  1. I was married in Las Caletas in June too (I'm Jamy). We also had been there before and found out they did weddings, crunched some numbers, and found that few other places compare to Las Caletas. Their coordinators are awesome! The biggest selling point is the privacy which is hard to buy at many other places. I'm excited for you....ask away )
  2. I did too, about 2 weeks before the wedding. I was pretty brief but included what to pack, weather, time zone change info, how to navigate the PV airport, brief itinerary, and an invitation to the WD. I put together a more detailed info packet that they received in their OOT bags when they got there.
  3. I also say to throw some orange in. Our colors were orange, chocolate, and cream and there are some trees at LC with orangish/brownish leaves...the orange in our color scheme complimented the foliage quite nicely.

  8. Another detailed Dreams review. Thanks Courtney! I think few resorts are flawless but there seems to be way more pros than cons. Great flicks too...you had a killer view!
  9. Welcome to the forum. May will be a beautiful time. Scour the Las Caletas thread, there's a lot of good stuff there. Feel free to ask me or any of us LC brides anything you want. Our weddings were all very much the same with a few different touches here and there. And as you can tell we are all very proud of our LC weddings!! Smooth sailing indeed, don't worry about a thing. Happy planning.

  18. We'd been to Rythyms of the Night before, so Las Caletas was kind of a special/romantic place to us. Also we were intrigued by the history of Las Caletas. We knew we weren't going to do a scouting trip no matter where we got married so we also kind of wanted a place we had set foot on before so there were no surprises. And we wanted somewhere totally private which I only found in a villa or Las Caletas. Majahuitas is close to private, but the hotel is there and there are no walls on the rooms/buildings so even though the hotel is small, there would be onlookers and it wouldn't be our private island paradise feeling as was Las Caletas. Finally, I had confidence in Vallarta Adventures and knew with them I'd be in good hands. They do tons of weddings. The lady I was in contact with at Majahuitas was also kind and knowledgeable but they don't do too many weddings (or they hadn't at the time). It's a resort on a beach that does the occasional wedding. I think they were more expensive too. I can see if I saved that email if you want some info. I'm sure the weddings are amazingly beautiful!!
  19. Before settling on Las Caletas we were considering a villa or Majahuitas. Majahuitas is a beautiful secluded beach and there is an open-air boutique hotel there. It is south of PV. They do complete weddings too. It's similar to Las Caletas in that there are no roads there so your guests would arrive and depart by boat. Their food is highly spoken of and the lady I was in touch with - briefly - was very nice and on the ball. It's definitely one of those unique places your guests will continue to rave about. It would make a lovely honeymoon too. Mexico Boutique Hotels presents Majahuitas
  20. Ooh Majahuitas...almost did ours there too. I should make a post about it.
  21. Since you're staying at the Westin you'll definitely go to Nikki Beach because it's on site (club). Beautiful place with beds and pillows on the beach, drinks aren't cheap so if you wanna save $$ keep a bottle in your room to get tipsy before heading down to the club . . .haha. If I stayed there that's what I would have done. My standard PV endorsements are: Zoo Bar - don't miss it if you're party people. Barcelona Tapas for excellent food & views. Rhythyms of the Night dinner tour to Las Caletas OR day tour to Las Caletas For wedding sites try to contact a few places in advance and see if you can set up meetings. Besides what you mentioned, maybe Velas Vallarta, Dreams, Las Caletas, Marriott Casamagna....our PV resident can probably give you more info. Have you considered a wedding at a private home? That was what we were doing until we found Las Caletas. I have tons of that info saved if you want it.
  22. We left Mexico and went to Ocho Rios and stayed at the Riu for 7 days. We didn't make any plans either and are glad we didn't because after the wedding/entertaining guests in Mexico we sooooo needed quiet us time. We spent 10 hours a day in the ocean and/or pool. It was glorious. Christine is so right. Do nothing at least 3 days and just enjoy each other. We became best friends all over again, you're spirit will thank you )
