  1. Haha! The Associated Press: 'Mean Mom' Sells Son's Car After Misdeed And the follow up: Mom Logic - "World's Meanest Mom" Speaks Out!
  2. Does anyone know about the border crossing between Belize and Mexico? I'm wondering if it is similar to the U.S./Mexico border where you just drive in, or if there is paperwork you need, etc. Also, if we were to start out in Valladolid or somewhere near there, and wanted to go from there to a resort in Tulum (without renting a car) are there shuttles or transfers available? I can ask my TA but you all know so much I figure I would start here. As you see I'm all over the map but just exploring many options, thanks )

  4. If you go to JaimeLynne's Las Caletas site review there is a pic of the new color, it's very pretty but it isn't pink. It will still look cool with pink and orange )
  5. We seriously considered this because it is stunning, but we couldn't get Las Caletas out of our heads. It says to email for prices, at the time we inquired (2006) we were quoted $1000/night, 7 night minimum (ceremony/reception fees extra). There are 6 bedrooms and if you won't use all 6 they can reduce the rate (but do check guest list against passports upon arrival so no cheating). They can also arrange staff, babysitting, pretty much anything you need. You may be able to have a wedding there without staying the week, but we didn't ask. Thought I'd pass it on to anyone looking for such a place. Check it out: Casa Valerie
  6. Fiji, how exciting! Congratulations on your engagement.
  7. Welcome, I also married there this past June. The stairs really aren't that big of a deal. We had an older guest with really bad knees and she was fine. She took longer than others to get from the boat to the beach, and up the stairs the one time she used the bathroom, but it was not a problem. The staff is also very accomodating so I'm sure he'll be fine. BTW from the boat to the wedding site there aren't really stairs so much as a hilly cobblestone path. There are a fair amount of stairs to get to the bathroom but nothing overwhelming. Hope this helps )
  8. What fun...eat for me ( I used to go to A la Carte A la Park when they had it...do they still do that in the City?
  9. We married in Mexico and 2 days after the wedding left and flew to Jamaica. We wanted to separate our honeymoon from the wedding. Plus, we didn't want to feel obligated to spend time with guests who lingered in Mexico. Basically we wanted a honeymoon by ourselves away from the people and location we spent the previous week with. Anything goes though!
  10. I'm glad you said it, because I'd never heard of this tradition at all before here. We opted out of this one, for us the pledge of lifetime love was a present enough...hehe I don't think you ask for something specific, I would assume the gift is something your spouse wants to give you as a symbol of love. Although I don't know how the Louis Vuitton fits into that theory...lol Maybe he knew she really wanted one and chose to make her happy that way?

I LOVE doing laundry, LOVE the smell of bleach in the bathroom after I've cleaned, you know the rest...LOL Living with a man sucks ass when it comes to cleaning. Every day, I mean every day, DH takes the cocoa butter oil out of the shower and puts it on the counter to use it. There is always an oil spot left on the counter. We literally just had a text war about this 30 minutes ago, verbatim: Me - Stop putting the g@ddamn cocoa butter oil on the counter Him - Wow Me - Wow yourself, it leaves an oil spot on the counter every day Him - I love you too babygirl HA! Such is life. I do what Alyssa said, a maid comes 2x a month to deep clean and I fill in the blanks. She should come every week but I have a 1 bedroom apartment so that may be a little ridiculous...lol

Good luck with the outcome but family or not, I wouldn't go near there unless I was holding a picket sign...lol
  13. Stephanie they look really nice, and I *love* the "save room for...cake". Too cute!
  14. Wow Mo, seems like you've really bent over backwards and got the short end of the stick where your cousin is concerned! In your shoes, I wouldn't want to go to that same salon either. In fact, I probably wouldn't go. If you don't really care what dress you end up with then maybe they can pick what they like and let you know. If it's a brand/style you can get anywhere I would order it from another salon. That's just me, I have a problem patronizing a business that's done me wrong. I remember your story and that qualifies as a lifetime boycott...lol Sorry you're in this predicament (
  15. Wow...I hope this all gets straightened out. Even if it is a misunderstanding, a big misunderstanding, the lack of reply to your messages is really troubling. Thank goodness you paid by credit card so you have some kind of advocate. Good luck!
  16. Anyone who can roller blade while toting a pack of 10 calm pit bulls is doing something right....lol I used to watch it all the time, and the principles make sense. Dogs follow the leader and know who the leader is - and is not. I used to walk my dog and get nervous when another dog approached, and every time my dog would growl and try to get at the other dog. In applying some of what I learned on the show, I see a dog coming and tell myself nothing is going to happen because I'm walking the dog, not the other way around. It's gotten 90% better because animals are big on reading energy, and if my dog can tell I'm calm and cool she is more likely to be. Jessica that doesn't exactly apply to your situation, but maybe your pup is acting out as a result of the changing energy in your house? Try to wait it out, it may improve as things settle.

I wasn't on that boat but I saw the video and they didn't do the routines but they did have the mic and were joking around, talking to guests from the stage-like part in the front of the boat. They are really funny (as you know)! If you have a bunch of kids they'll totally be appropriate, and probably involve the kids if they aren't shy. I remember Nicole saying to let her know and I never did. I *think* the boat has the assigned crew and if you want they'll entertain, otherwise they just hang back. Side note - the crew is so awesome. My niece & nephew fell asleep on the boat ride there and their parents were feeling ill, so a crew member had both kids sleeping on his lap. The guy sat there, a kid on each leg, for at least 30 minutes. We have it on video, it was so sweet. I've been sick on their boat before and they washed me down/cleaned me up before I could even try to signal them...lol I can't say enough about how fantastic they are.
  18. I'm glad you guys can use it! Thankfully, none of our guests had an emergency while in PV but it eased their minds to have it in their rooms just in case.
  19. Whew! Lots of info!! I'm so happy it all went well for you. We LC brides love hearing this stuff because it brings us back, and the future brides get even more pumped. Can't wait for pics. Congrats Mrs. Chris!! Lorilou, I think she said she wouldn't stay at the Westin because it was too quiet for her....but I can't find that part now.
  20. It looks great. I like the quiz feature, I don't think I've seen that before. Nice!

  22. I don't know, but I figure they'll have to remove it? I'm not sure exactly what VA said to them, but I'm sure it wasn't pretty...lol

Not too shabby So excited! That sounds good to me Melissa! I'm excited for you and little jealous you get to see the Grand Canyon...it's on my "someday" list.
