Oops...didn't mean to start a panic . . .LOL I only brought it up as an example of how au natural LC is. Nicole told everyone and there are signs by the toilets - that's how we noticed it. Like Lindsay says they keep it clean, maybe they empty the trash often? Again, it's not like the bathrooms are well lit so if something ugly were in the trash it's not on display like it would be in most bathrooms. Sorry for the confusion guys, the bathrooms are the least of any worries.

We've set the date!
starchild replied to Starfish's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Yay!!! That's my parent's anniversary and they've been married 34 years if that means anything...lol The date is set - now on to the fun stuff!!!!! -
I've had a version of the better than sex cake before....so good! They both sound decadent . . . do you think I could adapt them into cupcakes?

We didn't pay for any centerpieces, only extra bags of petals. I believe Nicole suggested 2-3 bags of petals which would include some for the flower girl and some for the tables. I think we ordered 3 or 4. We only had 35 guests so maybe you would need 5 bags? Ask your WC but even at $125 it's still inexpensive. Centerpieces are such a personal decision! Are you doing a site visit? If so, you may find that the location is the decoration, having nothing but plates & glasses would be stunning. I considered them, but in my case they would have been a waste of money. Sometimes less is more. BUT, keep in mind, our approach to the wedding was really laid back and more about marrying each other than decorating tables (we're simple romantic saps...lol). That's just us, if you have a vision of what you want by all means go for it!!! Side note, packages include 2 centerpieces for free, and those were moved to the dinner tables after the ceremony. That's something to consider if you don't want to pay for 100's of dollars in centerpieces. I know my pics never show up for you, but in case it works this time, you can see our setup with petals only. The vase with calla lillies & leaves wrapped in orange ribbon was taken from my guest book table as one of the included so I didn't pay extra for it. If you need me to email you pics let me know. Good luck!!

They used some of mine from the wedding and some of their own. I really liked the music they picked though, one of their songs was in French and it rocked! I'm sure you can get more specific about what you want and they'll do it. The only thing I specified was to make sure and get each guest alone, but if you have song requests I'm sure they'll accomodate you.

The company I ordered the monograms from sell products with the monogram on it (including stickers) so I just ordered them online. I used a screenprinting company for the OOT bags, so I emailed them the digital file and they transferred it onto the bag. Some people do it themselves by putting transfer paper in their printers and printing the monogram file on it, then ironing on the transfers. You can make DIY projects out of anything you need, but I'm the wrong one to ask....I got to a point where I preferred to pay someone else to do it.

In my case I went through creative montage, and the design price included 6 versions. So there were 6 different designs/motifs with our names or initials for me to choose from. I own all of them, but selected one to use. That one monogram I decided on was used on my photo stamps, stickers, OOT bags, etc. It is a digital file that you can do what you want with. Hope that helps.

If it will be hot at your wedding I recommend having some type of fan for your guests. I ordered our fans through Jean M. I think these were quite reasonable considering I lacked the patience for a DIY project. They come in a bunch of different colors. This is how they turned out - minus the black lines of course..lol Looking for fan programs? Shop Jean M

My video was decent and definitely worth having. Nicole told me they don't do the mid-level video anymore, so we got the one that was listed as most expensive - I haven't check the site lately so I'm not sure what's listed now. It wasn't state of the art but it was cool and included the boat ride over with the guests, pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, some reception and the entire fire dancer show. We also had the video guy go to each guest individually and record their toast which was awesome to see later. This was a personal choice as we didn't do traditional toasts out loud to save time and boredom...lol. We had 3 other guests videotaping on their own. This was cool because what the pro video guy didn't get we got anyway. It was mostly stuff like side conversations and things that most people wouldn't care to see but it was fun for us. The pro version is nice and succinct to show highlights for people who didn't go.

I hope some of our pros here have some feedback on them. They make photo books too . . . besides the prints I'm thinking of doing an album with them. The prints are so cheap I'm ordering them and if they suck I'll only have lost a few bucks, but I think they'll be really good. I'll let you know what I think when I get them.

Yeah Creative Montage has been awesome!! Not only did I get like 6 logos for $15, they reworked each one to my specifications - for free. The owner personally responds to emails fast and is so nice. The stickers were awesome and arrived really fast. They make other cool logo items like coasters, lip balm, etc. Highly recommended.

If you decide to go with petals over centerpieces, I would strongly suggest getting real petals. Honestly they are so eco-friendly at LC I don't think they would go for fake petals in case they scatter everywhere, like people said. They don't even allow you to flush toilet paper so the fake petals may be a problem. The real ones really aren't expensive . . .I think they were $25 a bag. If you were indoors somewhere trying to simulate a tropical environment maybe fake ones would do, but since you're on a real beach in a real jungle why not use real flowers? Plus they smell nice. Just something to consider )

Isn't that the rudest shit ever? Like you just told them in June or something, freakin losers. Not just yours, but mine and everyone's who bailed when they should have thought about their answer before saying "of course" from the start. It doesn't matter though, and you will have your dream wedding because you are marrying your dream man. My closest cousin told me she was going until the week before the wedding when she still hadn't booked then couldn't afford it . . . yeah stupid because what would have been $700 over 8 months is now $1200 due tomorrow . . . I still haven't talked to her. My mom says she's embarassed but you know what? We're all adults and people need to be honest. I would never agree to be in a DW if I knew I couldn't swing it. It hurts, I know, but it won't ruin your day AT ALL, trust me, you won't miss them when you see your man waiting for you!!
