  1. Christa they don't sell hard liquor at Safeway ever? Damn! Safeway usually has the best deals too...bummer ( Diana I love that you keep your drink recipe in your wallet....a girl after my own heart ) All of these recipes sound great!
  2. Thanks guys! There is an Italian deli near me that sells pasta dough and I bet they sell pizza dough too. Otherwise I think I've seen pizza dough in the refrigerated section of Trader Joe's now that you mention it. Christa your mom's crust sounds gooood, I love sourdough anything! I'll look into the pizza stone too )
  3. For those of you who make your own pizza, what kind of crust do you use? I ususally use Boboli (sp?) because it is easy. Is there a good raw dough you make or buy, or do you also use Boboli? We're having a make-your-own pizza party with all kinds of fun toppings )
  4. I voted #3 but I like them all. My BM dresses were similar to #3 and flattered all of my BMs (some are big in the chest area and strapless wasn't the best option for them). If you have average/small BMs #1 is great but I love love love the hem on #2. Also, as Dbell said, I would totally wear #3 again but not necessarily the first two. Good luck )
  5. No liquor on Sundays? How do you guys get through church? hehe...DH used to live in Louisiana and Texas and mentioned buying liquor from bootleggers on Sundays...a throwback to prohibition I guess? CA is cool except you can't buy liquour between 2am and 6am....like buying liquour at 3am is worse than waking up at 6 to drink? Never understood that one! MsShelley thanks for this thread! We got this beautiful Lenox martini set as a wedding gift and haven't used it yet because we don't really make martinis, but I think I'll be buying that Rose's pomegranate mix and breaking in the set on NYE
  6. Our food was buffet style so when I noticed the photog/minister/boat captain/etc. sitting off to the side while we ate I invited them to come make a plate and they did. They were very appreciative as well but would not have asked if it wasn't offered. Also, our location was restricted with no other food options or way to leave, so they were there as long as we were and deserved to eat. BUT, If I were paying $100+ a plate and the vendor was only there for 2-3 hours or something I may not offer it. Not sure what protocol is on that....
  7. My magnets came with cardstock and small, mailable envelopes. But I did a letter too and placed them both in a larger envelope. If you don't do a letter I suggest printing your website (if you have one) on the magnet that way people can get the details of what they are saving the date for, since it's not just that date they are saving but several days )
  8. Wow, I don't know what to say about your mom other than I feel awful for you and I understand why you lost the planning joy. What a difficult time for you. *Big Hug* Let us know what you need help with...invites? favors? decor? We're all here to make it easier so don't be shy, there is enough time left to make it happen )
  9. Um, excuse me LadyP, I know you're excited about your son and all but what about our cocktail party on the top floor of the Bonaventure Hotel?? LOL J/K, I want to see the pics too, sounds very cool. You know Drea and I will meet you if you still have time )
  10. Thanks! LOL Yeah we got some whistles too...it was pretty funny. My friend said that kiss should have got me pregnant! When you're feeling the spirit you gotta go for it...you'll see in just a few months! I can't wait to see/hear your LC stories )
  11. Aww, Ann that made me misty eyed...lol I didn't realize you hadn't even peeked down below. Rachel, I've been there at night before and never saw it, or so far haven't heard any other brides mention it. I don't know how plankton operates (hehe) so I don't know if it is a random thing or charted, but the staff knew what it was so it must happen from time to time.
  12. Pesto is the best, and so easy to make!
  13. Aha! What a little hog I am....I may not be able to discuss world politics in Spanish but I know how to order my food in Spanish....LOL
  14. I thought it would be cool to share the "OMG" moments from our weddings. We have several LC brides-to-be and several past LC brides who are still obsessed (ahem...Ann and I for starters). Just adding a little fuel to the fire So many things stand out for me, but this one is pretty cool: At one point during our reception some of us were dancing and some were hanging out around the bonfire, and someone shouts "Look!" and a crowd began to form at the shore. It was dark but the water/waves were lit up electric blue. When the water washed onto the sand the beach was dotted with bright blue things, which the LC staff said was some kind of bioluminescent plankton. That sight, with the dark sky and perfectly full moon shining above, was breathtaking. It didn't last more than a few minutes but the show was spectacular. There I am in my wedding dress, Will in his wedding gear, both barefoot, with clumps of flourescent blue sand in our hands. All of our guests were at the water's edge with us, totally awestruck. It was like the universe making a toast for our wedding....lol Yet another reason why LC is spectacular and full of magical surprises )
  15. Here's what I would say....which may be wrong since I'm not fluent, but we have several fluent speakers here who can give you the real scoop ) appetizers = antojitos salad = ensalada main course = el plato principal or el plato segundo postre is dessert....I think it should be plural but I'm not certain
  16. Tammy between this and the biscuits you're killing me tonight!!! Adding this to the archives as well, thanks )

  18. I'm not a Red Lobster fan either but they sure make damn good biscuits...thanks Tammy!
  19. Thanks!!!! You guys kick ass!! Coreyphil thanks for the checklists too, those are great!
  20. That's such a cool offer! I missed the boat on this one but hopefully other couples can get in on it. Free is good!!
  21. Good Lord! Poor thing you just can't catch a break ( I'm glad you stopped taking that drug, sounds scary to me. I hope you find relief soon. I know you've got a lot going on, but when you have the time I highly recommend a book called "Never Be Sick Again". I've bought it for most people close to me. Maybe it will help, it can't hurt. 22. Hmm... that's weird how you were receiving those emails. I use both Snapfish and Kodak Gallery and just used my regular email address, but that didn't happen to me. Side note, earlier this year I had to create an account to view someone's wedding photos here (I think it was with Pictage?) and I still get emails from them about ordering her prints! It's not her fault and I've been too lazy to unsubscribe. When I joined I missed the fine print saying they would solicit me, I just wanted to see the pics...lol

How fun! We just got a bunch of wedding presents and moved into a new place, so we agreed to not do gifts.....but we still got each other clothes and shoes because something had to go under the tree. Nice and simple this time around
