Someone mentioned the doctor that did this procedure and I also question how he or she made that decision in good faith. The whole thing is bizzare!
  2. Wow I haven't seen news all day, this is so awful Yari that's crazy that Brian knows 2 people involved. What a tragedy for everyone.
  3. My first thought is yellow, if the floor has some orange in it then even better. Not banana yellow but a softer yellow. It says happy. ETA: what chanti said above!
  4. Those shoes are bad, girl! Love them!! Just make that your one bridal excessive purchase and FI should let it slide

  6. This is a WOW recipe if you're up for it: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31921
  7. That's quite a garden! I'm city living over here, plus it rarely rains so it takes lot of watering and attention. We do have a lemon tree and some ferns and flowers my dad planted but it got really cold one night (like 40 degrees) and the flowers froze! So we cut them down and are starting again. I would love to do tomatoes in a large barrel-type container, we have some room for that. Gardening is cool, thanks for the inspiration!
  8. I totally understand this and we felt the same way about passing the mic around. It's great but it takes a lot of time and I've been a guest at weddings where you don't know the people making toasts and you can't wait for it to end...we just wanted to dance and chill. So, my father spoke briefly then we had our videographer go around to people individually over the course of the evening. Everyone was able to say what they wanted and it was a treat to see when we got our video back. Hope that helps
  9. Have your wedding in Key West like you and FI want! Is your mom is paying for the whole thing? If so then she can get away with taking some control, but if it's your gig then she is a guest and can't direct things. She'll have fun in the end and you will be glad you did it your way
  10. If you can't find a used one go to Target, you can get a really cute new dress for under $20
  11. Calia, these products are great and all natural: Organic Skin Care Products - Tropical Traditions
  12. Welcome, great idea! I'm sure you'll find what you need here to plan in a rush
  13. I think you should go where you want to go, only a hater would tell you Universal is a silly place to go. There are no restrictions on honeymoons in my book and some people don't even get around to taking one, so make it your own and have fun wherever you two want to celebrate
  14. I love that color combination, great choice! I did brown and orange but I almost went with blue. Great links Shelley
  15. I never had the vision of a particular dress, I just went shopping and the first one I liked I ordered. I can't lie...June in Mexico is hot and I was feeling it, but I changed into a white sundress after the first dance and I felt so much cooler. I wouldn't have done it differently though. I think you should wear what you want to wear because the day goes by so fast and you don't get a re-do so wear the dress you love
  16. Sounds fabulous, congratulations! I echo your comments on Nicole, she was my WC and everything flowed really well because she rocks. Las Caletas is an amazing place to get married
  17. I know Kash (one of our old school members) and her hubby joined. Jacylinda basically summed it up. I *think* it's a 2 year commitment and you would have to leave the kids & jobs behind for that long. You need a college degree unless you are super skilled in some trade that they need...I think they forgive some of your student loans too. It's really amazing if you are up for it. If you just want to do a month or two somewhere google worldwide volunteer opportunities, there is so much to do. With most of them you have to pay for transportation/room/board but you are still doing a lot of good and in these cases you can pick where you go.
  18. For real? Go to the court house, wait it out, and down the road if you are certain this is permanent you can have a vow renewal as flashy and funky as you like. Not sure what else to suggest...other than turning your love for weddings into a career as a wedding planner
  19. Ha! If there were an elephant on my street there would be permits and police roadblocks involved...and probably a film crew. There is no random showing up with huge animals around here! Looks like a fun place to work
