  1. Lol! Catching up on this thread was pretty entertaining! :-) Yup, the liquor laws SUCK in some states! David and I actually drove to our favorite liquor store the other day (yes, we have a favorite. lol!) which is like 15 miles from where we live. (yes, it is DUMB to drive that far.) We're thinking it will be packed because it's the day before Christmas eve and we're sure everyone and their mother is out buying their holiday booze. Nope. The place is deserted. Not a car in sight. Then is slowly dawns on us....it's Sunday. Freakin' Sunday and we can't buy our Christmas booze!!! LoL! We felt like idiots for not realizing what day it was BEFORE we drove all that way. Then we spent the ride home bitching about how stupid the laws are while I remembered fondly my few years living in CA where I could, indeed, go to Safeway and buy Grey Goose if my little heart so desired. Whats even worse, IMO, is the whole situation in Oklahoma. Not only do they have the dumb laws about where and when liquor can be sold...but the beer actually has a lower alcohol content than the beer in Texas! lol! Whenever we go camping up there we always make sure to stock up on beer in Texas so we won't have to buy any there...it just feels like you're getting jipped when your beer has like a 1/3 less alcohol than normal! lol!
  2. oh, It's not the kind with liquor already mixed in...it's just the flavoring. It's in a skinny, wavy looking bottle. I usually find it at the grocery store and stuff.
  3. For the Pomegranate martinis...there is actually a Rose's pomogranate mix too...it's really good. I've also splashed a little of that in margarita's before too....yummy! :-) Not sure what we're drinking this year....I need to decide what mood I'm in! But there will def. be champagne at midnight! :-)
  4. Congrats! You'll have to keep up posted on all the big news! I bet he's SO excited about going to LA! :-)
  5. I don't doubt that! Dallas can be a crazy place. And stress does all kinds of terrible things to bodies. Maybe the key here is to take a vacation about once a month? ;-)
  6. wow....you poor thing! I'm SO sorry about all this crap! I really really hope you feel better soon!
  7. Ok, This is REALLY hard! For BTB - I'd say, PaulaV 'cause she really is a superstar at remembering important dates and being super friendly. or Morgan - I notice she really contibutes a lot and is always posting helpful links etc. For Mrs - I think either Jessica, 'cause she's a cool mama and I can't believe how involved she is with all she has going on right now! Or Rebecca, I think she's such a sweetie and always really encouraging.
  8. Yay! It sounds like everyone had a great Christmas! I have to say I got pretty spoiled this year.... From DH: iPod Touch Prada perfume waffle iron (I've been wanting one forever!!) iTunes gc Blockbuster gc Target gc (came with the iPod) Yummy candle Justin Timberlake - FutureLove/SexShow dvd (I'm ashamed to say I begged for it...and he apparently had to go to a couple different stores to find one. He said wandering around asking for a J.T. dvd was a lot like being on the tampon aisle. Lol!!!) Scratch offs - I won $9! lol! Woohoo! :-) From everyone else: A place setting of our china a couple bottles of wine Some yummy coffee Bourne movies on dvd Super cute cookie jar filled w/ candy from my mom Towels Big blanket for our bed set of ceramic angels (actually kinda cute.) Starbucks card stationery stuff/desk stuff
  9. I can't wait to see what your surprise is!!!! Happy Christmas Eve to you!!
  10. Well I was going to suggest that you title the thread "Gifts from a Psycho-hose Beast" (hahah....Wayne's World anyone...? ) But yeah, I think that was ALL a bit much...and I would have been irritated about being obviously, deliberately left off the card too! Honestly, even if I'm not sure of the spouse's name, spelling whatever...I just address things to The Smith Family...or whatever. There's no excuse for leaving you name off the card. It sounds like you went the classy route with your response to her. I think Miss Manners would be proud. :-)
  11. those are gorgeous! You must be so proud of yourself and all your hotness! :-)
  12. I LOVE that style veil! I do always wonder how it stays on, but I think it's a gorgeous style and looks great in pics! :-)
  13. Oh Jaime! I'm so sorry!! I'm sure you guys will make the best decision for yourselves. It sucks and it's hard but I have no doubt whatever you decide will turn out for the best. BIG hugs to you!!
  14. I'm SO excited to hear about your job offer!!!! Honestly, that sounds SO much better to me. Even with the different time off perks etc. I'd be desparate to get out of my job if I were you. Good luck & Congrats!!
  15. Great pics!! And I LOVE your dress!!!! Thanks for sharing! quick hijack: Lorilu...I love your new siggy pic! Cracks me up!! lol!
  16. I'm glad you got to the Dr! Hopefully you'll feel tons better soon! I'm not sure what the area where the restaurant is is called, but I'll look on the card I have from there and find out for you. It's not particularly near anything....like it's not in the main part of town, it's off by itself a little bit. I'll post more info from home tonight. :-)
  17. I know! I was thinking the Lambert's look pretty cute with kids cuddled up next to them. ;-)
  18. well technically you are starting your own family w/ your FI right? Hopefully he'll start to come around....I think keeping the maiden name as your middle name is a good compromise....not that you need to compromise...but hopefully he'll recognize that. That you're not trying to reject him or distance yourself or anything of that sort. Good luck in all this!!!
  19. I have to say I think that your dad is being ridiculous. What reason does he have for saying this?! And even so, with all the most convincing reasons in the world, if you wanted to change your name to Strawberry Shortcake Jones it's really none of his business! You're the one who has to live with whatever name for the rest of your life. And I am curious...does your mom share his last name? How would he have felt if she was so determined to keep HER maiden name? And I agree...call him on his bluff. I can't imagine him ACTUALLY missing the entire thing & looking like an A$$ to all your family and friends over this issue. If nothing else, I would think that his pride would get the better of him. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's awful and I feel terrible for you. To be brutally honest, I think it terrible of him to put you in this position.
  20. Quote: It doesn't even feel like Christmas yet because it's been in the 80's the past few days and the leaves just started changing a couple weeks ago. It has really felt like fall, not Christmas season! Seriously!! I was just thinking that the other day! NOW it looks like Fall finally...in mid-December! lol! Quote: Darnit, I think I'm getting sick with a sinus infection. Going to the doc today. Hopefully if it is an infection I can go ahead and get on antibiotics and be well by the time we get there! (Last time we were in Mexico I came down with Mono - booo!) I got sick the day before we left to go to Monica's wedding! I had the worst sinus pressure etc. Landing in Mexico was the worst pain...I felt like my head was going to explode...I already had so much pressue in my head that the altitude change literally brought me to tears. go to the Dr ASAP! Get some good stuff and feel better soon! I didnt' have time to see a dr before we left (I literally got sick the afternoon before we were flying out) but I got some nasal spray (some kind of Afrin, moisturizing, 12-hour sinus somethin'!) and it worked like a charm! Made it possible for me to breathe! Also, the humid weather there acutally helped me out a TON, I felt SO much better after just being there for 24 hours. I'm glad you've got a few days to try and get rid of this though. I hope you feel better really really fast!!! Also, if you have time there's a restaurant you guys should absolutely check out. I'd try it for a lunch since it's a chill/casual kind of place. It's called Cuale Paradise..I can get the address if you want it. Although I think if you give a cab driver the name, they should be able to get you there. The food is real mexican...the resorts seem to do more tex-mexish IMO. . .and it's SO good! Also, the drinks are great (the ONLY pina colada I've ever actually liked in my life)...and it's right on the river. You can literally stand in the river and drink! Sounds funny but it's honestly so great. Everyone in our group that went still talks about it all the time. let me know if you want the info....I think you guys would like it. :-) I'm SO excited your trip is coming up so soon!!! You guys are going to love it!
