  1. hahaha...I swear Ann and I don't miss an opportunity to spread the Caletas love...so funny!
  2. Welcome! Of course I'm going to suggest Las Caletas but I'm a little biased...lol. Their planners actually are American but live in PV. In any event you'll get more than enough advice here. Happy planning! Just in case: Puerto Vallarta Wedding Planner for Mexico Destination Weddings

My brother designed a contract for him to use for future welcome dinners...wonder if he's using it? lol
  4. Yes!! Barcelona Tapas. I should be getting paid for all the PR I do for them, lol, but honestly they have killer food and spectacular views. Best food I've had in PV yet. Go just before dusk so you catch the sunset. Once it's dark you see the fireworks shows too, it's breathtaking up there. Make sure to have a few tequila creams for me )
  5. I don't remember fifteen but I do vaguely recall Welcome freshman. I know what you mean about wanting soooo bad to be in high school. Head of the class used to do that to me!!
  6. I guess you can do it both ways? When we were eating at Mammee Bay there was a reception next to us (a small one) but there were two tables. But what the heck do I know, I'm not a RIU bride I just horn in on your threads...lmao!
  7. I love love. Thanks for so candidly sharing your joy and your pain. Life isn't easy but it's a hell of a lot more pleasant with true love by your side. I wish health to your families and a happy marriage to you both. Peace and blessings to you )
  8. Awww Kash you look amazing, you should be very happy with your photos. I love the black and white with the colored flowers...nice! They're all nice, you know what I mean.
  9. I'm glad you found a place for your doggie...that would have freaked me out too! Have a fabulous wedding )
  10. Sweet...C&O's is Will's sweet spot too. Anywhere that gives massive portions of pasta is great with him. So you, me, Drea, Jen, and Kash are out here.....I'm forgetting people?
  11. Yay! I say guys too (unless anyone is opposed). If Erik goes then Will surely will go...he just won't want to be the only guy - been down that road before..lol Definitely a Friday or Saturday, right? Those work best for me & hopefully for everyone else. And yes everyone and anyone is invited for sure!! Let's try a date in August or September at the latest. Are we still cool with C&O's by the beach in Marina del Rey/Venice? Any other suggestions?
  12. Oh yeah...MMC was cool! I was a member..haha, it cost like $15 and I had to save my money to join. I got a membership card and a bunch of garbage, ha! Kids Inc. was one of my childhood favorites too! It had a bunch of kids that grew up to be famous - Jennifer Love Hewitt, Fergie, Rahsaan Patterson, that Martika girl but I don't know what happened to her? You can't do that on television came on Nickelodeon and was a kids variety sketch show. It was pretty darn funny too.
  13. Once you said Carrusel it all came back...un carrusel de ninos, un carrusel de amor...LOL I do remember Quincenera, funny. My friend just told me XuXa posed in Spanish Playboy....I didn't know that! Okay how about You Can't do that on television or Kids Incorporated? Anyone remember those? A few stars came out of those shows.
  14. OMG!!! Carrusel...that's it!!! I don't believe you found that!! That clip almost made me cry, it makes me feel so little. Awww thanks Amy!! And yes Xu Xa was so fun, look what I found: YouTube - Xuxa Park España, Danz do Paloe

I know I'm spelling that wrong, but she was hot and had a talk show...so funny. Please tell me you remember those Hey it's not Carnival it's Carousel....or something like that?
  16. From what I saw at Mammee Bay it is a 8 person table, no big long one.

I also do not think it will affect any of the wedding planning at Dreams, but thanks for pointing that out Debs, I never thought about that. I was also wondering for those of you who bought your dress, once you bought it did it make everything seem so much more real? I have been so giddy about this wedding since I bought my dress. Maybe it is because my mom was here for 4 days and we got some things accomplished for the wedding, or maybe because we decided on and confirmed our resort, but I am really getting geeked!! We did ours in CA 2 weeks before Mexico, really only because we wanted the marriage license for our honeymoon perks at both resorts..lol (FYI - Dreams required a copy before they would decorate the room, give us the special dinner, etc. The RIU Ocho Rios did not.) Also we wanted to relax when we got to Mexico and not run around to get the paper/bloodwork done. (and they don't take blood in CA - woohoo!) As for the dress, I didn't take mine home until less than a week before I left for the wedding so while it seemed more real, I didn't have long to mull over it. When I brought it home FI was gone so I hung it up and stared at it until just before he got home. I didn't see it again until I got to Mexico and showed my friends.
  18. Tres leches is this super moist kind of white cake. It's called tres leches (3 milks) because it is made with milk, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. You basically let the cake absorb the milks. It tastes pretty much like vanilla and is soooooooo good. Tara if you get the white cake at Las Caletas that is what you'll have - well unless you request something else. I make my own but it's never as good as the bakery...of course!

I also love to dance and knew I would get hot fast in my formal gown - and I did! I brought one just in case I was really hot and I was so glad I had the option to change. It was a white cotton halter dress with a handkerchief hem, also came to about the knee. Super simple and lightweight. Maybe get something inexpensive and bring it in case you get to a point where you want to change?
  20. Good find, I wish I knew about it for my bm's...they went out to Pinole!

That was my friend's only complaint when she stayed there. She didn't get ill (but I read about that online too) but she did say it really sucked, even the Mexican food. I think she said breakfast was the best. She said it is beautiful though, but when there are so many good AI's in PV with great food it's kind of hard to justify.
