  1. Tara, great day-of pics! How cool that you had a small motor boat to take you, sweet! I have my heart set on LC and that's where we're going to do it. I think, in the end, we will be happily surprised at how many people actually show up. I am back to being insanely, ridiculously, euphorically excited about being a Las Caletas bride! The economy does suck right now...but what could be less romantic than planning one of the biggest days of our lives around Capitol Hill?... Not gonna do it. And you know what? There are always going to be people who complain. It's human nature and an area in which my family specializes in (kidding). I know they'll be happy on the day of and that's what counts. Totally have the wedding you want! You have to ask yourself, how many of the complainers would rearrange their plans for you, you know? Probably none of them. And I agree that you may be surprised by the amount of people who turn up. Best wishes and no regrets Quote: Originally Posted by abandcraig I am starting to think about what I want to do for the table cneterpieces and wanted get some info. Guess I could also email Kelley, but thought I would check with all of you first (I tried a search in the forum but wasn't very successful). Last I checked the tablecloths were white but they had a variety of runners. The newer brides probably have more info
  2. Growing up we decorated just 1-2 weeks before Christmas because we left everything up until the feast of the 3 kings which I believe is january 6th. (you get to give a gift that day too..woohoo!) Now DH & I get the tree 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas, we like it to be sort of fresh on Christmas day and take it down shortly thereafter. When I was shopping for Halloween candy at Ralph's they were decorating for Christmas - it was madness!
  3. Too bad Barcelo isn't responding, it's certainly pretty there! Dreams is a great choice, and we have other DreamsPV brides here that can help

    Hi!

    Welcome to the forum, Lauren
  5. This mushroom gravy doesn't require drippings. Also if you google 'vegetarian gravy recipes' there are lots. Enjoy the fried turkey, yum! 1 pound mixed fresh white and exotic mushrooms such as cremini, oyster, or shiitake (discard shiitake stems) 4 large garlic cloves, minced 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 onion, chopped fine 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1/2 cup dry red wine 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 1/2 cups cold water 1/2 teaspoon sugar 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley leaves Slice mushrooms. In a 10-inch heavy non-stick skillet cook garlic in butter over moderately low heat, stirring, until pale golden. Add onion and cook, stirring, until softened. Add mushrooms and soy sauce and sauté mixture over moderately high heat, stirring, until liquid mushrooms give off is evaporated and mushrooms begin to brown. Add wine and vinegar and boil until liquid is evaporated. Stir cornstarch mixture and add to skillet with sugar. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring, and simmer 2 minutes. Stir in parsley and season gravy with salt and pepper. Gravy may be made 1 day ahead and chilled, covered. When reheating gravy, add water if necessary to thin to desired consistency. Serve gravy spooned over baked or mashed potatoes and/or steak or chicken. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...om-Gravy-12013
  6. Search our Puerto Vallarta forum, I know people have recommended bands before I just don't remember which ones.
  7. I only use Dawn dishsoap in the original blue formula and o-cello sponges. I won't do laundry without Suavitel, I buy Olay soap for the shower even when it's twice the price of other good soap, and only Listerine toothpaste. Period, ever, even if I have to sacrifice in other areas. So I guess I am pretty particular about certain products but most things I can swap out as needed.
  8. I did not know that Lisa is Keith Sweat's ex-wife? Crazy! And I agree that Dallas would be a fool to attach his name to her if she really sucked that bad. But yeah, if she could really sing she wouldn't sound that bad on her worst day. Bizarre!
  9. Thanks for those links. Her single is coming out? That's crazy! Well according to her it isn't Quincy, but I bet it's someone in the music industry. You can't get someone like Dallas Austin to work with you if your man knows him from school or something...it has to be an industry favor imo. I guess we'll see!
  10. I watch it too and a few of them drive me nuts!! The rumor around here is that big papa is Quincy Jones, just a rumor but that's what 'they' say. I love love love Sheree's house. Nene is completely annoying and her husband gets no respect. I felt bad for him when she was drunk at that group dinner...it seemed like he wanted to crawl into a hole!
  11. I swear by Silk Therapy leave in treatment to keep my hair strong (and soft). It works on all hair types and is not greasy...and it smells divine Biosilk - The Luxury and Power of Silk Also hot treatments like Cholesterol or even olive oil help
  12. Welcome from a fellow Las Caletas bride. You made a great choice, happy planning
  13. I've been to a Valley of Fire wedding and either of those dresses would be beautiful! Wear what you want. If you are comfortable that will shine through. Your wedding will be amazing, what a beautiful place!
  14. Alyssa, your pictures are gorgeous! I think my favorites are 165, 171, 175, 184...really they are all great. What a beautiful Hawaiian wedding and couple. Cheers
  15. Tara I love them!!! You both look great and the scenery is to die for. I love how the streets of PV look like some old world village...I'm so glad you did these!
  16. I'm not sure...if Dreams doesn't do it try asking Nicole or Kelly and see if they can arrange something for you. I'd also ask Mishka since she lives there and may know of a place you can get it done. Good luck!
  17. Woohoo Celina, congrats! Enjoy the time you have left in PV...thanks for checking in
