  1. Welcome Tracey! Glad you are apart of the group!
  2. I am having a trio for the ceremony on the beach and then we are going with whatever band is at the restaurant. Since the wedding/reception is going to be very simple we are just going with what the restaurant has to offer.
  3. I am planning on wearing a veil as well. I really want flowers in my hair, so there will be flowers and a veil. I think veils are pretty. My aunt is making mine and I think it will be about butt length, with 2 different lengths.
  4. Did any of the married or soon to be married ladies monogram their dress? If so what type of fabric did you use or did you just monogram the dress directly? I have seen it done in a couple of magazines, but I want to know if anyone has actually done it.

    Another Noob!

WELCOME!!! You will find a lot of information here!
  6. I really like the idea of fake flowers. I was planning on staying with flowers that are native to CR. I found these great orchids that really deceive the eye. I really like the idea of putting them on the cake. It makes the cake look fresher. Don't get me wrong or anything, I love fresh flowers, but I want to save money. We shall see. You all were such a great help! Thanks!
  7. I really want to monogram my wedding dress with our names and the date that we get married. I also want to monogram the bags that I give to my bridesmaids (seeing there are only two). They score!
  8. That is what I was thinking b/c in the pictures no will notice. I think I might do this.
  9. This is great news!!! At least people are coming to your wedding. I sent out 75 STDs and I am guess that only 25 will come. Although when I was doing my budget planning I did budget for 45 people. I didn't want any surprises. Now you just need to recalculate your budget and see where you can cut costs.
  10. Okay, I know this is a weird question, but I was wondering if anyone out there used fake flowers for their bridal bouquet, boutonnières, and bridesmaid flowers. I found these really great flowers at Michael’s (a craft store) that look like real flowers (no kidding). When my FI got home last night he was like "Nice flowers! Are they real?" Then I got to thinking I just might use these instead of buying real flowers in Costa Rica. It will cut my flower budget in half. Do you guys think this is tacky?
  11. Welcome to the forum. I think there are a couple of Hawaii brides here. I have never been to Kauai so I can not help you, but you will find help here somewhere.
  12. I missed your gallery previews, but from what I saw your pictures are amazing.
  13. I am curious about the quality of the shirt. I will keep checking to see what they look like.
  14. That was funny! Thanks, for that little pick me up!
  15. Thanks! I remember seeing all the wedding stuff at Target last year. Unfortunately, the Target by my house sells everything SUPER fast. I need to be on the ball and keep checking. Thanks for the info though.
  16. I wonder why the flights from Canada are difficult. I am really sorry to hear that. I hope you can work everything out.
  17. Welcome! I am getting married in Costa Rica. I know that some Canadians on this forum are having trouble finding flights out there, but let me know if you need any help.
  18. I did work out yesterday, but only for 45 min. I had to go home because Heros was on and Instyle Weddings. TV always comes first.
  19. My reception site closes at 10 p.m. I guess that is when we will be done. It will be for sure raining so I guess the earlier the better. I am not having it private. It will also be open to the public.
  20. I only worked out once last week. PATHETIC! I am going tonight no matter what. My thighs need to get smaller.
  21. Thanks Glenda! I just figured out how to use it. It took some trial and error.

  23. I too want a simple cake. I was almost not going to have a cake because I could careless. I was thinking of a simple 1 tier cake with some fresh flowers. I really like the cupcake idea. I think it is great! I just don't want to spend any extra money on looking for someone to do it in Costa Rica.
  24. So my first registry went......not that good. My FI and I could not agree on anything. We walked out of that store with only 7 things registered for b/c I started to get annoyed. He kept telling me that I should not get out of hand and register for junk. He is totally right, I guess, but there were some things that I wanted. Oh well. We have 2 more stores that we are thinking about. I think next time we will go ahead of time and really look at what we want. I am sure that will make things much better.
  25. I am really sorry that you are having an awful time. I really do hope you can work everything out and find a place that is more attentive.
