  1. Yeah I think you would have to pre-print some stuff....hmm. Nice idea about assigning a few important people and letting the rest sit where they want.

Ann I didn't get a layout from Nicole but that's what I want and you know how flexible she is, anything goes. At our site inspection a few days before the wedding we are going to solidify our decisions once we see the layout and what would work at that time. If you aren't doing a site visit I guess you should consider the space & size of your guest list and talk to her asap to see what your options are. I was considering doing a bunch of 4-6 people tables like another LC bride here did (arrrgh I cannot remember her name right now but she had a pretty red theme). For us I think that people would be too spread out and I wanted us all kind of at one table. Plus I come from a big Italian family where we are used to all eating and talking and shouting at one big table! LOL!!
  4. Yeah they look awesome. I was going to use them to do my welcome dinner but their price for appetizers and cocktails alone was almost as much as an entire dinner at most restaurants, plus that didn't even include venue rental fees. I think they would do an amazing job if you could work with their fee schedule though.
  5. Thing is only 2 of the 12 are bringing dates, the others are bringing friends who could afford to share a package with them. So it's not like they're couples. I was thinking of putting all those people together, lol, but I hear what you are saying. I thought of no seating chart but didn't want the akward situation of asking someone to move down if their freshman year college roomate whom I've never met sat closer to me than my parents or family. Hmm...still not sure here, no seating chart would be wayyyy easier though. Maybe I'll do that and see what happens.
  6. Thanks, I read that but it was kind of dated so I was wondering what the latest is. I appreciate your response though )
  7. We have a small wedding (roughly 35 people) so I think we are having a t-shaped formation - head table for two and one long table branching off of that one. Should the wedding party be seated closest to us or the parents? I know the wedding party usually shares a table with the bride and groom but we are having our own table. What about the bm/gm's dates or guests? Can they sit farther off alone or do I need to make room for them up front next to the wedding party? I don't know some of them so I'd rather not have guests of the wedding party sitting closer than relatives, but is it tacky for them not to sit next to the person who brought them?
  8. Welcome Ally! I always hear about the Windjammer on Regis & Kelly - it's one of their giveaway resorts. How exciting and beautiful! Your wedding is coming up fast - let us know if you need anything )
  9. So I'm researching Jamaica for our honeymoon in a few weeks and I've always wanted to go to the blue lagoon. From what I'm reading it seems like it has not been accessible since hurricane Ivan. I read somewhere about a secret entrance through some bushes or something shady like that. Does anyone have more info on if it's open?
  10. I'm too opinionated for this discussion so I'm forcing myself to refrain ) In terms of the safety, most resort towns are safe in Mexico. As someone said Mexico City is realllly dangerous for Americans/tourists in general right now. So is northern Baja. FI was supposed to have his bachelor party in Rosarito last month but cancelled it as a lot of Americans are being attacked/killed there. Something happened (maybe someone else remembers) but it had to with our FBI or DEA and one of their citizens, and there was a lot of anger towards the US and anyone representing us. Also a few months back the Mexican military was sent to Tijuana to take the weapons away from their police because they were using them to abuse too many Mexicans and tourists. I don't know if they got them back yet. The times I've been to Puerto Vallarta there have always been masses of federales with machine guns walking the streets/riding in the back of trucks. I've always felt safe in their presence, but if I was breaking the laws there I would have been terrified...lol. Now in TJ the police have always scared the sh*t out of me. I've seen them rob tourists with my own eyes. I don't think anyone is marrying in TJ/Rosarito though...hehehe If you use common sense like you would at home all should be well. And I would like to add many Mexicans live in Mexico and are safe ) So it's not like violence is prevalent everywhere, criminals take advantage of distracted people no matter where you are.

  12. hehehe....well there's always braids but those curls are so darn cute, a mother's work is never done I guess )
  13. The seashells are a great idea, and Kelly your ribbon idea is so special. How cute!! We bought some nice matting that fits in a frame and everyone will sign it/write their wishes. When we get our photos back we will put the group shot in that frame so everyone's face and signature is there. If we ever forget who was there that will remind us. P.S. Kelly Liam is adorable!!!! I love his curls )
  14. My STD magnets were about $65 for 75 magnets and looked like this: Save The Date Magnets for Your Wedding!* Featuring Wedding Magnets, Photo Magnets and Favors! They were about the size of a business card, very cute and totally reasonable. My postcards to remember to rsvp to the STD website were $30 for 100 and also were better than I could have imagined for the price for sure. I designed them myself. Business Cards & More at PrintsMadeEasy.com My invitations were priced individually at $4 each set and I totally love them, good quality, and very fast. I kept changing designs and fonts and got to see like 5 proofs before I chose the final one. I do calligraphy so I did my own on the envelopes. The White Aisle : Unique Wedding Favors and Invitations I wouldn't spend too much for something most people throw away, but if you're big on having the best of things it may be worth it to you. My co-worker spent $12 per invitation and they were amazingly beautiful - it still ended up in the trash can though
  15. Jen, I leave on 5/30 so I know what you mean. I figure I'll be busy myself but I think you ladies will help calm me down....it may be just what I need. Plus FI will be out of town and I'd rather not drink alone - ha! Let us know if you think you can make it ) Natasha we'll have to do another one later that you can come to!!
  16. Yesssssssss!! I'm happy they're on it. Things will get sorted out - you have a wedding to attend!!
  17. FI is flying to Vegas on the 26th for the UFC fight so I will be coming solo. I can borrow a man if anyone's FI wants to come and not be the only guy, otherwise it's just the ladies. BTW, besides Andrea and I, who else is in for C & O's on 5/26?
  18. You guys probably already know this, but I looked for somewhere over the rainbow on the 50 First Dates soundtrack and it isn't there. From reading comments on Amazon it seems that this is a big scandal as it was left off, but it can be found on the artist's album. His name is Israel "Iz" Kamamawiwo'ole and apparantly it is a medley of sotr and what a wonderful world.
  19. Okay, I don't know about the congressman thing and how he can help you but I found yours based on your location of Satellite Beach, so it's a start: Congressman Dave Weldon 2725 Saint Johns St Melbourne, FL 32903 (321) 632-1776 If that's wrong, you can find all your state's reps here: Office of the Clerk +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You may have this but if you don't: 1-877-4USA-PPT ( 1-877-487-2778 ), TDD: 1-888-874-7793 Live Operator Service available 6:00 a.m. to midnight ET, M-F; and limited weekend hours to make emergency arrangements for travelers departing in 7 days or less. Hopefully someone else here knows more, if I find any other helpful info I will let you know. It will work out, it has to )
  20. I have to check out that 50 first dates somewhere over the rainbow, I keep hearing about it! We are having "Golden Time Of Day" by Frankie Beverly & Maze because it is about sunsets and love and our wedding is at sunset, plus we LOVE FB & Maze.
  21. I say spa/shopping but that can get expensive if you're trying to save for your own wedding right now. Hmmm....what about a picnic? You can get her favorite foods, do pedicures, look at old photos. Just spend some time talking about the old days and where your futures are going as soon to be married women. My friend got a journal when I moved away and we both wrote down our thoughts and wishes, top 10 favorites/dislikes in a bunch of categories. It's funny now to read it now and see how we've changed and stayed the same. She may appreciate a relaxing day where you can just lay around and giggle.

  23. Cool . . . and cute signature pic by the way, you're all so pretty!
