  1. Remember Amy got married July 4th and it rained a lot, but it was still beautiful! (maybe even more so). I've never been in July but I've been in August and it also rained a lot. Have a covered area for the rain and you will be fine
  2. You can also buy those chocolate or dessert flavored yogurts and freeze them, sort of like ice cream too.

  5. Susan is right, there are several threads about sand ceremonies so I am closing this one. Here are some I found fast by searching: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t37626 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39378 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39178 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t37437 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31416 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t17702
  6. One year ago today you got married!! I hope this year was filled with great memories and that each year gets better
  7. That's very pretty and unique at any age. I wonder why they won't give the name of the designer, that's odd. Good luck!

  10. This is always difficult. It sort of comes down to what matters more to you - doing it your way or sacrificing some of what you want so that your parents are pleased. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer because some people aren't that close with their parents so they don't mind so much if they aren't there or happy, and some people are very close with their parents so they bend a little to have them there and comfortable. I guess I would suggest to figure out where you fit in there and go with your instinct. Also, I hope your parents can consider your wishes and bend a little themselves. Good luck
  11. I'm not Jewish but when I was a kid we used to have a seder meal at school every year. My favorite thing to make and eat was always the apple/cinnamon mixture (the name escapes me?). They always served lamb though, never a delicious brisket like that. Yum!

I thought all these tenets came from some holy man who knew Jesus back in the day but nope, they came from a charismatic pagan who wasn't even Christian himself until on his death bed. They should have never taught me to read haha Quote: Originally Posted by katrina "love is my religion. take it or leave it, you don't have to believe it."- ziggy marley Amen to that! 13. I'm really gnostic because I follow a little of everything, but by birth I am Catholic. Like my fellow Catholics here I disagree with the outdated and biased stuff, but it isn't all bad and I participate from time to time. So far every religion I've studied has parts that make sense and parts that are bs. In the end most of them believe in the same basic principles of being good to people, and that is what matters to me. And ditto on funding someone's missionary trip, heck no! I too have issues with imposing religion on people, as if to say they don't have it right and need outside help. If a church group wanted to go abroad and do good deeds for poor people I would support that, but it's never just that. It's usually more like "here is some food...and the tenants of our religion which you'll need to save your soul". History shows what a terrible idea that is and how much culture is lost along the way. Actually I think it is pretty arrogant.
  14. Don't talk yourselves out of it guys. I did that for 5 seasons and gained weight when I should have been losing. Sign up!
  15. I don't have the time to do a search for you but there are multiple threads on this very topic with some good ideas. The search function is at the top of your screen above where it says 'welcome'.
  16. We have several DR brides here who haven't had incidents with illness, in fact I don't know if we have had one bride who did get ill. But I've also read accounts elsewhere of people containing themselves to the resorts and still getting very ill to where they were taken to a hospital (maybe not malaria but some sort of bacterial infection). When I landed in Jamaica a few years back they temporarily quarantined anyone who had been to DR recently for fear of malaria exposure, I think it is sort of common there. Again, our brides have not experienced this as far as I know, but I have heard of people taking cipro with them just in case, ask your doctor about that.
  17. Tickets to tapings are free and it can be really cool if you've never seen one before. You get to see all the behind the scene stuff and how segments are often taped out of order, the host or cast makes small talk with the audience between takes, etc. I don't know about Ellen specifically, but what usually happens with show tapings is that you get "tickets" that say to be at the studio at a certain time. You wait in line with a bunch of other people with "tickets" and only a certain number of you get in, the rest are turned away when capacity is full. So if you do come out here I would suggest getting to the studio really early to get a good spot in line. Good luck, I love that show
  18. Those did turn out really nice! I didn't know you performed weddings too, you are a busy woman
  19. No more excuses, I just sent my money to Ann before I could talk myself out of it. I am in! Here's to a productive 12 weeks everyone
