I spent about $4-5 each (I forget what price we settled on). I think that is on the pricier side but we didn't send out a lot and I fell in love with them once I saw them. If we were inviting like 200 people I may have gone cheaper. Postage for the monogrammed stamps was very inexpensive with hubby's employee discount. I came out just under $200 total.

That is crazy! haha He put so much work into the whole thing. The poor lady had the camera in her face the whole time how embarrassing! The end was awesome though, what a proposal! -
Dress shops in Los Angeles
starchild replied to bethtamar's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I went to Minguita's Bridal in the fashion district. It is a small shop but they do carry several popular lines (Maggie Sotero, Casablanca, Mon Cheri, etc.). -

I'm sorry to hear about the situation ( I think Disneyland would be a great time for him. It isn't cheap but you probably know that. If you aren't worried about the money I would also suggest staying at the Disneyland Hotel for the Monorail. It goes straight from the hotel into the park, so there is no driving/walking there. That way if he gets tired or cranky and you need a quick nap, you can just hop on the monorail and you get in and out privlidges so you can always go back. Plus there is the breakfast with characters which the kids love. California Adventure is right there too. A lot of exhibits and more rides. And yes, do Knotts Berry Farm if you can. A bunch of rides and the theme is Peanuts characters. He'll have fun there too. And LegoLand....that place looks cool and it's in Orange County too (pretty sure).

Mmm, thanks for sharing! I always buy soft batch from the store because I'm not the biggest fan of hard chocolate chip cookies (except for the ones they give you at Doubletree hotels...omg!). I'll try this for sure!

Answer the following questions with the first thought that comes to mind. Then read what each answer means. (No cheating! ) 1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who is with you? hubby 2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal? fluffy white bunny 3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal? it looks at me and hops away 4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing, and before you is your DREAM house. How big is it? not ridiculously big, but very open and spacious 5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence? no 6. You enter the house. You walk into the dining room and see the dining room table. What do you see on AND around it? candles, family, pasta 7. You exit the house and a cup is on the ground, what kind is it? blue chalice 8. What do you do with the cup? pick it up 9. You walk to the edge of the property where you find yourself standing at a body of water. How big is the body of water? it goes as far as the eye can see 10. How will you cross the water? swim to my boat and boat to where I'm trying to go Stop and answer No cheating! What it is supposed to mean 1. The person who you are walking in the woods with is the most important person in your life. 2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems in your life. 3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. 4. The size of your dream home is representative of the size of your ambition to solve your problems. 5. A lack of a fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer that people not drop by unannounced. 6. If your answer did NOT include food, flowers, or people, then you are generally unhappy. 7. The durability of the material with the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationships. 8. What you did with the cup is representative of your attitude. 9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire. 10. The way you cross the water is representative to how easy or hard you expect your life to be

Help Finding This Necklace!
starchild replied to MsShelley's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I remember seeing a bunch of those on a website at some point but I can't remember which one. I found this, but there is a big variety out there somewhere. If I find more I'll let you know. Swarovski Crystal on Sterling Silver Chain with 2 strands that drapes elegantly down your back -
Las Caletas Cakes
starchild replied to chrisnessa's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
It was really good. The frosting was really creamy....kinda like cool whip. I'm guessing it was fresh whipped cream but I'm not sure. Another LC bride here had the chocolate cake a liked it too, I forget who that was? -
Who has a good chile relleno and/or Mexican rice recipe?
starchild replied to starchild's topic in Martha Stewart Wannabees!
Oooh...love that too. Thanks!! -
I ordered the fiesta name tags from Oriental Trading but didn't end up using them because they honestly were cheesy. My brother suggested lanyards w/ name cards saying that if I had to have name tags, they are a little more cool. It was like last on my list and never got done so everyone met the old fashioned way (plus I had a small group). This is something like what he was talking about although I bet you could fine some cheaper ones: Neck Lanyards & Name Tags Promotional Products by 4imprint

Post your centerpieces here
starchild replied to bethtamar's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Janet your centerpiece has always been my favorite...love the colors and everything about it ) I didn't do traditional centerpieces, just candles and petals. At the head table for 2 there is a square vase with calla lilles and ribbon but I didn't ask for that, the WC did that on her own. Here's a sample of the simple set up we had: -

I'm such a clumsy drunk. Omg my mom asked Nicole that question at the site visit because she was so worried one of our guests would fall off the boat drunk! Nicole said it hasn't happened yet but one time they thought someone did on the way home, but they found him curled up asleep in like a cubby of some kind...lol The railing in the front of the boat on top is low, but there aren't seats there and I don't think people are supposed to hang out there. Of course with our crowd, some people were like "This is the best place on the boat" LOL. Here are some of our drunken boat pics: P.S. Our capitan was hot! tip:hang on to a pole if you plan to stand! It gets rocky. some drunk fool took this pick from the front of the boat I saw the captain salsa dancing alone so I started dancing over to him *note the captain's expression..also note my hand on the steering wheel for balance, shortly after this pic we hit a wave and I lost my balance, turning our boat to the left a bit..lol note the low railing on the top deck and drinks in hand...no casualties though!

Mmmmm...my tummy is growling!!! I'm so glad I asked, nice to get everyone's versions. I've had picadillo burritos but never thought to stuff chiles with it...yum! Where I live in L.A. all the stores sell Mexican cheeses and chiles so that's no problem. I'll have to look for that Knorr stuff for my rice too. My tummy and my husband thank all of you ladies ) -

Is anyone buying their BM dresses??
starchild replied to cessyboston's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Okay - the voice of dissent....Heck No! I never knew it was something to consider. One of my bm's is studying for her PhD and working part time so I offered to buy hers - but she wouldn't let me. As for the other ones, they buy $300 purses . . . I didn't think twice about them paying $120 for the dress. -
Love your photos...the graffiti wall shots are awesome. There is also a vendor section if you ever have any specials or promotions to post. Enjoy the forum )

You could rent out all the levels but then everybody wouldn't be together.
