Toasting flutes and Cake serving set
starchild replied to Leia78's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Our site provided everything but I'm sure any site would let you bring your own too. -
What a perfect little bundle! Your niece is a cutie too! Family is awesome, congrats on the newest addition )

Okay coincidence....my medium who works with animals (and people too) has a similar name - Dawna - and our dog was named Mabel when we got her...(we've since changed her name to Honey). Funny! She also gave us insight on our rescue dog's state of mind. When Honey was dog-napped Dawna let us know she was having fun but anxious to get home. The location she described her at was exactly where we found her. Yay!! Anyways, great stories everyone! Some people have the gift and if you find someone you trust, hold on to them.

LOL We can always meet you at the Westin for a drink/lunch, that way you won't be far from him in case you are needed.

Good one Drea, he would LOVE the Santa Monica Pier. Any chance you'll get more time Catherine? Like Drea said, there are rides on the pier and they even have special rides for kids. Gorgeous views of the coast from the ferris wheel too. Even in January it's 95% likely that it will be sunny and not too cold, definitely not compared to PA. Plus, entry is free and you just pay per ride/game. And I know where to drink there too....haha Pacific Park® - The Family Amusement Park On The Santa Monica Pier

Symbolic ceremony...certificate???
starchild replied to Leia78's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We were provided with a marriage certificate at Las Caletas where our symbolic ceremony was. Symbolic ceremony = symbolic certificate but it's a cute momento nonetheless. If you want one talk to your WC @ Dreams to see what is possible. -
Never thought I'd be in this boat -- devastated!

It is nobody's decision but yours...not even your husband's...lol It stinks that dad would even put this burden on you. Good to hear from you and I'm happy you both took time to think it out and do what made sense to you two....best wishes )

Yeah they are big...if you are a member of stamps.com (same company) there is an option for smaller stamps...they are basically more narrow and rectangular so they fit better on little envelopes. For some reason you can't do that just ordering on photostamps.com. For future reference, there is a free trial (I think 28 days?) with stamps.com so you could always make them and cancel...people do it all the time and you get to keep the free postage as a "gift" when you cancel!

Cool! The Westin is a nice hotel, the rooftop restaurant is nice. Probably not a huge deal for you east-coasters but out here there aren't many skyscrapers where you can hang like that. Um....since you don't have a full day to do a theme park what about Chuck E Cheese? I don't think there are any near downtown where the hotel is though. The California Science Center is cool, 2 hours is pretty short but it is downtown adjacent so travel would be easy. California Science Center I'm always down to drink and January is kinda slow for me so let me know...I'd be glad to meet you for cocktails )

The ROR brides can help you better, but I honeymooned there and it was fabulous. Consider the sources of the bad reviews...like Christine said everyone can't be pleased. I was there for 8 days and can't recall a bee, the food was good and the service was excellent. I was there in June, don't know if that makes a difference. It's really really nice and I say that after having spent the week prior at Dreams which was great...if you go you'll love it.

I got it!!! Carly's gift arrived and I love it! She gave me homeade soap that smells really good and a cool candle making kit with these sheets of beeswax and wicks to design your own candles. I'm going to have fun with that one!! My camera is still packed up so I can't take a pic right now but trust me it is really nice. Thanks Carly!!

where are the best places to stay in San Diego CA
starchild replied to Jtds2713's topic in Honeymoon Forum
The gaslamp is a really cool area. Lots of hotels and nightlife there. San Diego has tons of great restaurants and clubs, also a House of Blues which is cool. Welcome to gaslamp.org | Shop Dine Play Gaslamp - Issue 1 - title The Hotel del Coronado is a historic landmark, lots of celebrity action over the years. Gorgeous and very old-school. If you've seen the old movie Some Like It Hot, it was filmed there. I haven't stayed there in years but when I did it was really charming and on a beautiful beach. San Diego Resorts, California Hotels On The Beach & CA Coast Vacations - Hotel Del Coronado San Diego is an awesome place and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Have fun! -

Did you end up going for the whole day or just the half day trip? Sorry for all of the questions!! By the way, I LOVE the Christmas card! We got what was called the "delux" package then, same one Ann got. I went over in the morning with my bridesmaids and the guests followed on the later boat. If you can, I would suggest going early. It makes for a more relaxing day. You can get massages and hang out, plus you don't have to get off the boat and rush to get ready. Also, a site visit is included with packages. You can fly down and use it anytime before the wedding or take a day once you get there for the wedding. We had been to LC before and knew what it looked like, but we did the site visit anyway and included my parents as well. It was nice to have that day (a few days before the wedding) to relax with just the 4 of us before the other guests arrived. Also we got to go over last minute details with Nicole (our WC). You don't have to do the site visit though, and either way the wedding will rock. As you can see I don't mind talking about LC so ask away, we are all pretty long-winded when it comes to that place...LOL Oh, and thanks for the siggy comment....those are my Christmas wishes Las Caletas style

Welcome to the forum, mom! Let us know how we can help )

YAY!!! I truly love you all and I'm glad you won!

Welcome! Las Caletas is the perfect choice for what you described. Many of us married there (or will be) and I'm sure they will all chime in. Where to stay....we stayed at Dreams, beach is gorgeous and food is really good. I don't know much about NV other than it is pretty far from downtown PV, not impossible, but not the most convenient if people will want to go to clubs, popular restaurants, etc. Some of our guests stayed at Velas Vallarta in Marina Vallarta. I visited, the place is beautiful but the beach is not. The beach in that area is built on a landfill so sand was brought in, not too cool so I would go further south if they want good beaches. I'm not snooty and I thought it was awful, so the snooty relatives will not be pleased with that area. The further south of downtown you get the nicer the sand and water tend to be, and you are still within 15 minutes from the center of town. Conchas Chinas and Mismaloya have nice beaches (Dreams is adjacent to Conchas Chinas). We honeymooned in Jamaica, but when we were looking at PV for a honeymoon we were going to rent a house with pool and cook. It's not too costly and private which is nice. Google Vallarta vacation rentals if you are interested in that. If you search for Las Caletas in the upper right corner you will find many threads about LC and pics as well. Best wishes in your planning and no worries, you made a great choice )

I hope you do something really cool and have a great day!
