  1. These names are great! A co-worker just had a son and named him Chevy...not like Chevy Chase but "shev-y" like the car..lol He's big time into Chevy trucks and somehow his wife allowed it
  2. Cool Erica, keep us posted. I'm sure you rocked it!!
  3. Wtf is up w/burros? I can't believe that in 1 year's time they have more than doubled their prices?!? You can always try the angle my bro tried with them, and mention that article (I think I sent it to you?)...when challenged on that suddenly extra things became free and prices lowered. It's a pita though...how dare they! Good luck

  5. Oh, okay. I forget where you are staying but I guess you've priced an event there, right? What if you do a cocktail hour somewhere? That way you can have set drinks and munchies...it may be less expensive for your large group.

  7. Too cool Maria, now your house will be broken in for sure!
  8. I emailed you but I wanted to thank you here too, I got it and the recipes are really good. Not at all boring, thanks again!!
  9. It must be that time of year! Our dog has been on 3 different meds for the past 2 weeks due to a skin infection...red spots, missing fur, sounds familiar! It isn't cheap to cure either. We got insurance for her a few months back so we are waiting to see if anything will be reimbursed. Good luck. It's no fun when our little pets are suffering!
  10. I would say nevermind, even if she thinks about it and comes back saying she will do it. What are you supposed to do, sit around hoping she'll grace your wedding with her participation? Bleh. She's entitled to feel that way but it stinks that you are feeling stressed when you should be feeling supported. You don't need the bs!
  11. Okay my first reaction was "woohoo, go Christa!" for being hot but yeah, that is slimy...lol
  12. Great pics! I love the one where you are both on the ground...it's cool. I also love the one 2 pics up from that against the brick wall. You look pretty in all of them, thanks for sharing
  13. Hi! I was there once in January and it was pretty chilly, in the 40 degree range at night. I would definitely bring something warm. I think we have Vegas girls here who can tell you more...have fun
  14. Wooooooohoooo!!! Enjoy it, I bet it's better than you thought it would be! Can't wait to hear all about it

He gave me a copy of the recipe book and I think I have a PDF of it at home? PM me your email address and I can try and send it to you This has helped my Dad tremendously with his blood pressure!! Is that your MIL's issue too?? My Dad is used to eating very rich Italian foods, bread and cheese, etc. Jenn that would be wonderful, thank you! Yep, my MIL has high blood pressure. She was recently hospitalized and her BP was 258/126 - insane, right? They got her back down to normal now with medication, but they made it very clear that she had to change her lifestyle. She is used to eating Southern food - lots of fried and smothered dishes, not healthy at all I wish your dad well and I'll PM you!!!
  16. Where I'm from (in Northern California/S.F. Bay Area) we say 'hella'. ~I'm hella tired, this thread is hella cool, my boss is hella mean, you're hella funny, etc. I think it's trickled down-state because people in SoCal say it too now. We "fix" to do things. I'm fixin' to go to the store, We're fixin' to leave in about 10 minutes. Mainly words get really drawn out, everything must have 2 syllables (bo-oat, fi-ive, ni-ine, dawg), the last consonant gets dropped, especially g, half of our sentences end in a question -you make your voice go up in at the end, inflection. I still say Miss when referring to young girls and old ladies at church. Now the little girls are starting to call me Miss too! Every soda is a Coke. What kind of coke do you want? And southern women always refer to their parents as Mama and Daddy. I don't care how old you are! We also have those stupid Mamaw and Papaw names for grandparents that I hate. I will not be teaching my children that! There are things that I don't say like warsh (wash) or cincinnata/missoura (Cincinnati/Missouri). Good thread, I'll have to think of some others. OMG my husband and I are cracking up right now! His parents are from the South and he was raised to say everyhing you do. I haven't called my dad daddy since I was like 8...he's 30 and he still does Also, my 8th grade teacher fom GA would say that if we got good grades on a test she would bring us a coke float, and it was always a root beer float LOL Thanks, that made me smile
  17. I'm answering my own query LOL I found this website for starters that has good info, in case anyone else needs to pass it on: No-Salt / Low-Sodium Recipes

We need to have a So Cal get together for the BDW brides and I promise to bring some to the party!!! Yummmmmy, can't wait to try it!
  19. Welcome Tanya! I love Jamaica and we have awesome JA brides here. Happy planning!
  20. You guys are too cute! I like the fact that you got a pic with a random man on a bike haha. Cool party!!!
  21. My MIL has been told to severely reduce her intake of sodium. We want to convince her that it won't be so bad but we don't have good recipes to share. Does anyone know of any recipes or snacks? Or do you know about websites that have tasty low sodium tips?
