  1. Yep Christa, Rachel is right - alcohol kills germs! Well I figure if it can sterilize a needle it has to do something to get rid of the germs inside you....at the very least you'll forget you're sick..hehe
  2. It's happy hour in California When we were in Jamaica we fell in love with a drink called a caipirinha. Kind of like a mojito but no mint and lots of lime. I tried to make one when we came back but it wasn't the best. Well, I just mixed some rum with some "Simply Limeade" and put it over ice and hot damn!!! It works for me Cheers
  3. Do you guys know there is an orchid garden up in the hills at LC? We meant to get some pics there but after the group and family shots, the highest up we made it was to the bed...the garden is even higher than that but we wanted to go join the party so we said screw it. Maybe everyone does that and that's why there are never pics there? LOL Maybe someone else will discover it one of these days....
  4. I have an idea how excited you are Ann!! Early congrats to you, Vanessa! I know you will be delirious with joy while you marry your dreamlover in that magical paradise. (sorry to steal the word "magic" Ann but that about sums LC up!)

  6. Bastards! I don't like your bosses. Why not do inventory after the game instead of getting up at the ass crack of dawn to count stuff? If you must go, curse them the whole way there so you're in an even more foul mood once you arrive. Cough a lot, blow your nose like an instrument, and put a little blush on those cheeks to look extra warm, play it up. If they don't send you home after all that, then they truly are from hell and they can bite me too Hope you feel better sweetie *xoxoxo*
  7. No problem Rachelle! Amatriciana is one of the best comfort pastas to me. I've found that grocery stores don't usually sell bucatini but an Italian market near me does. You can really make it with any long, thinner pasta but bucatini makes it just right.
  8. Heck no, cheese is grrreat! Oooooh...the omelette station..lots of cheese and veggies! I forgot about Mandalay, we never made it there. Sounds good. I seem to remember something about only being able to make reservations at each restaurant once during your stay but I don't know if they enforce that. Also, they tell you to call for reservations starting at 9am or 10am (I forget which). The first day we did that our top choices were already full. After that we called at 7:30-8am every day and got reservations with no problem...so cheat and you'll have a better chance
  9. I remember some of the best fried plantains I've ever had...yum! What else....there was cheese pizza, beans/rice, pasta without meat like alfredo, mac & cheese (do you eat dairy?), roasted veggies like squash, breadfruit Um....I ate mostly plantains and fish...lol I'm sure you'll find a little variety. Great salad bars, fresh fruit, and bread if all else fails )
  10. You'll find some great info here, happy planning!
  11. I think that is nice and festive, even if you aren't in Hawaii. I'm glad you let him have his way, our men have so little control over the wedding. Mostly it's their choice to stay uninvolved but when they find something they are excited about I say let them win
  12. The first time it happened to me I was at work and thought my job finally banned me for being on BDW too much...then it happened at home too LOL
  13. You know, I don't think I've ever seen those so thanks for the bump. You were a gorgeous bride!
  14. They are labor intensive so I hear you!
  15. Congrats on narrowing in on a location....now for the venue. I'm no help in the DR but you'll find what you need here to make a great decision!
  16. Aww thanks! When I found the Venice design I flipped because we eat at the Sidewalk Cafe (in the background) quite often! If you ever come out I'll take you there, great people watching sight!
  17. Alyssa that is awesome! Way to go, TA Dina!
  18. Just to chime in, we were there in early June. It rained lightly for like 15 minutes the first day, actually around 4 or 5pm and it dried very quickly. It was dry for a week then the last morning it rained pretty hard and long, like 2-3 hours. We were totally in the pool in the rain with a few other couples. It felt really good...lol If it were to rain during my ceremony I would embrace it...if it isn't luck it's fun and makes for memorable pictures! Keep your sense of humor and expect tropical weather...chances are it won't rain anyway ) P.S. Your co-worker does suck! What a hater!!
  19. Pretty much, with a different taste of course. Although spinach is more tender and you can eat it raw...but yeah, basically like spinach. You would like them )
  20. They are vegetables, green and leafy, like a lettuce but more substantial and need to be cooked before eating. Really yummy!
  21. Funny you should mention Glory greens...MIL is from the South so of course she makes hers from scratch, but she said in a pinch that the Glory greens are acceptable. The flavor is good and they really aren't bad if you don't know the joys of freshly cooked greens.
