said it seemed like it would be about 45 mins or so between the two hotels? I figured that wasn't too bad - and I'd like to actually drive around and see stuff. That area is SO much prettier than really anywhere in Texas! :-) And it's funny you mentioned the outlets - we were browsing around on the computer getting idea the other night when all of the sudden David covered the screen w/ his hand! I moved it to see an advertisment/link for the outlets!! Lol! he knows me all too well... I was thinking that once we're in Napa we'd want to spend a day in Calistoga as well. I've heard it's great and seems like a fun place to spend a day.
  5. Hey Jamy- How far is this place from Dreams? I'm assuming it's a pretty reasonable cab ride away? I think I may suggest it for our group of friends when we go down for Monica's wedding. Sounds like a blast to me!! :-)
  6. I am REALLY into grilling veggies right now. They are just SO good that way. Asparagus is a fave (my FI didn't like them until I grilled them either!) also yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, mushrooms. . . For most of those, I wash and cut them. Throw them in a ziploc with a bit of olive oil, garlic, thyme and sea salt. Shake them around and grill! For the smaller things (slices of squash, mushrooms) I skewer them like kabobs. Makes it easier to handle on the grill.
  7. I'd be willing to bet that more Canadians are murdered in Canada every year than in Mexico. Sorry, That sounded a little sarcastic, but honestly. She doesn't even have to leave the resort if she doesn't want to. So really she'd be in Mexico hanging out w/ a bunch of other Candians anyway! :-) Yeah, I'd say take a little more time and see if you can't win her over!
  8. Good to know. We figured it would be chilly for sure and were ok w/ that...but too much rain might not be fun. Do you think April might be any better?
  9. Isn't it Limerly? (like lovely..get it? get it?!) Marriagarita Love-rita Strawberry Love Bridearita Ok, mine are not good drink names...but if you're making a signature nail polish then I've got you covered! lol!
  10. So, David and I are thinking of taking a trip there in the spring - probably March. And I was wondering if any of you had any reccomendations for wineries to visit, places to stay, shop, eat etc. Just wondering what not to miss in Napa!! So far I think we're actually going to stay in a couple different places. Here for the first couple nights: Walnut Creek Hotels, Northern California Luxury Accommodations & Lodging - Lafayette Park Hotel 'cause it looks pretty and a friend of mine has been to their location in Monterey and LOVES it. :-) And then stay the last few days here: Embassy Suites Hotel Napa Valley California - Napa Valley CA Hotels The only thing we're pretty much dead set on doing is playing a round of golf here: The Course at Wente Vineyards - Livermore Valley Golf, California Golf, Livermore Valley Wine, Fine Weddings and Special Events And by "we" I mean "he" and I plan to ride along, take pictures of beautiful things and drink - a lot. lol! That's really all I've got! Any ideas or suggestions from you Napa experts are appreciated! And, of course, I'll make sure to post reveiws of the hotels and such in case someone needs them. :-)
  11. I seriously own at least 15 colors of MAC Lipglass! It's an addiction! But they have SO many great colors! Of course I can't remember the names right now. . . One was Spite ( I think) and one was O Baby - but those are kinda odd colors. The O baby is a browish/coppery sparkley one..sounds weird I know, but as a girl w/ olive skin..it works! And it's pretty sheer too so more sparkle than anything. The red that I have is called Russian Red I think...I usually put that on and blot it for a more subtle, matte look...or I'll put clear gloss over it sometimes. I too love the color Nymphette...but it actually looks odd on me for some reason. Just doesn't suit my skin/lip color. But it's really pretty. Anyway - I keep the Studio Fix in my purse. Love it. LIke the girls said - the shadows are great! SO many gorgeous colors! I think I have their blush called Melba. . .it's a really pretty peachy color. I also have one that's kinda brownish colored. Looks unbelievably natural on me - looks crazy on my friend Monica who is fair w/ blonde hair! SO depending on your coloring...I'm not sure if I'd suggest it! lol! Have fun MAC shopping!!! :-) (random side note: It's not MAC, but if you're shopping for a new mascara, I just started using "Big Tease" by Bare Escentuals. Love it! )
  12. I've driven through/around it! I've really only spent time in PV and Tepic - which is more inland. Sorry...I think I remember it being very pretty though.
  13. This is like the siggy love thread! But you girls Do have some cute siggys...so it had to be said! ;-) More to the point - I was. . . 4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life. Pretty true. I wouldn't say I'm much of a practical joker though. . . And anyway, cake is good.
  14. Quote: i know! she's one of my best friend's daughters - she's hilarious! if she's tired, and sitting down (usually in the evening) and you say "Lexi, what are you doing?" she said "chillin'" - it's too cute! Lol!! Kids are awesome! Leigh got several great pics of her. omg...I totally got all teary looking at the pics where Paul is reading his letter from you! He's all teary in the pics...I'm all teary at my computer...it was very emotional! I felt like I was there - lol! And then that BIG grin when he saw your BD pics...cute! Great job Leigh! (and Paul!)
  15. Ok, so I'm not even through the welcome dinner pics yet (!) but I wanted to ask before I forget... Where at the resort was the welcome dinner held? Was it on of the terraces? They're asking where Monica wants her ceremony set up...but she doesn't really know what the different options look like. I figured maybe I could help narrow it down! :-) Sorry for the hijack!! You look adorable in your WD dress btw! :-D Back to the pics!!
  16. Yay! I got the proof for the invite already!! I have been trying desparately to post it...but I think it's either too big or in the wrong format. If any of you superstars have some advice for me I'd appreciate it! :-) When I saved a copy to my desktop (wanted to edit out a little personal info) it downloaded/saved in Microsoft Paint...which I thought we could use on here...but maybe it's too big and I just can't figure out how to make it smaller.
  17. So I just ordered some invitations for Monica's Bachelorette party from this site I just found. Anyway, wanted to share it with you guys 'cause I literally ordered from them 10 minutes ago and I'm already impressed with their service! I submitted an order for some cute invites they had on sale and accidentally ordered more than they had in stock. It said right on the page that they only had 2 sets left and because I'm a nerd, I ordered 3. I had JUST printed out the invoice copy when my cell started ringing...it was the company calling to let me know they'd received the order but didn't have enough in stock. She said she'd double check their stockroom and call me back...just in case they had more than were listed on the site. She checked and called me back within 10mins. Offered to credit my account w/ them, refund on my amex, help me pick out a new style...whatever. The girl I spoke to was just REALLY sweet and helpful. So I had her just cancel the order and then I picked out a new style and placed an order for that. I should get the proof tomorrow sometime...I'll be sure to show you guys! Anyway, I was very impressed - personal service from an online company. Love it!! So check it out... Welcome to dori ann's stationery boutique
  18. I'm not Jaime..but that's a gorgeous dress!!! :-) Can't wait to see it on you!!
  19. Yeah, I'm a little confused about why his entire extended family needs to write him a letter for a church retreat. What is the purpose? And if people are supposed to be giving you advice or encouragement...shouldn't they be the people you actually spend your time with, who know what's going on in your life? I don't get it. . . What I DO get, however, is Maria's delightful response!! Omg...totally LMAO when I read that!! "How 'bout that Psalm 69"?!??! Like "how bout those yankees" or something...TOO FUNNY! If it makes any of you guys feel any better about being bombarded w/ religion/religious beliefs. . .I very nearly cancelled my wedding because my absurdly religious conservative parents threw a bitch fit about me inviting my cousin, Jen and her girlfriend to the wedding. They said that if they were there (in all their sinning glory - my own sarcastic words) not only would my parents not come...but they would not contribute to the wedding at all. Which sucked because they had given me 8k for it when we first started planning. I flipped out, told them to take their damn money and not plan on attending my wedding since they couldn't manage an evening among "the sinners". (massive irony here...David and I were living together at the time - also VERY against their rules. yet they were still willing to pay for the wedding etc.) I didn't talk to my parents for at least 2 months. Everything we were planning came to a screeching halt as David and I tried to figure out what we needed to do. The minister who preformed our ceremony & did our pre-marital counseling (who also happens to be their pastor) ended up talking to them for me. He thought they were being pretty extreme and actually sat them down and told them that. After they had some meetings w/ him and David and I met w/ him a few times...they finally came to us and apologized for everything and gave me full control of the wedding...handed over the money -as a gift this time- and didn't say another word during the entire process. It took me a long time to get over all that. I'm SO not supportive of forcing your beliefs on people like that. Sorry..that was a pretty brutal hijack Maria...It's actually kind of nice to get all that off my chest though! I SO wish I'd had you girls around when I was planning my wedding!!!
  20. Both shoes are pretty...but I'm a sucker for a little sparkle...so it's blue for me please! :-) Really, either shoe would look great though. Is one more comfortable than the other? Are you having a sixpence in your shoe?! I would think that a blue shoe w/ a sixpence in it would be especially lucky! lol! :-)
