Sorry, crazy weekend but YES, let's do 5/26. Since C & O seems pretty popular maybe we should meet there? It is really yummy. I'll make reservations when I know how many of us will be there. If anyone is bringing their FI let me know, mine will only come if he is not the only guy there....lol. C & O Trattoria 31 Washington Blvd Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 (310) 823-9491 Welcome to C & O Trattoria Online Let me know what you think )

It's no big deal if you follow post-surgery directions. I work in a dental related field and the people who have excruciating pain tend to ignore the dds's advice. Make sure not to smoke anything, suck anything through a straw, or spit. That will prevent dry sockets. I had 4 removed - 2 impacted - with only a bunch of shots of novacane and I felt no pain. If you're being sedated you really have nothing to worry about in terms of pain. The part that sucks most is after surgery when you do have some pain and bleeding. Remember not to spit blood out, rather use a tissue to dab it out if that makes sense. And lot's of ice, immediately and all night the first night so you have minimal swelling the next day. You can use a scarf to hold ice packs or bags of frozen veggies in place on both sides of your mouth. It really helps preventing looking like pumpkin head! You'll be fine and relieved to get it over with )

Moving in with Future Husband
starchild replied to soulmates's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Wow Kelly there are a lot of beings in your home, lol. That's all the more love in your house though so that's cool. My mom always said it's better to have a noisy house than a quiet one. We have date night too, love that!!! We moved in together almost immediately just over 7 years ago. I think we were both so excited to have our own place that we didn't sweat small stuff. To this day if something needs to be done whoever is home does it. When we're home together we do chores together - corny I know but we've never felt like one person carries most of the weight. There is no specific division of labor for us. It's always been like that. We each have habits that annoy each other (he'll get a new glass every hour instead of refilling, I'll leave books and papers everywhere) but nothing that's a dealbreaker, and I've found that people sharing a space - be they friends or lovers - get tired of eachother from time to time. When that happens I read and he plays video games and we're kissing in 2 hours. Have fun with it!! -
FI and I are common law married already and should have done this by now. Gotta get on it in the near future. I refuse to live on a machine and it would suck if I was kept around because I didn't write it out . . . thanks for the post.

A girlfriend of mine raves about The Caves. She travels the world almost year round (doesn't work - isn't she lucky) and from the South Pacific to the Indian Ocean she says that place is her fave! She goes there quite often. I've seen tons of pics, if you can swing it you won't be disappointed.

Sorry ( My program fans had a printing error and they said they would fix it for free and I would get it in about 10 days. I asked for a supervisor and explained that I could have used another company, what if my wedding was next week, etc. and I got them rushed at no charge so that I received them in 2 days. If they give you a problem ask for a supervisor and don't hang up until they give you what you need. Most companies worth their salt have a no-hang up policy for customers so make them meet your needs. Or keep them the way they are and everyone will be on time like Christine said.

OMG Christine I LOVE Mah Jong!!!! I grew up watching some heated mah jong games - people bet big money on this in real life. As kids we had to play in the corner, no money, lol. When I found it online while ago I got addicted too, lol.

Dreams Puerto Vallarta
starchild replied to tvt's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Only input I have is I'm staying there. I tried to contact them repeatedly about hosting a WD but they didn't get back to me for awhile. About a month after my many efforts I got a generic email and it just irked me because for the amount of money they probably charge I would have liked more consideration. The location is awesome though and if you can deal with sporadic information it may be worth it for you. -
Have you ever laughed so hard that milk came out your nose? Soda, it sucks Have you ever been scuba diving? bunjee jumping? sky diving? No....snorkeling and a hot air balloon ride is the closest I've come to that, very fun though Tell us three things about yourself the rest of the world doesn't know: 1. I'm currently addicted to those fruit & walnut salads from McDonalds - yum! 2. I have a subscription to the Sedona Journal and read it faithfully 3. When I was little I thought I was magic because I would fake sick to skip school saying my head hurt, and then my head would hurt. Same thing with sore throat, tummy ache, whatever I lied about to get out of 3rd grade (like it was so tough) would come true. That's how I learned about the power of suggestion and how everyone is magic if they focus on something enough, lol. What is the weirdest nickname you've ever been given from anyone? Hammy - from my family because I was a chubby baby When was the last time you laughed so hard that you cried? Last week in a work meeting, most of us were really tired = delirious. The manager leading the meeting asked someone what he thought of the new policy he had been explaining for the last 15 minutes, and my co-worker goes "I'm sorry, I spaced out". I lost it! I was so loopy and not into the meeting as it was, that set me off. I had to excuse myself and go to the bathroom to wipe the tears from my eyes. Maybe you had to be there . . .

Smores or no Smores
starchild replied to gkashmira's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I said maybe per Natasha's idea of cutting out some of the earlier sweets. Tough call though because you all will be drinking and for me anyway, when I'm drinking I crave salty not sweet so I don't know how the two will go together. But, smores at the beach bonfire sounds really fun and something your guests will totally enjoy. I think the price is reasonable too. If you opt out of the smores would they allow you to bring your own munchies, like get bags of chips from Costco or something? -
Brandy I want to squeeze their cheeks, your kids are the cutest!! We only gave ourselves about 9 months for the planning so I never had the chance to be totally bored. I agree with Kash, work on that website and getting everyone's addresses together. Actually anything that requires you getting people's cooperation/input, start on now. Other people slow you down man!!! You're lucky in that you have tons of time to dream and see how you can work those dreams into the budget. Watch the wedding shows, look at the magazines, google everything. Trust me that's the best part of planning!

To anyone in L.A. or the surrounding cities and valleys, we have a good group here so let's do dinner and drinks! Some of us couldn't make it to the O.C. gathering so let's do a part two. Those of you who went to the O.C. dinner are totally welcome to come to this one too. In fact, if you live far and want to fly to L.A. you can come too. . . we have good malls . . . maybe a little pre-wedding shopping spree weekend? ... I think a Friday or Saturday evening works well, what do you think? Off the top of my head I suggest these places that are good for groups: El Cholo - in L.A. or Santa Monica C & O Trattoria - in Venice or Marina Del Rey The Stinking Rose - Beverly Hills Fabiolus Cafe - Hollywood on Melrose (next to Paramount) Bungalow Club - L.A. on Melrose Let's get some more centrally located suggestions as well as possible dates. Thanks this should be fun!

To me, thats not what a vacation is about, I like to relax, but I also like to see and do things, especially somewhere we've never been before. Here here. I'm all about experiences too and if you can't have it all, and many people can't, you may as well pick what's important to you as a couple and go for that. Besides my memory is pretty darn good, and like Maria said, any photo can jog it.

Plus, a snapshot with a point-and-shoot is just a likely to make me remember a memory as a really expensive, journalistic style photograph. I'd rather spend the money on fabulous food, entertainment and "spoiling" our guests the best we can. Yes, it would be nice to have some great photos, but I don't ever remember my parents pulling out their wedding photo album hardly at all, nor my sister, nor my brother, nor my future in-law's in the time I've known them. Good point. After the initial "this was my wedding, here are the pics" I've never seen anyone pull out the albums. In fact, I've been to plenty of weddings where I never even saw the albums at all.
