I live in Hollywood but will travel for good shopping...lol I bet the Macy's at the Beverly Center or Glendale Galleria has a Tommy Bahama section too...have to check that out. I leave on 5/30...one week. I can't wait either!!!!
  2. Have you priced villas or other rentals? I'm not familiar with Cabo but I know in other parts of Mexico sometimes a rental with a maid and cook is the same or less costly than some resorts? That would be the ultimate in seclusion and luxury for sure!
  3. Yay, we are faithful date-nighters too! Occasionally we go out for fabulous dinners but mostly we keep it simple also. We bbq, watch movies at home, have bonfires on the beach, go to Dodger games, rent pedal boats, visit museums, etc. It's all easy, close, and inexpensive. There is a park we've loved since we started dating. We hike up to the top of the hills where there is a killer view of L.A. and picnic. It always grounds us to go somewhere we frequented when our love was new and we had nothing. Do you guys have a place that is special to you like that?

  6. Laura you've just turned my excitement up a thousand notches!!!! First of all you are beautiful and your dress is amazing. Everything looked great! I love the guayaberas the men wore too. Looks like the weather was perfect. And how precious are your flower girls?!?! Thanks for coming back and sharing....I'll be there next week to follow in your footsteps!!!!!!!!
  7. Yay Brenda!!! Tell us all about it when you come up for air )
  8. Thanks guys Jamy Jones it is...why not. Glenda I like that you said it sounds sultry LOL!! I love sultry ) I am getting super excited now!!!!!
  9. Friday we went to court to make it official so there's no turning back now. The LAX Courthouse rocks! They had a private chapel with a festive wedding arch and music. The little old judge that married us was so cute!! She had tears in her eyes while reading us the stuff about what marriage is, it made it a little more real. I thought we were going to miss our appointment. We hit traffic and had to stop for cash since they don't take cc, and of course we had to stop to fill up our flask on the way Once we arrived it couldn't have been easier. Our witnesses were there, we stood in line, paid our $25, had our 10 minute ceremony, then went out for beer and sopes...mmm We spent the weekend with our cellphones turned off, that was nice. Anyhoo, leaving for the real wedding in about a week

We have read on this forum that some people have used a restaurant in PV which is owned by a man from Chicago. For those of you who used his restaurant for your dinner, may I ask what his ballpark per-head charge is? Hi, sounds like Barcelona Tapas. My dinner is there in 2 weeks. You're able to tweak the menu to your wishes so depending on what you want I would say between $30-50 per person.
  11. Thanks Nicole......how beautiful!! I'll be there 2 weeks from today lounging in a hammock----can't wait!!!!!!!
  12. Pay it. We spend all this money on OOT bags and such to make them feel welcome so consider this part of their warm welcome. Your guests have already shelled out a considerable amount of money to get there. To then ask them to pay an admission fee to attend the wedding is ridiculous. Can you imagine going to a wedding at the Hilton in your city where you get there and they ask you to pay $100 to get inside? As a guest that would completely turn me off. Hey that may be a good way to cut down your guest list....lol. It sucks that there is a fee at all but unfortunately that burden is yours since you chose the location. I agree that even if you have to sacrifice something else you should work this into your budget. These resorts must make a killing off of weddings!!
  13. Everything looks amazing, great colors in those photos too! Congrats )
  14. I may be the first June bride - June 2nd @ Las Caletas
  15. Good for you Leigh...keep losing 3 pounds at a time and you'll be where you want to be! You have plenty of time )
  16. LOL no problem! Aren't their designs gorgeous?!? Very soft & thick paper too. The owner of white aisle was awesome to work with! Everytime I asked her to change something it was done within 24 hours and there were no extra fees for changing things as much as I wanted. In fact, what I wanted should have been $5/invitation but she suggested a way to do it for $4 each to save me money. You'll have a great experience with them, strongly recommended!

  18. Uh-oh don't tempt me...I usually go up there for labor day anyway. If I'm there I'll crash your wedding! I'll eat before I get there and bring my own liquor to keep costs down, I know how it is!! LOL!

My poor friend who can't make it to Mexico is one witness and my brother is supposed to be the other - but stop on by if you wish! LAX courthouse 1pm! LMAO!! We'll be the couple in the corner with our flask Quote: We did not exchange rings or do anything special. We did not need a witness. And we didn't dress up. It was a cold day so I was in a black juicy sweatsuit. Really romantic, I know. Right now that sounds good to me, it's been kinda gloomy lately so my original idea of a white happy dress may turn into my good sweats a ponytail and flip flops! If I'm feeling sporty I may throw on earrings...hehehe
  20. Yep Tammy you look hot, ditto on the Madonna eyes...they're very dreamy ) It's worth the money when you look and feel that beautiful!
  21. OMG you read my mind! My civil ceremony is in 2 days and I was just going to ask you guys what I need to bring. If we can we'll just ask the judge to skip the rings part. In fact we have no readings or vows either. I just need the darn paper so I can get the free champagne and bath robes on my honeymoon!! I'm calling tomorrow to ask them what I need, but I think it's fairly simple. There are like 6 courthouses in L.A. that schedule them every 15 minutes so it can't be too involved.
  22. Great to know for people in your area, it's hard to find a reasonable and good seamstress sometimes!
