  2. You know I love the sweet tea so I'm with ya Yari! Rachel I just read the sandwich is chicken, butter, & pickles.....that's just naughty but it has potential
  3. Just saw this commercial, if you're craving something bad, McDonald's is giving out free southern style chicken sandwiches with the purchase of a medium or large drink between 7a-7p. I never had one but it looks like it's chicken & pickles? I think the free coffee at Dunkin Donuts is better but there aren't any in CA so this is our freebie (kind of) of the day.
  4. Dang it, we don't have Dunkin Donuts here...I feel your pain Abbie! Drink up for us East Coasters!!
  5. OMG I love it - the shit is going to hit the fan!! Well I don't love it if it will make drama but hopefully it goes down a few days before the wedding so everyone is cool by the wedding. Your inlaws are going to flip (and say 1000 Hail Marys...lol)!!!!
  6. Oh my goodness, my sympathies at what will probably be one of the most difficult times of your life. My suggestion, don't continue to plan right now. Your wedding is over a year away so there's no rush. Take some time to heal and not plan, and before long you'll be ready to get back into it. You can incorporate him into the wedding in many ways and, of course, he will be there whether you see him or not. Best wishes
  7. I'm with Morgan, your skin looks awesome in your siggy pic...but we know ourselves and how we used to look at our best, so I know what you're going through. Since I was in junior high I've slathered cocoa butter on my face every night, for me it's great for eliminating dryness & making skin soft. Also virgin coconut oil is really good for skin and has a similar effect as cocoa butter. It helps with wrinkle prevention, I get mine here: Welcome to Tropical Traditions! (their baby silk overnight cream is amazing too, and all natural if that matters to you) For the aging/spots/dull skin I get too, I've shopped around and it's been tough. I've bought high-end stuff that I want to work so bad because it looks pretty and smells good, but it's been nothing special. The most effective for me so far is the Regenerist line by Oil of Olay. (and lots of water, my skin seriously suffers when I don't drink enough!) Everyone's skin is different so none of this may work for you but it does for me, and it's much cheaper than the Clarins, Lancome, Clinique, Shisheido, etc. that I wasted $ trying. Good luck but you look hot to me!
  8. Welcome to the forum, Jo! What a great wedding yours will be! I saw the peacock theme in an old movie once, but never in real life. Venice and peacocks? Too cool!!
  9. Ooooh it looks really good! All I would say is what you said, space the candy out a bit. I would like a clear view and easy access to all the dishes so I can stuff my bag full of goodies! Nice job!
  10. Wow, what a headache and some darn ungrateful people. The 14 year old sounds like she needs a swift kick in the pants...taking off for days at a time and having that lousy attitude when she is around? Good job drawing the line, no more of that nonsense for you! Unbelievable!
  11. People have a vision of "the big day" and I support it if it truly makes them happy inside to see all the bells and whistles (even if it they could vaccinate a small country with what they spend!) I don't support it if they do it so people can whisper about how lavish it was & how much they must have spent, I think that's pretty much tacky... I've been to pricey weddings and cheap-ass weddings, like make-your-own-reception weddings...those aren't the best but I'd go to one again if invited. I could have fun dancing in a backyard and eating off of styrofoam plates so if I go to one with snazzy table decor and stuff it's a visual bonus but the fun factor is usually the same. But $28k? Not our style...yet another example of how we aren't the average couple...lol

I think it's one of the better interviews I've seen her do...she seemed relaxed and comfortable with herself and in previous interviews she didn't always have that natural cool about her. I want it to work, Lord knows her 1st marriage made her miserable so maybe the 2nd time is a charm
  13. I asked 2 cousins to be "special attendants" and as people got off the boat they directed them to sign the mat at the table. They were in charge of making sure everyone signed it and passing out the bubbles. They had to round up some stragglers later but they got it done. Side bonus for them, they got to be on the programs as special attendants, and they got gifts...woohoo!
  14. I may be one of the few who didn't do a room block or give them limited suggestions. We said we're staying at Dreams, here's the info if you want to stay there. Then we listed about 6 other places ranging from $400 per night and said to stay where they wanted, just make sure to be at the marina to board the boat to the wedding! LOL We also gave them our TA's site where they could price more options. We knew we had guests ranging from broke to not broke so we just wanted them to be in PV anywhere they could work in. In the end people stayed at several places, some used their own TA's, some booked direct. I think everyone got great rates. The ones who stayed at Dreams paid about $900pp including air, and the cheapeast I heard of was $550 for 4 nights including air at an AI hotel near the boardwalk. Also some stayed "free" with Marriott points and timeshares. I think we may have paid the most because we stayed the longest, but still it only came to like $2600 for a suite for 2 including air/transfers/insurance. We went in "off" season which helped a lot. Good luck! Quote: Originally Posted by LC_Rachel It's an awesome experience and I'm so happy we chose LC. It has so much bang for the buck. 15. Yay! I've been enjoying the teasers but seeing all of them is great! I love them all!! And guys, I've met these 2 and they are definitely in love! BTW Amy I totally remember when Sharkeez burned down, that was crazy!
  16. We did, and we left them set up the whole time we were there and the maid cleaned around them (we had a lot). Not sure what the official policy is but we had no problems

  18. Oh damn VA people, that's crazy! Here is cold, it's 57 right now which is brisk for us, supposed to get in the mid 70's today then the high 80's the next few days. L.A. people we got some early June gloom this year! I'm not complaining though, by July it will feel like Mexico for 60 days straight & I'll wish it was gloomy once and awhile!
  19. Wow Calia you're really out there! Sounds like a great place for the spirit So....I finished the book today and I was pleasantly surprised by the book in general. It sounded good but I didn't expect to be so emotionally pulled in, can't wait to talk about it. I took notes so whenever you guys are ready is fine with me And now I need to see the movie!!
  20. Interesting, thanks Maria! My boss sent this memo around saying to get gas early in the morning before sun-up because the ground is cool so you get more gas and less vapors. More bang for your buck!
  21. Very cool!!! You'll have a blast - again! BTW I've been to Denver airport 2x, both for layovers. It is nice, and big (I think that is the one where there are subway-like cars to get you around?) One thing that struck me was how white it was...lol I know that sounds funny being that I'm white and all - and maybe it was a coincidence both times I was there - but almost everyone was the same color with the exception of a few airline employees. It was so striking I called my parents from the airport because I had to tell someone! Maybe coming from CA that was strange to me because I've never seen that before, but it was sort of eery. Anyways, that was pointless but you struck a memory....have fun in PV!!
  22. LOL your tattoo stories are great! I once knew a guy that had "Mija" on his chest from his ex-wife (she had "mijo"), and he didn't cover it post-divorce because he said it could apply to any future lady in his life...ewwwww

  24. If I'm being honest I think she hit her peak in the mid-90's vocally....but because I know how great she was I still listen to her current stuff to get glimpses here and there. Hate to say it, but something happened that has strained her voice... I think her craziest moment was that TRL striptease before she went 51/50 and ended up in the psych ward!
