  1. I recall someone here found the name of the florist Vallarta Adventures uses....find that post! I had white calla lillies (and roses), of course my bouquet was included in the package, but additional bouquets were reasonable and consisted of any flowers you wanted so they could have been calla lillies. I'm figuring the florist is inexpensive because I'm sure VA charges what they have to pay, you know? If you can't find the post I'll ask my WC for you This was mine: This was the MOH's:
  2. We are not mergers that is way too much work! LOL He has his personal checking account and I have mine and I like it that way. We do have a joint money market account but we had that well before we got married. We both contribute to that, it's really easy with online transfers. We don't take money out of our money market often. We pay bills out of our personal money, sometimes split in half (if we are on the ball) or whoever gets to it first. Lately he's been paying all the bills...I haven't paid a utility or phone bill in months, but I've been paying for food/groceries/gas. It isn't planned, it's just how it is happening right now based on our schedules and that could change next month...after living together for 9 years I can tell you it all balances out. Neither of us are going anywhere so really all money is our money, we just like the autonomy of personal checking. I know exactly what will be there when I log in to my checking account and so does he. No mishaps, like missing money and the "I thought I told you I was withdrawing $500 for..." drama. Our "fun" money comes out of our pockets/checking, and when we go out it's whoever gets to their wallet fastest...haha
  3. Just let us know as soon as you do because if we're going to SD overnight I need to make arrangments to board our doggie

I remember that well. Having 4 restaurants within walking distance, already paid for, and trying to arrange a nap schedule that maximizes your party time...it's hard to live like a rock star...haha Plus we went from Mexico to Jamaica, by the time we got back to L.A. real life was too much to bear! I try to remind myself that I don't have to change just because I'm married, since in reality it was those qualities about me my hubby loved to begin with. Anyhoo...yes, the pee on the toilet, the beard shavings, the body functions being celebrated on the hour...yuck! That is a big adjustment for sure! And don't get me started on beard shavings...maybe I should have married a woman...although we women have our own issues too...so I'm told
  5. I first ordered from them maybe 2 years ago? Whenever they first opened. They are a legit company, and I know very little about make-ep, but I thought for $1 an item it was way better quality than the Wet'n'wild you can get at the drugstore for the same price. I particularly like their colored lip glosses.
  6. Honestly? I have to roll with Alyssa on this one, I say don't do it. I think most people here will say to do it but we are a biased group of recently or soon-to-be married people who are all about the fabulous yet cost-effective wedding. People who don't obsess about weddings most of their week will probably think it's tacky or just not get it. If you could use some help maybe you can appeal to people who know you well, but I wouldn't make it a blanket request...that's too close to footing the bill for your wedding IMO.
  7. Sorry...I know we've said it a thousand times but it's such an eye opener, your wedding is never as important to everyone else as it is to you. We had friends move heaven and earth to go and some relatives barely tried and didn't go. And it doesn't help that the economy is bad so if your guests don't have a stash of money to pull from it makes it even more tough. I hope they make it there
  8. Well send your heat out here! We're in what they call "June Gloom", it happens like clockwork in L.A. Overcast and blah...although it is a nice calm before the heat storm! FYI if anyone ever plans a summer trip to L.A. - plan it in July, August, or September because that's when it's hot! June may disappoint you. And depending on the year October is hot too!
  9. Ann, I just thought of something cool. If you end up in an RV would you pass through L.A. at all? If so, there is the coolest RV park ever at the beach like 3 miles from my house. It's practically on the sand with ocean as far as the eye can see...DH & I will bring our portable BBQ and cook you guys a meal to remember (or of course you can come to our house but we lack the ocean view!)
  10. Christine whatever you want to do is fine by me...although I've been craving bonfire smores lately...haha Seriously I'll go to Dego or else the OC is cool. I just want to meet you and Ainsleigh needs to meet her aunties
  11. Meet Bob Smith, the luckiest man on earth...

  13. Oh hell no!!! I am so sorry for everything you are being tested with right now, what are the odds that you would get all this at once? You need some you time but it's tough with this lovely new WC situation that you have to handle asap. Your wedding is 2 months away, WTF?? How can we help? Do you have a contract? They don't want an influx of emails from us....
  14. I was driving on the 10 the other day and they had a flashing sign about this law, that's how I remembered. I hate the headsets, I have one and never use it. I think they look so silly...maybe it's just where I live but people are on them everywhere you go like they are secret service or something...lol It's going to suck so bad to have to use one. I think I'd rather not talk on the phone in the car. As for gas, I literally work 1 mile from home and don't drive too far outside of work, so I don't feel it. But, if I drove more I'm sure it would be killing me! The trip to the OC and back last week was more costly than it used to be, that's for sure!
  15. LOL Tara your brother is a smooth pimp...haha And Maria I've heard story #1 before but #2 is also priceless...good times! I fear placing my drunken stories on the world wide web...let's just say I have some
  16. Love the bath stuff, great gift! And you're an early bird, I have to get on the ball!

We've taken many, many, many cross country trips with this beast and my dad LOVES driving it. in fact the dork was just talking about how he wants to go out west. So... option A (obviously I haven't talked to my father yet... but he's always down for a good travel!). So, possibly we could drive out to California and pick you guys up and drive back home. Since we live in Wisconsin, MN isn't far at all. Obviously there is the cost of fuel right now, so you'd have to consider that, but I'd guess it'd be a lot cheaper than renting an RV! And since we'd make a vacation out of it, we'd need to know a little in advance so we can leave early and plan some stops on the way out to California! Or, you guys could take the train part way and we could meet you any where along the route. Option 2 via Trisha: We can drive our RV down to the Chicago train station and pick you guys up and take you home. I know it's not THAT long of a drive from Chicago to MN, but with a premie it might be. So, sadly those are all the options I have. I'm really sorry you are in this prediciment... but hopefully it'll all work out. PM me if any of these ideas are appealing to you. UPDATE - FYI: I have talked with my parents and they are willing to do this! It'd still be expensive though Around $2,500 just for gas! OMG that is so generous of you and your dad! I bet it would be total fun for your dad too, dads are dorks about their equipment but in a good way The gas is pricey but it beats the alternative costs...and a class A RV sounds sweet! Ann, how's that for a beacon of hope? You guys are great!

Let's hope he or she is either happily married or has a daughter who is Mini hijack, but I'm just thinking of my unholy boss and how I adress his emails to "Steve"...if I had to call him Sir I would throw up in my mouth because he sucks majorly...lol I know it's the protocol in your line of work though

Sunset bonfire & smores at Huntington Beach? Or there are plenty of OC things to do
  21. I remember when they said that about my grandpa so I understand. The timing is so unfair and my heart goes out to you and your family
  22. Hey Ventura County is way closer to L.A. than SD & I'd love to meet the other ladies...aww nevermind, the 30th is a weekday, nothing doing for me. Well SD can still work, you can to a SoCal tour
  23. Oh no, I say go for the precedent...you never know until you ask. Employers don't have to give you time off unless it's a FMLA type leave (I *think*) but it would be nice if they all did. Unless you work for some meanies or you do a job that nobody on earth can fill in for, they should let you. Pursue it and good luck...if all else fails I would call out sick and face the music later, don't let work ruin your wedding!
