Question - do the Mets & Yankees both play in NYC?
  2. Check out all the Yankee hate, classic! Just wait until Mr. Lambert or Glenda reads this...they'll have a lot to say. Ha!
  3. I love baseball season!! I only get to see my A's on tv when they play the Angels but I follow them online with a passion. I spent many a summer day watching baseball at the coliseum eating Carnation malts...ahhhh to be a kid again! So let the representing and trash talking commence...I know we have a few Yankee fans here (boo, hiss) who will come out of the woodwork!
  4. I think Dreams PV would make a wonderful honeymoon! We stayed there during our wedding week and it was really nice. We didn't get to take advantage of the resort like we wanted because our schedule was hectic but with time to veg out it would have been spectacular!
  5. Btw DH was born 4 weeks early and weighed in at 4 pounds. He grew up to be a strong athlete with no health issues to date Nugget will be fine!
  6. Um, no thanks I'd rather collect unemployment LOL Jessica that's funny, and true...I'm so not ready!
  7. I agree with Kat & Calia, when it's possible/if they need more support than we can give they should totally check into the Ronald McDonald house, I know someone they helped in crisis too and they are awesome.
  8. Omg! Okay a few things...you look fantastic!!! I love love love your reception/tables, they are stunning, and you two look like you're really really in love like I know you are! Great photos!!!!
  9. I missed the first thread too but I got caught up. Jen you are such a New Yorker, yelling at that lady...I love it! I hope your ribs are okay

I wish we had L plates here so I knew who to avoid on the road...lol I also like "going on the lash" haha. I say Paris/Euro Disney but as an American that seems cool & different, as a European NY probably seems cool & different to you. I wish I were an hour from Paris
  11. Between the hen do, bloody L plates, and the piss up I am laughing myself silly over here! I love how we're all from different places and get to learn this stuff...I'm going to start using some of your lingo. As for your question, I've been to Euro Disney & I think that would be super fun! How long is the flight to NY? That may work too. P.S. What are L plates?
  12. I don't know what the best is, but we always use our cell phones. We're with Cingular, I mean "the new At&t" lol, and our plans/phones are automatically set up for international roaming. There is a specific plan you can get in addition that reduces the rates slightly. I've heard that calling cards and pay phones are more economical but the convenience of the cell is worth the bill a month later IMO.
  13. All the fire dancers have tight bodies, it must be the best workout & that heat helps them sweat off the excess! We were told our fire dancers would come sometime after dinner. As it happened they came shortly after the first dance and it was cool because all of a sudden our music stopped, theirs started, and they were announced and came out of nowhere....we were all so busy dancing that nobody saw them come in...it was a pretty cool surprise. They danced around DH & I with the fire, and that fire is HOT! I know Rachel knows! I have a black mark on my dress from where they got a little close...lol
  14. Glad all is well!! Thanks for the link to the other thread, I missed that the first time so I had to get the update. Welcome back
  15. haha....nothing like a lover scorned!

  18. Yeah that's pretty lame, the cop is the douche! In CA those spots are marked blue and the sign is practically in the parking space. That sign stinks, if someone is standing/walking by it you wouldn't be able to see it at all!
  19. Oooh Angela you had girls, nice! We had 2 guys, one was from Mexico & one from Brazil...they were awesome! (Rachel you're right, it was $200)
  20. Ditto about jury duty, eww...I hope the case was interesting! As for the AHR, why not? If you have a budget for it I say invite some people and see who is with it. As a friend/guest I would get why you had a private ceremony and would love the idea of vacationing to celebrate. Worst case scenario only a few people go but that will be cool too, because the less people you have the more lavish it can be. Go for it!
  21. We had them in Vallarta and they were part of our wedding site, Las Caletas. It was an optional add-on to our package. I think it was something like $300 for a 20 minute show? I've heard of the ones in Cabo being more than that so I think it was a good price. If you can find them & work it out totally do it! It was a surprise to our guests and we were all in awe...they're pretty cool!
  22. Welcome, Lisa! I married at Las Caletas last June. We stayed at Dreams but several of our guests stayed at Velas Vallarta. We spent an afternoon there hanging with them. The place is huge and beautifully decorated. I went to 2 rooms, one was a 1 bedroom and one was a 3 bedroom. The furnishings/decor was flawless and they even stock the kitchen with snacks. The balconies were really large too, it was like a really nice apartment. My favorite part was the pools and the lazy river, just awesome. To be honest the beach sucked, but all beaches in that area kind of suck...you have to go South (like towards Caletas) to get nicer beaches. It is pricey but unless you have big ocean swimming guests going, they will be impressed. I hear the food is excellent. We had a member of BDW marry there last year, search for her review & pics. Dreams Vallarta is usually slightly cheaper (but not by much), and I highly recommend it. It's more intimate, the beach is better, and it's a Dreams property which means it's pretty damn wonderful If you search the site (above, right) or look in the PV section you'll find lots of info on PV hotels. Happy planning!
  23. Yes, I totally did the costume change! It was a halter knee length white sundress and it saved the night! I changed after the fire dancers. It was humid, my legs were stuck together with sweat, the dress was heavy, and my boobs kept wanting say hello so I said screw this where's my sundress! (btw to any of you with big bazooms, try sitting and dancing in your dress at the bridal salon & see how your dress reacts to both...anything stays put when you just stand there but at your wedding things will shift so make sure it's secure!) After the change I was a brand new woman and was really able to boogie down, I 100% recommend a 2nd dress!
