  1. Just wanted to say good luck everyone, it's tough to get a minister of any faith to fly out for a DW. I would definitely start at the place where you worship and try to get a referral )
  2. Aww, I too am sorry to hear about Virginia. What an amazing love story though, take solace in those times they shared. Maggie's wedding will be wonderful with a few extra angels presiding )
  3. HaHa! Nothing like drunk chicks showing off their pole dancing skills......good times!
  4. Tami they sound delicious to me, I can almost smell them cooking LOL! Love greens of any kind, my family cooks a lot of mustard greens but collards are very tasty with the hamhocks.....mmmmmm You can't go wrong with Paula Deen....yummy!
  5. How simple to make! I'll add these to the archives )

  7. Yes!! I'm glad mom and baby are healthy! He's just perfect Jessica! Get some rest and tell us the whole story when you get a moment ) BTW, how cool is December going to be for Aiden between Christmas and Birthday presents? I always wanted to be that kid LOL
  8. Damn, I should have sent some up with Drea!
  9. Darn, I should have practiced too! We have a giant bottle of vodka that was on sale 1/2 off at the grocery store so we won't run out. We aren't normally vodka drinkers so this is our new year experiment Oooh...sorry Christa for the grocery store alcohol mention (
  10. Welcome to the forum!! We have several PV brides that can help. Sayulita is in the state of Nayarit....not too far from PV and it looks beautiful. Cool location for a wedding!
  11. One of my BMs used to be a make-up lady at Nordstrom's so I leaned on her. It was still very simple though, just my bare minerals makeup and then whatever she used for eyes and cheeks, I did my own lips. I don't wear makeup normally so I didn't want to feel weird or have my face melt in the heat lol.

  13. Ha! Poor Jason, that is hilarious and a strange layout indeed!
  14. I think they sell bottles with tops for this purpose? I'm a bad sand ceremony bride....they got our sand off the beach, made a funnel out of a leaf, and the sand was recycled back into the beach after the ceremony. If you want to save it, or make it cool with colored sand, check your craft stores for sure.
  15. Sorry about the sticky pet situation....hope it gets better. Thank goodness you have the space to work out a system. Do tell about the shower in J's kitchen....now that's cramped!!
  16. I voted Nine West because I prefer them, but ... 10 bucks says you make it 30 minutes (or 2 tequila shots, whatever comes first) before you kick off whatever shoes you buy and spend the night barefoot! This comes from experience...if I wasn't dancing I wouldn't have cared if I had feet...LOL

I've seen this before too....and if I'm being honest - and I don't mean to offend smokers or nonsmokers - it perpetuates the stereotypes of where she lives. I think someone in CA caught doing that would be brought up on charges. In VA it is printed in the paper with no mention of the fact that she is smoking while complaining about fetal noise damage. It's not like it was an article from the 70s, this was 2004!
  18. I like red shoes because I'm an against the grain person, but the red and black doesn't go with white/ivory IMO. If they were all red - yes! But the black throws it off for me since there is no black in your dress.....but I'm anal like that. The style of both is super cute though. OK I'm little help!
  19. #1 Sounds like you covered everything #2 Never stayed at the RIU, but drove past it to the NV marina. From Dreams PV one way to the marina in NV it cost us $25 US, so I'd guess from the airport $10-15 US tops...just a guess. And yes, taxis are cheaper outside of the airport across the bridge. Right when you exit customs there are people with signs, look for the Funjet sign, or ask someone else with a sign where the Funjet people are. If it has been pre-arranged your name should be on their clipboard. #3 My advice is to ignore them, don't answer or give time to anyone that isn't carrying a FunJet sign. Most people who solicit look official and have nametags, from the legit shuttle people to the timeshare people. Tell your guests who have pre-arranged shuttles that their name should be on the clipboard of the rep who meets them. I look myself when they say they found my name, just to make sure. (been led astray before, live and learn!) There is no real danger, other than wasting time with time share people when you could be in route to your resort. Other than that tell them to be nice and keep their cool in all situations, you catch more flies with sugar as they say ) Have fun!!!!!
  20. Let's start a thread of pasta recipes. I have tons (I'm 1/2 Italian, no choice!). I'll start with a few simple but delicious recipes. Add your favorites! Lemon Spaghetti (Great side for fish or chicken) 1 pound spaghetti 2/3 cup olive oil 2/3 cup grated Parmesan 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 lemons) Salt and freshly ground black pepper 1 tablespoon lemon zest 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil leaves Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 8 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk the oil, Parmesan, and lemon juice in a large bowl to blend. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid. Toss the pasta with the lemon sauce, and the reserved cooking liquid, adding 1/4 cup at a time as needed to moisten. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with lemon zest and chopped basil. Pasta all'Amatriciana 1 pound bucatini (can also use spaghetti or thin linguine) Salt 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan in a slow stream 1/4 pound (4 ounces) pancetta*, diced (more if you like it meaty) 1 medium onion, chopped 4 to 6 cloves garlic, chopped 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (2 tsp. if you like it on fire) 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes 2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley Freshly ground black pepper Grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, Grana Padano or Romano, to pass at the table Bring a large pot of water to a boil and salt the water. Heat a large deep skillet over medium high heat. Add oil and pancetta. Cook pancetta 2 or 3 minutes then add onions and garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook 7 or 8 minutes more, until onions are translucent. Add tomatoes and parsley. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Simmer sauce over low heat until ready to serve. Cook bucatini pasta to al dente or, with a bite to it. Drain pasta well. Do not rinse. Starchy pasta holds more sauce. Toss hot pasta with sauce and serve. Pass grated cheese at the table to top pasta. * If you can't get Pancetta you can use bacon but your sauce will be smoky. Trader Joe's sells diced pancetta ready to cook.
  21. God Maria, sounds like Hollywood where I just escaped from! My broom has banged on the ceiling many a night! Fuckers above us must have been fans of crystal meth or took some damn fine vitamins.....they sounded like they were moving couches all night! And at $1650 a month you would think they had to sleep to go to work at some point! WTF is that? Who pays their rent? Not to mention the dudes next door, who didn't even show their faces until 2 am when they smoked on their balcony and talked at top volume about their lives for 3 hours. Yeah, I care about the girl you left behind in Michigan. Jackass....STFU! Whew! That turned into a mini-vent. I'm glad I'm outta there....hope your freak neighbors move before you snap on them!
  22. Aww Melissa, that moved me too! We first visited LC on Rhythyms of the Night, that's how we got the idea to marry there. At my wedding I didn't get to explore the back end of the jungle, but I remember the feeling you described from our first visit. Isn't the pyramid beautiful? After dinner on the water at a table for 2, and the dancers/Aztec show, we wandered down some path too. We ended up in the hills at a spot with 2 hammocks and were shocked nobody else was there! (come to find out there are lots of places like that at LC!). Anyways, we sat there swaying, with the sound of waves and not much else and said "this is the shit!'. LOL It was magical and surreal and everything anyone who has been there knows. We sat there and said "Michelle would die if she were here" and so on, about our friends and family. We found out they did weddings and it was a wrap....and Michelle and Co. were there for our wedding a few years later and are still raving about LC. Thanks for sharing, that evoked fond memories )
