  4. it should be gorgeous then! my first time to PV I spent the month of January there and it was abolutely beautiful!!! The weather was unbelievable! From what i've hear Dec is pretty similar. yay for you!!
  5. Gorgeous!!! I LOVE your dress!!! and omg...you got thrown around a LOT in those pics!! I got nervous they would drop you or something! lol! how fun!!!! I'm so glad you posted those!!
  6. I agree - I think it's a gorgeous, modern and chic combination! Find some pics of weddings that have used those colors so they can see how complimentary they are. They may just not be able to picture it in their minds that well. It's not something you see everyday. . .
  7. One of the managers in my office went to Bermuda last year and absolutely LOVED it! And he's a pretty well traveled dude! Def. worth looking into.
  8. Or maybe I could just drop in and get a slice for myself?! OR, better yet - You can bake it at my house...dirty up my dishes and everything and I'll just hurry home from work to make sure it's "birthday worthy"!??! Lol! I'm Soooooo brilliant.
  9. hawaii?? And yeah, I'm with you on the Bora Bora...in fact David and I have promised that we'll take a vacation there for a future anniversary - probably a "big one" since it will be a pretty big trip! :-)
  10. Lol! I feel ya! There's too many great options. If you're really trying to stay in a certain budget than establish that first and use that to narrow down the list a bit. Like, airfare to Belize could possibly be more costly than to Jamaica...which might cut into your hotel/activites budget. . .and so on. That might at least be a good starting point...places w/ airfare under $xx amount per person? Then at least you can focus on an area!? :-)
  11. You'll do great! Honestly, the layer thing always seems more complicated than it is. As long as the batter turns out right (meaning you don't forget anything important like baking soda or something) you're pretty much just stacking them on top of each other after that. Two tips for that part: 1) make sure to let them cool all the way. Stick them in the fridge or freezer if you need to hurry things along. They'll be more likely to crumble if they're still warm. making them harder to stack and WAY harder to frost! (frosting will get "melty") 2) Assuming it's two layers, set the bottom layer on the serving plate (after cooling) and use a knife to level off the top of it. You know how most cakes are a little rounded on the top/middle after baking? If you trim off that "bump" then it makes it easier to get your top layer to stack (and stay put!) properly. I only do this to the bottom layer(s) and leave the top loyer rounded 'cause I think it's pretty that way. Esp on a carrot cake 'cause those usually have nuts and stuff on top. And THEN you can taste test from the little bit you trimmed off - yum!! It doesn't have to be perfectly even but fairly even will help you out in the long run. Hope that made sense!! hard to explain in writing!
  12. I agree - bouquet is not necessary but I LOVED mine! You could always do one of those pretty pomander balls...that was you can let in hang on your wrist while you're busy w/ rings and such. Here's an example with hydrandgeas - though I've seen them with other types of flowers as well. Roses are really pretty like this. It's on page 3, the first one on the 2nd row ( sorry I could't make it easier to find! lol!) http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/...spx?gallery=20
  13. Tammy is such a superstar!! I was going to tell you to buy one too! lol! I actually really like the one from cheesecake factory. That being said...it's REALLY tall - no way you could "fake" that you made it! (not that you would ever do that. . .)
  14. side note: LOVE Nars!!! I use their blush called Madly and love it!
  15. Both of our parents gave us set amounts of money up front. 8k from mine, 2k from his. But to be honest, they both contributed little bits extra along the way. David and I paid for a lot of misc. stuff (hair appts, shoes etc), the rings and the honeymoon. It definitely helped a LOT to have that extra money from them! We really appreciated it.
  16. I LOVE THEM!!!!! Leigh - you're awesome! Courtney - you and Aaron are the cutest couple!!! You guys are adorable together!! LOVE that last b/w shot...it looks like an old movie to me! So romantic! can't wait to see those b-pics!
  17. Great review Courtney!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun - it's beautiful there!! I totally laughed when I saw Aaron's shirt - David had one (but it was white w/ the pciture in blue) that he wore to his bach party!! All his friends (and even the strippers!) signed it. It's actually a really fun/funny little momento! :-)
  18. I LOVE the little outfits you got!!! omg...people are just going to want to squeeze those babies wearing those cute little outfits!! lol! Adorable!! Great finds!!
  19. Yay!! I'm so glad you posted pics!! You looked beautiful! And you guys just look so happy together - I love it!! Huge Congrats from me to you and your family!!!! Have fun in DR - can't wait to hear ALL about it when you get back! :-)
  20. I was another one that spent some quality time at Sephora - purchased a bunch of makeup and had my MOH do some trial runs for me.. She also did my makeup on my wedding day and I LOVED it! I would definitely say that if you're not someone who wears makeup frequently to buy some and either practice yourself or have someone do it for you. You don't have to buy expensive makeup - if you're never going to use it again then it wouldn't be worth it for you. Just take someone makeup shopping with you and get the basics you'll need to create the look you want. Then practice with it 'til you feel comfortable and happy with your look. It's a lot more cost effective that way then paying to do a makeup trial and paying for wedding day makeup to make sure you get what you want.
  21. I cost $141. . .pretty normal I think. :-)
