Okay, joke's on me! I noticed in another thread that your date is in April, so I double checked the calendar to make sure I wasn't nuts. You must have changed your wedding date at some point but the old one is still on the calendar. How funny is this?! Well, this is your early congrats!

Wait, Betsy aren't you getting married today? LOL I swear it's on the calendar....I started a "congrats" thread for you and just realized you can't be getting married today if you just asked this question! Let me double check that I'm not losing it... -
Disapointed in turnout. Am I alone?
starchild replied to JUSTUSTWO's topic in Just venting or funnies
Gosh all of our stories sound the same, lol! If everyone who said "I'm there!" when we mentioned it came, we would have had almost 200 people. If everyone who rsvp'd yes to the STD came, we would have had about 75. If everyone who rsvp'd yes to the invitation came, we would have had about 50. We had 35. Yes, 6 weeks before our wedding (when we sent the formal invites) some people were either fooling us or fooling themselves, because they said they would make it and they couldn't. I know some people couldn't afford it and felt bad and all that, but just saying no would have been a better option than stringing us along while waiting for a bag of money to fall from the sky. But I digress....I've learned a lot from all of our experiences! -
I heard from Nicole, here is an excerpt of the relevant stuff: "That is CRAZY that they have that. . .its even crazier that you found the site, you know? What are the odds that a Caletas bride would search their website and find a Caletas wedding photo, you know? We called them and left a nice little message. . .Thank you!!" Mission Accomplished

I've heard great things about flaxseed vitamins. I bought a bottle last month and forget to take it....I need to keep some in my purse!

This thread is an oldie but a goodie! 1. Cocoa Butter - I never go to sleep without greasing up, I swear by it for a soft and blemish-free face (the body oil is great for just after shower too) 2. Silk Therapy (biosilk) - All I need on an island (besides tweezers..lol) makes my hair feel and smell fabulous, plus it works on skin too 3. Seaplasma - detangles hair, moisturizes & is refreshing to spray on your face when you feel drab (or dry) 4. Lipbalm - Avon dew kiss is my favorite, I'm never without a balm of some sort 5. Oil of Olay - been using their facial products for years, the foam wash, daily facial cloths, and daily serum are my favorites Quote: Originally Posted by gkashmira 5. Never brushing my hair. I wish I could brush my hair like Marsha Brady, but it's just never worked (

AHR question...
starchild replied to hls140's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
Did you wear your dress the entire time/at all, etc? Did not wear my wedding dress, just a regular dress and it wasn't white. Did you have your wedding party dress a certain way, sit in a special place (like all together) Nope, it was come as you are and sit where you want Did you do any of the first dances (again) Nope Did anyone make any toasts, or read any passages, etc.? Nope Did you have a DJ, photographer, anything else? Nope We just had a party at my parents' house. We set up a taco stand and hired people to come cook, bought tons of beverages, and played music on the speakers that are already set up outside. There was no ceremony to it, no announcements, just come party. It can be as casual or formal as you like. (BTW we had a small church wedding the morning of our AHR that about 25 people attended. The other 40-50 were only invited to the AHR). -
Aww, great pics and review. I'm glad everything went well for you, congrats!

Omg you took so many awesome pictures! I've seen them do Grease Lightening before and Summer Nights...they must really like Grease! The crew is awesome...lol Paella is this rice and seafood mixture. They do a cooking demonstration on the beach during the day tour, and it is served at lunch. They have so much food though you may have missed it! -

My FI said that as long as he & I are there, along with our parents, no one else matters. That's so true and the best advice you can get...although I know it doesn't help you feel a whole lot better now ( I went through it, although we wanted a tiny wedding so I wasn't mad about that, but irked that people who "should" have gone either said no or bailed at the last minute. Do you know that 7 months after my wedding 2 of them haven't spoken to us at all? Two people who rsvp'd with a yes haven't called us to find out if we made it back and how it went, let alone explain why they didn't make it to Mexico. This is a golden opportunity to filter out those who have your back from those who don't. I promise you that these no-shows won't cross your mind when you're at your dream wedding. It really is their loss and you may just eliminate some excess relationships that aren't as true as you thought they were. Sad to say it, but that is the bright side to all this. It was for us. I'm sorry you are down, it will pass though. Best wishes ) -

Welcome letter idea??
starchild replied to Betsy's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I made a booklet and put it in those clear-cover portfolios. It was broken down into sections (I have too much free time at work ) The cover was our monogramm the next page was a short "Welcome, you made it...please read through this, etc.". The next page was 2 color maps, one of the city and one of the hotels (our guests were staying at different spots). The sections were Itinerary, General Info (like time zone/money/weather/etc.) History of PV, Sightseeing, Shopping, Tips on Staying Healthy, Emergency Contacts (like embassies, numbers to call if you loose credit cards/passports, etc. I think that's about it! -
Las Caletas - Site Review

Misty water colored memories......lol Great review and pics! The casita is the sh!t to have at your disposal all day! If you choose LC you will have 0% chance of your WC screwing something up, that's for sure. They really are awesome and will get you as tipsy as you want to be pre-wedding....I had margaritas, champagne, and a tequila shot as I walked down the stairs..heehee. As for the stairs definitely go barefoot, it feels great plus it cuts out the falling factor. Good luck choosing, you know what I want you to do, but it's kind of not my wedding You can't go wrong in PV, it will be fabulous anywhere ) P.S. - Did you eat the paella? -
