PV Golfing?
starchild replied to LCBride2007's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
A guest of mine golfs and is all excited to go to the Vista Vallarta Nicklaus course. It was used for a PGA tournament at some point but that's the most I know - sorry . . . check tripadvisor.com too, often they have personal reviews of local attractions. Hope that helped a little ;o) -
Rehearsal Dinner To Do's

It's hard to get to my wedding site so I think a rehearsal is out even if I tried. -

BM Jewelry
starchild replied to starchild's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Good points everyone. I thought of buying it in P.V. too where I can get high quality silver for the same price as costume jewlery here. I never heard of stein mart but I'll see if they have a website...clearance is good. I found some nice bulk sets on overstock.com too and I'll keep looking. I just don't want one bm to have huge hoops and a massive necklace and one to have little studs and a small pendant. Slightly different would work though. Thanks ;o) -
For those of you with BM's, are you providing jewelry for them to wear during the ceremony? I'm thinking that their earrings/necklaces should match since the dresses do. I don't know how I feel about asking them all to buy the same jewelry (another expense). I could include it with their thank you gifts (another expense for me ) What are you doing?

Thanks! I can personally vouch for the Zoo. Crazy fun if you love to dance. The first time I went there they were blasting Snoop Dogg, I stumbled in and a man in a full gorilla suit started pouring tequila down my throat, then pulled me on the dance floor and we were grooving!! The second time I went there (5 years later) a man in a gorilla suit pulled me on the dance floor again - LMAO! Not as chic as Nikki Beach or De Santos but a good old fashioned club right on the malecon.

what NOT to do when shopping for a photographer

I feel for whoever gets stuck with that one on her wedding day....yikes! -
The bachelorette party isn't until the wedding week in Mexico, but I am flying home for the bridal shower in April (which all 6 of them are planning btw) so yes Ann, I hope a little drinking will resolve this! K did find out by calling M so that is wrong. And yes, I realized there is more to this. M feels like she is always bailing K out (paying for things, loaning her $) and she felt she didn't have to be responsible for finding her a roommate. K feels like M always choses men over her. Whatever, we're too old for this. They haven't spoken yet, but they both called me apologizing for involving me in their mess when I am supposed to be happy about the wedding right now, so at least they are aware that they're being stupid. I'm sure it will blow over eventually. I considered no bm's but these 6 ladies have been instrumental in my life so it only felt right that they partake. Thanks for your opinions, I didn't want to tell my other bm's their drama so I'm glad to have you guys!

Today two of my bm's got into a major fight. Early on they discussed making travel arrangements together as they are both singles. Then they both had potential dates that would be going but nothing was ever set in stone either way. So today, one bm we'll call "K" phoned the other "M" to hammer out the details, and M tells her she is bringing a date and could no longer share accomodations. K tells her that she would have appreciated knowing that since M obviously knew this for awhile. M apologized and said she felt guilty, suggested other singles she may want to room with, and kind of tried to help her. K said she didn't know if she could afford to go alone at the last minute, and M said K should not have agreed to be in my wedding if she couldn't afford it, and suggested she find a cheap hotel in her price range. That's where it went south as M recently came into mucho money and has rubbed some people the wrong way with it. K was crying, M told me she only went there with the money after K would not accept her apologies and offer to help find another roomate. I come into this when K calls me to vent. I felt for her (struggling student, part time job) and said I had to get M's story too. M says she was going to offer to pay for K's whole trip until K got mad at her. Now both are cursing each other, M actually said she hates K, and they both vow not to speak until the wedding and even then it will be just civil enough not to make a scene. I don't know where I'm going with this but writing it out makes me see how silly it is, we've been friends for like 15 years. I told them both I'm glad it's not me in the mix of this drama and that I could care less if they are friends or not so long as they show up with the right dress. I'll be busy marrying the man of my dreams Thanks for listening......

Ocho Rios wedding idea...need opinions
starchild replied to MaureenM618's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Wow that does look beautiful, I love the gazebo where you would have dinner! I second that you should check into transportation to ensure all your guests arrive on time. We're honeymooning at the Riu Ocho Rios, it looks awesome! -

Julie I think Cuba is a great choice, I've personally never heard of a destination wedding there. Very unique! -
I did not indicate "and guest" on my STD's. I felt my STD's were too informal for that. I sent an envelope, addressed to the individual only or for relatives in the same house, I put "Smith Family" for example. The envelope included a magnet in a magnet holder and a letter briefly stating what we had planned for the person and any guests. We asked them to refer to our website - also printed on the magnet - for more information and gave them 3 months to rsvp if it was a trip they planned on making. Those rsvps included guests (if any) and we are sending our formal invites out based on that list.

PV?
starchild replied to DreaW's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Amy has great suggestions. Vallarta Adventures offers several tours and I've taken a few...can't go wrong with them. We chose Las Caletas for our wedding based on the Rythyms of the Night tour....very romantic!! And I've heard the best things about Nikki beach...having my bachelorette party night there during my wedding week. I always get my hair braided when I go to PV. They do it while you sit on the beach and it's relatively inexpensive, that's a fun girly activity. They'll braid you all at once so that can be fun plus it keeps you cool and bonus- you don't have to do your hair the whole trip! That's relaxing alone!! If that's something you want to do just sit on the beach, they'll find you. I wish I were going in 2 weeks!! -
I'm getting married at Las Caletas and there are several of us here so ask away!

Night before the wedding tradition
starchild replied to ~Melissa~'s topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We'll be together the day before with our guests and we planned on staying in our room together that night since I'll be leaving early the day of the wedding and won't see him until the ceremony. If we choose to separate that night afterall he'll just crash in one of his single GM's rooms, we're not booking an extra room for that one night. We're not the traditional type -

Our wedding is in Puerto Vallarta at Las Caletas. We fell in love with PV walking through the cobblestone streets in the moonlight, it is so romantic! We went to dinner at Las Caletas one night and the boat coming and going was like a club and the jungle scenery along the coast was breathtaking. After dinner we lounged in hammocks on the beach and watched the stars. There are no roads to Las Caletas so it was super quiet, it really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. We wished our friends/family could be there to see how beautiful it was. Then we found out they do weddings and it was a wrap! -
Jacuzzi - - - YES!!!!! Welcome back it's sounds like everything was absolutely wonderful!! We also are doing the fire dancers and our own music so I'm so glad you were pleased with that. I also want to use Roberto for the photos. With a group of people someone always gets seasick, sometimes you can avoid it unfortunately. I am so excited to use the bridal suite with my BM's all day and a jacuzzi is awesome!!! I know you ladies really enjoyed that!!!! Did you decide all your table decorations beforehand or did Nicole give you options when you got there? Can't wait to see some pics when you get settled in.
