  1. No deal, I've searched pretty thoroughly and it seems she did that version live at a concert and it was recorded and put on an album, but no studio version was ever released. I wish I could help with the editing but I don't know what type of software you need....if you realllly want it you may be able to take it to a studio tech to filter out some of that noise. Good luck )

  3. You can have them carry something down the aisle and place it on the alter, like an unlit candle or framed photo of someone special. Or just walk down the aisle as a "special attendant" or something and then take a seat rather than stand with the wedding party. My SIL walked down the aisle with her 2 kids then took a seat, and I've been to weddings where all the parents and grandparents were escorted down the aisle and seated, and this was also noted on the program.
  4. I don't know if she ever did a version other than the live one? It's awesome but you're right, there are too many background noises. I'll look around and see if I can find one.
  5. Okay I'm attempting to do this myself and I'm having a brain freeze - I wish to keep my maiden name and add on my married name without hyphenation. On the SSA form there are 3 boxes for the name - first, full middle name, and last. Do I enter my maiden name in the middle name box after my middle name? Do I enter my maiden name in the last name box before my married name? Or does it not matter which box I place it in? Thought I'd ask you guys since you're more pleasant than the SSA )
  6. Shoot....I know how much it sucks when others aren't as excited as you are and kind of shoot you down. They mean well, of course, but this whole DW thing is new to a lot of people...especially of your grandparents' generation. Will it help if you share the experiences of people here, and how most did not get sick? Also, once at LC if there is an emergency of sorts where someone must leave, they can arrange that. If it rains, there are covered areas on the boat as well as covered areas at LC that the ceremony/reception can be held. If you end up at LC I'm sure they will change their tune once they see it.
  7. This never gets easier!! MRS: Drea for being awesome & organizing the gift exchanges, Jessica for staying super involved after her wedding and during her pregnancy BTB: Paula for being so darn sweet and always remembering everyone's bdays and wedding days....Alyssa for all she shares and her brilliant plan to make us millionaires
  8. I've always wanted to eat at the River Cafe, it looks gorgeous! Nikki Beach at the Westin has a Sunday brunch that is very popular and pretty.
  9. Yay!!!! Welcome to another LC bride (to be). We have covered a lot in the Las Caletas thread so check that out, and feel free to ask Ann or I or any of us if you have any questions. Congrats on your engagement and decision to wed in PV )
  10. We made this as part of our Christmas Eve dinner and it was delicious! Instead of frying we skewered the shrimp and grilled them, then slathered on the pesto. The mint is a great twist. Jumbo Shrimp with Basil and Mint Pesto 3/4 cups lightly packed fresh mint leaves 1/2 cup lightly packed fresh basil leaves 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted 1 garlic clove 1/4 cup olive oil 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan Salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 pounds uncooked jumbo shrimp, peeled and de-veined 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil Blend the mint, basil, pine nuts, and garlic in a food processor until finely chopped. With the machine running, gradually add 1/4 cup of olive oil, processing until well blended. Transfer the pesto to a medium bowl. Stir in the Parmesan. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper. Toss the shrimp with the extra-virgin olive oil in a large bowl to coat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and toss again. Heat a heavy large skillet over high heat. Working in 2 batches, add the shrimp and saute until just cooked through, about 3 minutes. Toss the shrimp with enough pesto to coat. Transfer the shrimp to a platter and serve. Two reasons - first because that was a few hundred dollars I was able to cut out, and second because our wedding was in a jungle full of foliage. We didn't feel it was necessary. They didn't carry anything, just locked arms with the GM who walked with them. And I agree to have as many special people in your wedding as you want to, no rules. We planned on 6 and 6 which turned out to be 5 and 4....one GM volunteered to walk with 2 girls and it worked out fine
  12. Savannah that is the sweetest!! What a great hubby-to-be and kids you have! Everytime I see your avatar it makes me smile because you have a small troop and they are too cute Thanks for sharing and congrats on your Christmas engagement....not to mention you made out like a bandit - bracelet, pendant, AND the ring?
  13. We did 6 days in Mexico and 8 days in Jamaica, and we went right after we left Mexico.
  14. Awwwwww, he's precious! What a cool gift. I'm glad the evil man he came from at least called the shelter before taking matters into his own hands. Spoil the puppy - he deserves it!
  15. I'd say at least as much as you would spend eating all meals out where you live, and then some. A nice dinner for two is a few hundred easy. I'm thinking great food, great atmosphere, and that costs. Things are more expensive there in general but there are inexpensive "local" spots if you don't mind venturing out of the tourist zones. We have some BDW members more familiar with HI than I am, hopefully they'll add in )
  16. I don't know how it differs by location, but I *think* ours was something like $4-500 in PV. It included before the ceremony, during, and after. Maybe you can find someone who works by the hour because your ceremony will be less than one hour....sorry that's all I know
  17. Yes, ask your vet. My vet does boarding at her office, but if yours doesn't I'm sure they can recommend a great place.
  18. Fantastic recipes and how simple!! We eat #101 all the time around here, and when we're feeling naughty we fry them like taquitos...lol Mmmmm Thanks Alyssa, I'm saving this article )
  19. Great topic! My advice from experience is to board them somewhere with a person/people who know how to spot any problems. We boarded our dog Honey at her vet's kennel. A few days before we left Honey was scooting a lot and with everything going on it was overlooked. 2 hours before my wedding I get a call from Dr. Brooks saying Honey appears to have ruptured an anal gland and is probably in a lot of pain. We gave authorization to treat her and all was well (except for the $500 bill we came back to!). Point is, if she were staying with a friend (which was the original plan) or even at a facility without medical staff onsite it may have gone unnoticed and she may have suffered for 2 weeks. Even if you have to pay a little more make sure your pet will be observed by a trained eye. You wouldn't leave your child with a sitter who wasn't qualified, you know? Good luck )
  20. Welcome back! Sounds like you had a blast. There are many stairs at LC so if anyone has problems getting around it can be difficult but not impossible. I know you'll make a great choice, can't wait to see pics of everything!

  22. LOVE prints made easy....they did postcards and an STD letter for me super fast and cheap. I think yours look great! 250 sets like that elsewhere would have cost you a small fortune...good for you. Keep that money in the bank!!!
  23. Wow Twixygrl!! That's a pricey DW but I know it will be fabulous )
