  1. SO pretty!!! I love that pink parasol....can't wait to see a close up picture of you in all your bridal glory! :-)
  2. You're such a pretty bride!!!! omg!! Thanks for sharing those...your best man got some good ones! :-) looks like you kids had fun! Can't wait to hear all the deatils and see some more pics! :-)
  3. Awww! I'm so happy you're having a wonderful time...even in spite of MIL's drama. (weddings seem to bring out the "crazy" in people! lol!) Can't wait to hear all about it!!! Enjoy the rest of your time there!!
  4. That's great story!! lol! Honestly though...I think that's cool that he's so into it and excited for you guys. It's always great when you feel like your friends are genuinely happy for you. Love the bitch-slap part of the story too...classy! ;-) Lol!!!
  5. That was really sweet. I got all teary eyed reading it! lol! I think we all feel honored that Heidi would share her life with us like she does. And getting to know her, we couldn't help but adore her! I'm just SO happy you guys have each other!!! I know you'll always take great care of each other! Hugs to you both!!! :-)
  6. Well, I totally see where you're coming from. I would feel the same way. Because really, it's not like he was hit in the nose on pupose the first time...so to say that he'll play and "just not get hit in the nose" doesn't really make sense. lol! Accidents happen. I would be paranoid about it too. That being said, IF something were to happen and IF he had to have surgery, it would all be done and healed before the wedding for sure. AND you can always let him know that after you guys have to fork out $$ for the new nose, no way in hell is he ever doing anything again to jack it up! That's what I'd say anyway! Lol! SO yeah, if he wants to play this week, fine. But IF he has to have surgery, no more football until after the wedding....and maybe agree to no heavy hitting contact sport the month before the wedding anyway....I bruise like crazy at the drop of a hat and I definitely did everything I could to NOT bruise before my wedding. It's only sensible that he could be cautious too...nobody want a broken arm on their wedding day or anything like that! :-)
  7. Ahhhhh!! I LOVE it!!! It's absolutely gorgous on you!!! Congrats!!!! I was totally the same way w/ my dress...except it was the very first one I tried on (it was a Casablanca too, btw!) and both my mom and I got totally teary eyed! AND I think that Casablanca dresses are just made well...I barely had to alter mine at all...like if I absolutely had to, I totally could have worn it straight off the rack. I'm so excited for you! :-)
  8. Yay for pics!! You look gorgeous!!! and I LOVE the color of your BM dresses!
  9. Congrats on your engagement! There a several Jamaica brides on here...I'm sure you'll find lots of good info. Happy Planning to you!
  10. Why couldn't you befriend the big-wig tequila maker BEFORE I went to PV?!?! Lol! That's great that you've got all these cool reccomendations! You guys are going for a site visit in Dec, right? You can test a few of them out and see what your faves are. :-)
  11. Awww! How exciting!!! Congrats to you!!
  12. I agree. I think getting married with them there is a great idea. I think that if I were a parent, it would help a lot to at least be able to be there for that...since I couldn't get to the "real" wedding in BVI. And if it makes you feel any better, a LOT of couples have their legal marriages here in the states before their DW...sometimes it's just simpler that way. I would do it. that being said, I would probably try to do it before her testing if possible....that way you don't all have a gazillion other things on your minds and you can enjoy it more...maybe go out for a nice lunch or dinner after?
  13. Quote: Ah of course it stands for out of town - DUH!! Thanks for the link to the abbreviations - that's my next port of call!! Welcome!! My DH & I honeymooned at the Moon Palace which part of the same resort group as your wedding destination...we're dying to check out Adventura Spa Palace someday! :-) And don't worry about the OOT bag thing! That one confused me a first too...and the STD thing really threw me off when I first saw it! It still looks funny to me sometimes! lol!!
  14. Congrats!! I'm so happy to hear you had a wonderful time!!! Can't wait to see those pics! :-)
  15. That is a beautiful dress!!!! It looks amazing on you!!! Congrats!
  16. Quote: believe it or not, she is the Executive Director of a child care organization, yes. Carly, we actually wanted to move out-of-state. He wants to go to FL, I'm leaning towards TX because of job opportunities out there. Honestly, that was one of the first things I thought...that it seemed absurd for someone so hard-hearted to work with children. And I'd like to officially vote for Texas in the upcoming move! No reason...I'm totally un-biased...lol! ;-) that being said...there are lots of great places here to get a house, in a good neighborhood, with good schools etc. Florida will be prettier for sure (Texas is NOT known for it's beauty in most of the cities) ...but I believe the cost of living is typically higher, harder to buy a house etc.
  17. I DO NOT think you're over-reacting at all!! I think she's being a bitch. Plain and simple. The ONLY somewhat valid point she has is that she probably should have been notified that you'd be out for xx amount of days. But I think an email would have been sufficient for that ...or even if Reggie had called to inform her...that way she can't gripe and guilt you into doing something you're not ready for. I'm SO sorry that you're facing this right now. I'd be very very tempted to quit and leave her high and dry. And then see if there's a way to file a formal complaint about her w/ the company so that it's very clear her unprofessional attitude is what caused you to quit and look for work elsewhere. What a bitch...seriously.
  18. Omg!! Congratulations!!! I knew it was a possibility for you guys...how great that it's for real!! I'm excited for you!!! Is DH super excited...or mostly just shocked right now? :-)
  19. yeah, paper lanterns are always pretty. Little christmas/string lights work too. Although if it's a large area, you may want to see about a small "floodlight" or two. A lot of time you can get portable ones that you could set up at the edge or corners of the area to give a little overall light...then use the candles, lanterns etc to accent and add atmosphere.
  20. I agree - it's really pretty! I think a fairly wide/thick (like maybe 2 - 2 1/2 inch?) pink sash would look great! I would make areas where you do use color fairly bold if possible to enhance the contrast and make everything "pop", you know? Are you planning on a soft pink or a rosy/brighter pink?
