  1. Welcome to the forum and happy planning )
  2. We wanted fans for the heat and to print our poem on, and since we had a decent sized wedding party we combined it all into a double sided fan with a note to guests:

  4. Those photos just made me misty eyed....my hubby and I did some super bonding there.....sigh. That aerial shot of the Riu is awesome!
  5. Our choice was based on the fact that we didn't want to wait too long from the time we were engaged. My parents anniversary was about 9 months away and fell on a Saturday so that was supposed to be it - but that day was booked so we took the following Saturday.
  6. Love your dress and flowers. I like the dinner table set up, how people are facing each other. Too cute!
  7. Mine was kind of short too because it was the first page of a monogrammed booklet I made that included detailed info (color maps, history of PV, health tips, sightseeing, shopping, emergency contacts, etc.) I wrote: Bienvenidos a Mexico! You made it!! Hopefully the trip down was a good one, now it's time to party. Remember to drink lots of water and use your sunscreen - even if you never get burned. We are closer to the equator here and everyone is subject to skin damage. Wear a hat if you brought one or buy a festive hat in town. We'll see you at 7:30 p.m. at our Welcome Dinner Friday, June 1st at Barcelona Tapas. The taxi drivers know where it is. Don't forget to be on time for the wedding boat on Saturday at the Maritime Terminal - 4 p.m. Remember to bring the entry pass you receive at dinner Friday night. If you forget it there will be a nominal entry fee at the marina. You are in one of the most romantic cities in all of Mexico. Take a moonlight stroll down a cobblestone street, shop along the Malecón, have luch alongside the Rio Cuale. Enjoy your stay )
  8. It seems like you've been gone forever!! Have a great wedding )

It wasn't horrible the way we had it, but it made the walk a lot longer! But we wanted us and our guests to face water. We were literally within feet of the waves and all we saw when we faced Brad was water. Can't have the cake and eat it too I guess!! Now about that vow renewal....if anyone still wants to do the group renewal I'm down! LOL We were just talking about how we can always visit LC when we're in PV but we can't stay all day and all night unless we rent it out again. We've all been spoiled, it's not the same sharing the place with the tour group anymore )
  10. I said screw it, let someone else do it. I looked into doing it myself but once I factored in transfer paper, ink cartridges, and my margin of error I said screw this! I'm not that crafty to begin with so I preferred to pay and be done with it. The place that did them picked up the blank bags and delivered the finished product to me...too easy. I was sold - and it looked really good in the end.

  12. Check out the Cancun threads for mucho info on Dreams!!! Happy planning )
  13. Dang it Tami - just when I thought I finalized a plan for my AHR . . . that's a really good idea!! I wish I had a kid right now because that's a cool birthday cake idea!! When I was little sometimes my mom would make cupcakes for my birthday in the shape of what age I was . . . I thought it was super genius when I was little but all you do is arrange them in the shape of a 6 or whatever. Too fun!!
  14. Thanks guys ) It looks like their prices slightly went up from when I got them but they were a hit so I'd do it again.
  15. Holy moly Stephanie that is massive . . . and just quirky enough that I want it. LOL
  16. Congrats on a great party!! Looks like a blast! I want cake...lol
  17. Sure you can come, Lord knows I don't need all that fat to myself! LMAO!!!
  18. Thanks Robin, Jill, and Jason for your feedback!! I'll check out mpix as well )

    Hi there

Congrats to you and Stuart! You have come to the right place, happy planning )
  20. Cool, glad it worked. I had calla lillies in my bouquet and it wasn't extra - I think one bouquet with any flowers you want is included. I didn't know she was putting calla lillies on the table but I was happy to see them, there wasn't a charge for that at all. I bet she could get purple ones for you. There were enough petals on the tables for my liking, the aisle I think could have used more to be fully carpeted in petals. The way it was they were just scattered here and there by the flower girl. I didn't notice it that day and it was all removed promptly after the ceremony so it wasn't a big deal, but if you want heavy petals on the aisle I would get at least 3 bags just for that - Nicole can help with the logistics. *side note - you have 2 aisle options based on what you want to face, one in a straight line from the stairs like Ann and Lindsay had, or one that is L-shaped which I had. I think the straight one is nice because it gives you a straight path to the alter. We had no choice but to have the L-shaped one because we wanted the ocean immediately behind us and you can't do that if the aisle goes straight off the stairs. Nicole went over these options at our site visit* Yes the table with the black runner was our head table for 2 - I loved the setup because it's not often we'll sit at the head of any table together, it sounds silly but it added to the feeling of "this is our wedding day!". Since our group was tiny it worked well and we were able to see everyone. The table decor was a surprise, Nicole picked that and like you I NEVER would have chosen black but it was really striking. The guestbook table was off to the side overlooking the beach, she also designed that and I was very happy with the outcome. I told her she had creative control so she did her thing. They have like 4 or 5 colors of runners (and that is included in the package) so ask Nicole, I bet she could work out lavendar if they don't already have it. That would be really pretty with the pink building. Nice color choice! Guest book table (which turns into the cake table):
  21. Yep I need a cupcake weekend too. I'll try making better than sex cupcakes...mmm....and the mini cheesecakes...and all the other recipes you guys gave me. I might have to have a cupcake tasting tea party...lol
