  3. I've been to the Turtle Bay and it is really nice and peaceful...so is the ride there past the pineapple plantations and all. I wanna go back (
  4. No worries ladies, Christmas isn't until December anyway so those of us who are "late" in giving are actually right on time ) Sending mine manana....just got something in the mail that was laggggging. Hold tight secret recipient!
  5. Enjoy every second! We'll all be waiting to hear the details )
  6. We told our guests to wear flip flops or shoes they can take off easily. I think everyone was barefoot at one point!
  7. I recently read that there is a Vera Wang honeymoon suite at the Halekulani..sorry that's all I can say other than my kicked-out story above...lol
  8. Have him wear a money belt. They are inexpensive and lightweight. They also make waterproof moneybelts for swimming, or those plastic containers work (but they won't fit a credit card). I would recommend keeping anything of value on you at all times, even if it is uncomfortable. The safes are secure from other guests but the wrong employee who may know you are there for a wedding might relieve you of your items....better safe that sorry (pardon the pun...lol).
  9. We used Kodak Gallery. They have several designs. Really easy and they shipped fast....I got them about 5 days after ordering, but you can expedite that if you want. I think photobucket is having problems, hope you can see this:
  10. Welcome to Mexico....lol We had a huge duffle bag filled with wedding stuff but we said it was for a wedding and they let us go. Boxes aren't the best idea for future travelers (like you said). Sorry you had to pay but on the bright side you got off cheaper than many people do...I have horror stories from the police on down. Good pointers you shared for our future PV brides. Just play along and don't fight it........their land their rules.
  11. I think ours was like 15 minutes. It included the greeting, some words on marriage, vows, ring exchange, sand ceremony and hand blessing. It sounds like a lot for a little time but these things don't take 5 minutes each...plus there is only so much you can do without it being boring....well imo. I was once at an outdoor wedding where it was really hot and the thing dragged on and on. All I could think about was when will it end, I'm thirsty...lol So try to consider that too. Our minister suggested brevity and it worked well for us. In retrospect I wouldn't have made it shorter or longer....we got our 15 minutes and it was great....lol
  12. I woud totally do it at Lanikai because that's my favorite place in Hawaii. It's not totally deserted but is pretty quiet and has won several "best beach" awards. Not too far from Honolulu either. None of my pics are digital but here are someone else's...lol
  13. Well congrats on getting that sorted out! I planned my entire wedding in less than 9 months, with the help of the Dreams girls here you have nothing to worry about.
  14. You guys that stuff has my tummy growling...and that slush sounds evil - I must make it ) My cousin gives these cookie bars out every Christmas and we devour them. Really easy and delicious! P.S. My aunt doesn't eat coconut so her batch is made with diced dried apricots instead. 7 Layer Cookie Bars 4 ounces butter 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips 1 small can shredded coconut (1 1/3 cups) 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk 1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter in 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over melted butter; spread crumbs with chocolate chips, then butterscotch chips. Sprinkle coconut over this, then drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut in 1 1/2-inch squares.
  15. You so flashed me back!!! All of those feelings and the majesty of it all is something you almost can't describe and will never forget. So happy you had an extraordinary experience too. And I so feel you on the massages....my BMs and I did a 1 hour aromatherapy and it was out of this world! Total jelly experience. I left the hut feeling like I was high and just had amazing sex...LMAO! Congrats to you both!!! And to all the LC brides, I'm still down for the massive vow renewal at a later date
  16. Soooooooo pretty you guys!!! Love the dresses and the table settings. And you had a fire dancer girl, how cool! So far I've only seen guy fire dancers there. Going to read your review now )
  17. We danced to "Lost Without U" by Robin Thicke...it was perfect for us YouTube - Robin Thicke - Lost Without U: Herve Romain Dedication
  18. Have it at the RIU...there, that was easy...lol Seriously, all I can say is I honeymooned at the RIU and it would be a spectacular place for a wedding. Clean and private beach, pretty facilities, great people. I know nothing about Breezes but if you haven't found these yet, here are some reviews: Breezes Runaway Bay: An independent review Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Breezes Runaway Bay Rst. & Golf Club by SuperClubs at Epinions.com Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Club (Runaway Bay, Jamaica) - Resort Reviews - TripAdvisor SuperClubs Breezes Runaway Bay Resort, Runaway Bay - IgoUgo Reviews
  19. I had mine on a Saturday for that reason too, but really if you give people time to plan a Tuesday can work. If your heart is set on that resort I wouldn't let the day stop you. Best wishes
  20. Would it be too harsh to simply say that a shower isn't your thing? You've never wanted a shower, it isn't your tradition, something like that. Or that you appreciate the gesture but you are so busy these days and a shower is a lot for you to handle right now. I didn't want one either but I caved and it was fun...but your situation is different and I guess talking about the money factor will make them feel bad, right? Also, some people will send gifts whether or not you have a shower so if you don't need anything, I would pick a charity and put it out there so people don't bombard you with stuff you can't store. Good luck!
