  1. For my penny pinching brides . . . You know I don't do makeup but last year someone turned me on to e.l.f. (eyes lips face) because they were new and everything cost $1. I bought like13 lipglosses and 2 lipliners cause that's all I know how to apply. It is actually quite moisturizing/long lasting and I'd pay at least $10 each if that was the price. Now, their products are still just $1 each - most of them. I got a coupon for $5 of $20 purchase and the code is EGFT28-07. You can get like 10 lipsticks, 5 mascaras, and 5 eye shadows for $15...not bad. They have tons of makeup for $1 if you know how to put it on..lol. Get a free cosmetic bag with pruchase as well. Check it out: Shop Eyes Lips Face

I keep my lipgloss/chapstick with me at all times but that's it (avon dew kiss...the best!) I have bare essentuals (sp?) for special occasions and that's not even hardcore makeup but it looks really natural and is bold enough for me. I used that on my wedding day. My bm's are so into makeup & one of them used to work at MAC at Nordie's so I leaned on them. One of my bm's did my eye makeup, one did my face, and I did my lips because I can handle that. They say on your wedding day you should look like your natural self but a little spiced up...that was me. Nothing too exaggerated or I would have felt like I was a woman of the night....lol. Have your friend that's good with makeup do it and spend the money on some really good wedding day perfume )
  3. I'm not exactly sure how fancy you want it to be, but have you tried Target? Honestly they have a crazy variety of dresses and you'd be hard pressed to spend more than $20-25. That's where I sent my flower girl's mother because I didn't want her to invest in something she'd probably only wear once. This is what she got:

The atmosphere I'm looking for is casual and fun - we really want our guest to meet and mingle so we were thinking instead of a full sit down dinner - just cocktails and heavy appetizers or buffet type dinner. Never heard of Spiaggia? Ours came to almost $50 pp but the original quote was $29, we just added some things including alcohol. We had about 35 people I believe. Cocktails and apps would totally work rather than a full dinner. The awesome thing about BT is that food is served family style - they bring platters and everyone digs in. This was invaluable for mingling because everyone was sharing food and food is quite the unifier...lol You could do it quite inexpensively at BT if you just selected a few tapas and drinks rather than a full menu. 5. Great! We ordered the natural linen pants from them for our gm's and were very pleased with the service & quality. Happy shopping!

  7. So funny! I randomly found a guy I went to elementary school with who is apparantly quite the womanizer both at Duke law school and when he's home in California on breaks. Nice.
  8. I don't think it would make your dress look dirty at all! But I looked anyway...lol This is cream...not really the ivory you're looking for Amazon.com: Men's Cream Dress Shirt w/ Convertible Cuffs: Apparel This says ivory but you wouldn't know until you order it: Offwhite Linen Amalfi Shirt (long-sleeve) - Island Importer This comes in white, ivory (off-white), or natural: Linen Amalfi Shirt (short-sleeve) - Island Importer
  9. Yep. It's like making a photo album book but I guess there is a template for pages that guests sign?

  11. What a nightmare!! Obviously this wasn't my experience because I loved it there, but stuff happens. All you can do is cross your fingers and hope it doesn't happen during your stay. We stayed at a hotel in PV once where the AC was broken so I called the front desk and they told me it "takes a break" 3 days out of the month. Lucky us, it was 3 of the 4 days we were there ( Crossing fingers for all our Riu Ochi brides....the tropics are miserable with no AC.
  12. Fabulous!! Have fun and come back to tell us all about it!!
  13. Well first of all time is on your side so be thankful for that! Some of us (me for sure) gave ourselves less than a year to start planning. I would say start by making a list of your desires and separate them into categories - won't have my wedding without, really would like but can live without, etc. Then start looking around for prices on what you need and you'll get an idea of how much to budget. I'm the worst budgeter I don't believe I just gave someone advice...DH would crack up if he read this LOL. There are a lot of people here who can do math and stuff (not me) so I know you'll get help ) Perhaps this will help you get a feel for what others have done budget-wise: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...33-budget.html
  14. Ha! This site slays me....I bet we've all dated someone worthy of being called out... Women. Dating. Safer. Smarter. DontDateHimGirl One of my favorites: Derrick "D., Dizzel" Cline Will cheat on you multiple times with highschool hoes. When dating him he will say I love you as much as possible to make you believe it, and then when he suddenly can't trust you, dumps you. Says he's too young, and immediately knocks up his rebound. . Smokes his brain away among other drugs.. DOES NOT THINK! His highschool education is questionable at best. Treats you like a slave. Treats you like shit. Seriously girls, its not worth the time, his friends will warn you ahead of time, and they are RIGHT!
  15. You guys just inspired me to do cupcakes for our AHR...I love projects!!
  16. I came across this personalized guest book...it's a little elaborate but would make for a cool keepsake/coffee table book. Picaboo Wedding Idea Center
  17. I'm in! How beautifully coordinated everything looks! Your dress is gorgeous and the short version is hotttt...and that orange dress in #520 is badass!! Congrats to you both, what a beautiful day )
  18. Amy everything looks amazing!! I love how creative you are...if you lived closer to me I would totally have craft hour with you
  19. You aren't alone, I got sick of wedding planning too so I stopped, lol. And it still turned out perfectly, yours will too )
  20. We did ours on a Saturday to make an easy 3 day weekend trip for some of our family. Weekdays cost the same as weekends where we got married so that wasn't a factor for us. If it's cheaper on a weekday make it a Friday for sure.
  21. I know nothing about Cabo but I'm glad you're here!!
