Quote: Good point. Sometimes I lose my sense of humor and coincidentally it's during PMS time. Poor FI never knows how I'll react. LOL! Exactly! ;-) Quote: Joke or not though, your feelings were hurt. I'd simply ask his intentions. I agree 100%...Just ask him

Yeah, ideally he would have a least given her a head's up about that. But then again, if he seriously meant all that I can't see him (or most guys) actually telling her about the add, knowing she'd probably look it up and see that and get her feelings hurt. You know? Most dudes don't want that kind of confrontation. Maybe he (misguidedly for SURE!) thought she'd think it was funny? Sometimes I can take a stereotypical bad marriage joke...and sometimes I can't and I get pissed. Is there any chance he thought it would be taken as a joke since it's SO over the top? I'm not trying to discount your feelings at all Maura...just saying what my experience with something similar to this was....and hoping it turns out to be just as innocent (if dumb) for you too.

Awwww Maura...I can see why you're upset. If it helps any, my DH did a similar thing w/ the wording on some stuff he sold on ebay. Actually, he writes up some "sob story" like that every time he needs to sell something. His thinking is that it gives the buyer a reason that a guy would be selling a perfectly good "whatever" and makes it more relatable etc. usually it's something like, "My wife says she's tired of xx item taking up space in the house...either it goes or I go." It's total BS...and honestly, the ONE thing I'm always nagging at him to get rid of is the the ONE thing he hasn't sold yet! loL!! Ah, the irony. I know there are a lot more reasons that you're upset about this...but hopefully my little story helps a little with the ad-wording that's bothering you. I think it's just a bunch of bs that he wrote to garner sympathy and maybe drive up the selling price a bit. ;-)

Quote: I got this idea from Rachelle who's anniversary is Cinco de Mayo. Leave it to two wino's to pick hardy drinking holidays to get married. Exactly!! lol! We did all of our major partying on Saturday. We went to a parade in Dallas, so started all our drinking around 11am and pretty much kept going 'til we were too tired and hungry to be bothered with it anymore! lol! It was lots of fun. But man was I worn out! I went to bed immediately after we got home (about 6:30) and didn't wake up until 9am on Sunday! I felt great when I woke up though...not even a hint of a hangover! Tonight we're acutally going to a Mexican restaurant that we love...it's 1/2 price margarita night...how are we supposed to pass that up!? lol! I know it's terribly un-Irish...but I AM wearing green and will be celebrating in spirit....'til I go to be early 'cause I have to get up at 5am tomorrow. :-P

I agree....Jin is a flashback and Sun's is forward. I think even if Jin is not dead, that he must be either stuck on the island or maybe in hiding/working for Ben like Syid etc. Something like that, that would keep him from Sun and the baby. Because even if there's some big conspiracy going on and Jin is alive...Sun's speech by his grave still makes sense...she misses him, end of story. I thought last night's episode was great!

I used sparklers at my wedding here in the states. We used them as we exited the reception - where you might traditionally throw rice or blow bubbles etc. Everybody held theirs up and we walked between the rows of people. Since it's unlikely that you'll be leaving your reception like that...I think the 1st dance idea is great!!! Also, it gives your guests something to do during the 1st dance since it's not always that exciting to stand around and watch people sway! lol! Absolutely have a designated place for people to dispose of their sparklers. I used some cute white buckets of sand for mine. I even made a little sign to stick in them....making it a little more obvious what they were for. I do not think you can travel w/ sparklers/fireworks. You can always call your airline to double check...but I'm not sure I'd try it. I mean they are, in essence, explosives. Which are a no-no. Also, make sure you have permission at the resort first and your WC there as well as your bridal party can help pass them out, light them and show people where to dispose of them. Its a nice touch if you can swing it. people like lighting things on fire! ;-) lol! Have fun and Good luck!!!

Thinking about going off the pill soon...anything I should know?
Rachelle E. replied to chicago88's topic in Random Thoughts
My Dr says any woman -TTC or not - should just take them all the time. She reccomends a multi-vitamin but says that you might as well take a prenatal 'cause it has everything you need...and then you'll be ready if/when you do ever decide to TTC. I say go for it! -
Thinking about going off the pill soon...anything I should know?
Rachelle E. replied to chicago88's topic in Random Thoughts
Honestly, some people have absolutely no side effects at all. I think it just varies widely person to person. I didn't have any particularly crazy side effects - like mood swings, being extra hormonal etc. Everything got back to normal fairly quickly. I had a couple cycles that were shorter than what I was used to and my skin is more oily now then it was before....but I always had super dry skin before, so I'm not sure if if just changed in general or if it was BC related. But that was about it for me. That being said, I know some girls who have had CRAZY long cycles and stuff like that right at first. So that's a possibility. But there's really truly no way to predict what your body might decide to do! lol! I would suggest that you go ahead and start taking prenatal vitamins - now really, but certainly when you get off the pill. Most Dr's will reccomend taking them for at least 6 months or so before TTC....but honestly, as long as you're taking them I think you're fine. That's probably the only thing I would strongly suggest. It's good to have all those vitamins and things built up in your body before getting pregnant...and just in case you happen to get pregnant right off the pill (it happens!) at least you'll have already started trying to get what your baby needs. That's my two cents! Hope it helps! -

I don't have a particular brand....but I would either get the little samples from the tanning salon (they had some for like $2 at the place I went to...and the packet would usually last through at least a few tans.) Or also, my friend got some from a Sally Beauty Supply store...it was for tanning beds and she liked it a lot. I think it was like $6 a bottle or something. A LOT cheaper then what they sell at the salons.

Good thread! I get off work at 4:00 today...I'm pretty happy about that! Also, I just got the cutest text from my DH...he's counting down 'til our 2nd wedding anniversary...in May! lol! CUTE. I love that guy!

The Simpson girls are from Richardson Texas....I know SO many people that know them. My brother's gf used to be in dance classes with both of them all while she was growing up. And Jessica Simpson actually sang at my summer camp when I was in 8th grade! lol! That was WAY before she was even remotely famous. . .and it has to be said, she has gotten a lot better over time. I remember we didn't think she was all that great...but she was also really young then, so there ya go. And yeah, I think you'd have to go way out in the country here to find people that looked like this...not to say that I havent' seen a bad fake tan here in Dallas, but it's usually a la Paris Hilton not freaky soccer mom! lol!

I'm not really one to comment much on politics...but I have to agree w/ what Glenda said...that if I was that dude's wife, he would have been on his OWN up there! No f'ing way am I standing up there with you being humiliated like that! You didn't need me around when you were out paying for sex, you don't need me around when people are calling you out on it! omg...that always pisses me off SOOOoo bad when the wives just stand up there acting all "supportive". Granted they have a choice but damn. I could NOT do that!

Quick & easy St. Patty's day snack ideas
Rachelle E. replied to Jacqueline's topic in Martha Stewart Wannabees!
I like to make this dip/salsa type thing that I got from a co-worker. It's called Texas Caviar. SO easy and SOOOOo yummy!! Whenever she brings it to any work parties and stuff we all munch on it all day long! It's addictive. 1 can corn 1can black eye peas 1 can black beans 1/3 cup chopped jalapenos - you can use pickled/canned for this or even fresh...but be warned, the fresh ones give off a lot more heat. so maybe a little of both if you want it more spicy. 1/3 cup cilantro - chopped 1 red onion about ½ of it - chopped 1 bottle Italian dressing Drain corn and black eye peas, rinse and drain black beans.. put all of it in a bowl and then stir in 8-10 ounces of Italian dressing and then chill…The end…………sooooooooooooo easy!!! I serve it with the tostitos scoop chips...since it's so chunky it's a lot easier to get it to stay on the chip that way. -
I was thinking about the mystery spy...and this is totally random...but goes with the "never thought we'd see again" premise.....I wondered about Mr Echo? Not sure why that came to mind, just did. I don't think "dead" and "alive" matter all that much on the island. lol! I mean, hell, Charlie is dead and yet he's harassing Hurley at the institution in the future. Walt has appeared out of nowhere to Locke etc... I think it's all pretty flexible there. I agree that I LOVE the new Daniel Faraday character! And I think he's a good guy too...if for no other reason then I think his interests are purely scientific...he doesn't care much who gains or loses and doesn't have any greedy needs associated with the island. . .or they're newly revealed boss.
