  2. We sent postcards reminding guests to rsvp online but you can design these however you like. Very easy and high quality, glossy postcards. I had the most fun designing these. I added the images I liked, arranged them, picked a background, and added the wording for both sides. You can put a pic of you two or whatever you want. Fast shipping and $19.95 for 100. Highly recommended, nobody believed I designed them myself! FYI the site makes awesome stationary too. Business Cards & More at PrintsMadeEasy.com
  3. Wow I didn't know that about the alcohol, I hope you can get around it. And I was wondering what happened to Anny too.....Anny where are you?!?

  5. hmmm....let me look around, I may be able to find something like that
  6. Yay! I'm a Las Caletas bride too. We're at Dreams but many of our guests are staying at Velas Vallarta (AI).
  7. I had already planned for my bm gifts by the time I realized they needed jewelry for the ceremony too, so I didn't want to spend a lot more. I think I found the cheapest jewelry out there! We'll see about the quality later but this is what I decided on and check out their website if you need inexpensive jewelry. Some of their stuff is super cute. http://www.shopscarves.com/prodlist....=111&viewall=1 $7.50 per set Not jewelry but at $4 girl math said I had to get it..hehehe
  8. Thanks for sharing, Christa. Sounds like you had some really special moments. I'm sure most of us have cracked at one time or another or misdirected our frustrations on the good people who are always there (FI, parents). In the end it is about two people's love. Fortunately I have remained stress free for the most part but I remind myself of this when I start to lose it (bm dress problems, guest drama). My mother keeps telling me I am doing too much for my guests and to back off and let everything be, how they should be catering to us and not vice versa. I'm not a control freak but this is like the first huge event we have planned as a couple so naturally I want it to be my vision of perfection. But whether they have 5 items in their OOT bags or 25, when the guests go home it is all about our love. Thanks for the wisdom
  9. Sassy...I like that! It is actually from David's Bridal in "burnt orange". My color was tangerine but that is close enough. Price is $130 which is reasonable. Side bonus, a busy bm of mine was able to give her measurements via telephone and have it shipped to her house for an extra $15. She got it in about 4 weeks.
  10. I also say do a stealth call. Say you will be attending a wedding and want to know if you can bring your 17 year old son, or something like that. I'm not sure if they check id's. As a teenager I was served alcohol at bars in Mexico without showing id but a private resort like this may have stringent rules.
  11. Well I'm partial to my location There are several Las Caletas brides here now. Here it is and it may be what you are looking for: Puerto Vallarta Wedding Planner for Mexico Destination Weddings If not there are tons of people here planning weddings all over Mexico so you'll be able to make an informed choice. Best wishes!
  12. 15 working days for us!! Our respective employers really support weddings and we're taking full advantage!
  13. Amy beat me to it, Palmers makes the best from my experience. They also make something called "scar serum" that works well. Nothing I know completely get rids of them (
  14. hehehe...they may just need some alterations like my moh, she is a DD and the dress looks pornographic on her (ha!) but the rest are small in the chest. Two of them are so tiny their size 2 dresses were hanging off of their chests! Nothing wrong with variety LOL!
  15. Just a heads up, bridal shops told me that if your bm's order the same dress from different locations that the color may slightly vary. So the dresses of my bm's in S.F. may differ slightly from the one in L.A. and the one in New Orleans even though the manufacturer/color is the same. I think I may like some variation but they did say if you want to be certain they match to ask that all dresses be cast from the same dye lot. I don't think that applies to department stores where dresses are in stock, probably just bridal shops where they are produced as the orders come in. In other news my bm's dropped the ball and didn't order the dress in time that I've wanted since forever. It stung a bit but I'm over it (trying to remember what's important) and picked a new one that is okay too. They felt awful and ordered it right away so no more changes. Here is the old and the new: OLD (sad face) NEW (content face)
  16. That's nice, in that case I think that is totally cool and not at all rude. Bonus for Aaron!!
  17. Not necessary but we're doing program fans because they are cute and will help beat the heat. They aren't traditional and don't give the order of events, instead the front lists the wedding party and notes special people. The back has our favorite love poem and a thank you letter to our guests encouraging them to celebrate love.
  18. We did the pre-cana day last week at a church. It was one day (8-5) but for what they call "convalidated couples" meaning you live together or are already civilly married. We actually enjoyed it. We've lived together for 6 years so a beginner type class would have bored us. One funny moment was when they asked us to write down the most money we would feel comfortable spending without first consulting our spouse and then share and discuss amongst the two of us. Turns out FI wouldn't spend more than $50 without telling me first while I am totally comfortable spending $350 and telling him after the fact. Stuff like that comes up. It's fun to discuss and it never would have come up sitting around the house. Enjoy!
  19. I placed my bid like 4 days in advance and (like Maria said) in the last hour a few bids came in. I set my high bid at $10 and won for $3.50. I wonder how many cases of this stuff they have? Seems like it is always on auction! Good luck )
