  1. My wedding planner was the sh!t! Nicole at Vallarta Adventure Weddings. Totally pleasant, competant, and she made the whole process stress free and seamless. I left so many decisions up to her and everything was like I would have done it if I did it myself. We still keep in touch now and then and my wedding is over so she has no reason to, but she's just a great person. She only does Las Caletas weddings but here is the info: Tel. 52 (322) 297-1212 USA Toll Free 1-866-731-8152 Destination Wedding Planner for Puerto Vallarta Beach Weddings
  2. Very nice and you were such a gorgeous bride! You weren't lying, your wedding party was ginormous! Everyone looked awesome in white too )
  3. We had a keycard, there wasn't a hole for a lanyard in ours. We were in the suite wing too.

  5. Beautiful! So I should expect mine by like Thursday? LOL J/K I'm self-inviting a la Melissa. Great work, your guests will be very excited to receive those!
  6. I bet it is cheaper for them to leave the country than come to L.A. Can you imagine having a wedding here? It's almost a waste when you can get so much more for so much less elsewhere. My inlaws didn't offer anything and we didn't ask so that was that. My husband paid for the honeymoon just because he wanted to, but I doubt he knew that was part of a tradition...lol
  7. Study for that bar and come here when you need a break! Lots of good ideas here whether you go with Vegas or the beach house (or somewhere you haven't even thought of yet!). Happy planning )
  8. I just posted in the LC thread but wanted to give you the official I married in LC this past June. I could write an essay (shoot Ann and I could write an anthology...haha) but the LC thread has all of our ravings. Feel free to ask any questions you have. And yes, DO IT! You won't regret it and will come to appreciate how unique, and private, the place is. No spectators, the boat, the jungle, the beach, it's breathtaking. Happy planning )

There are candles everywhere! It's the coolest sight, they must have a small army going around LC lighting them...lol Quote: Originally Posted by halef1 Hey, I'm a newbie here but my fiance and I are thinking about getting married at LC at the end of the year - looking at December 29th! We've been chatting with Nicole who's great. Our biggest concerns have been the 1) lack of lighting at night and 2) backup plan if it rains (although I hear it's totally rare in December to rain). Any input? BTW, You guys have given so much good information but I'm guessing I'll still be asking questions in many many months to come! -Heather Nicole was my WC, she is awesome. (All of them are) They have covered areas in the event of rain, and Ann and I got married at the start of the rainy season and still got no rain. In December you should have no worries of rain. As everyone said there are tons of candles (even the bathrooms are candle lit) and I think once you're there you realize you wouldn't want it any other way. It makes this incredibly romantic place even more romantic. You can always bring in battery operated lanterns, we brought a few, but they are so not necessary.

Here's one of my favorites: quick, easy, relatively healthy... Orechiette - as much as you want to make Broccoli - the tops are best, but the stock works well too - as much as you want to add 2 cloves of garlic - chopped a healthy squeeze of anchovy past (probably 1/2 to 1 teaspoon) 3-5 Tablespoons of olive oil a pinch of red pepper flakes a pinch of salt grated (not shredded) parmesan cheese Boil water in a big pan - a good gallon or so. When its boiling, add the orrichette and set a timer for 6 minutes. Get everything else ready to go in the meantime. When the timer goes off, put the broccoli in the water - you're going to cook it at the same time as finishing the pasta. Four minutes later, pour the whole shebang into a colander. Save a bit of the water you used to boil the pasta for later. Put the pan back on the stove and put in the olive oil. When its hot, add the garlic and red pepper flakes, salt and anchovy. Stir it around a bit until the garlic toasts a bit - maybe 2 minutes. Put the pasta and broccoli back in the pan and toss to coat. Add the pasta water if you need a little more liquid to coat. Add a good amount of parmesan - if I use 1/2 pound of pasta, I use about 1/4 cup parmesan - and toss to mix. Serve it with additional parmesan. So yummy! I think I'm having it for dinner tonight. OMG how delicious does that sound? And I'm green with envy that you went to culinary school in Italy....sooooo lucky. It's funny because almost any pasta my Italian family makes starts with olive oil, garlic, and red pepper. Yours sounds great. Don't be afraid to share more recipes, I'm always on the hunt for pasta variations...yum!
  11. Very cool Yari! I remember how juiced I was after booking our honeymoon...how fun! And a great place to go celebrate!
  12. Don't anyone go feeling guilty because you have people in your life that want to help! In reading over this thread it does kind of seem that those who paid for it 100% are really proud (which is great) but it also seems that they are upset that other people didn't have to. Well that's how it reads anyways, sorry for being frank. And I'll say this again, some people who paid for the wedding themselves accepted large cash bonuses afterwards so what is the difference, really? You're still adults taking money from parents, you know? I don't think most people expect, or demand, someone to pay for their wedding but if it's something that has been custom from their experience, in their life, is it that unreasonable that they would suggest it? Some people never suggest it and it gets offered to them (like me). So I accepted the money in advance of the wedding instead of cashing the check afterward. Different strokes and they're all good )
  13. Damn it...I can't read this thread yet - it's only 5 here. I'm jealous (
  14. Welcome! You're in good company, our ROR brides are awesome. Happy planning )
  15. I guess you're all set! How exciting, have fun!!
  16. It will all work out, you're in the right place!

  18. Hmm...I don't know if there is an etiquette? I say do what you want. I would probably wear a flowy, simple dress but you can make it be whatever your vision is )
  19. Ooh I'm glad it went well. You sound very happy )
  20. Don't you hate that attitude? Good Lord, just take the money I'm paying you and keep your judgements in your head!! Stupid bridal people....why must so many of them be trolls?
  21. Me too! My DVR is set, with a 5 minute window on either end just in case...lol And I moved it to priority #1 on the timer list, trumping DH's Justice League and King of Queens...haha Yeah, I'm an Idol junkie! I like Fantasia too, she sure can sing. And Taylor just because he was original. At first I was mad when Kelly won but she sure showed me. I really like her now, but at first I didn't. (Remember that weak movie she made with Justin? I couldn't bear to watch..HA!) The countdown begins, we're in for some laughs tonight!
  22. So funny I found this because DH and I were talking about Honduras the other day. He said how everyone goes to the same places to vacation and why don't we go somewhere like Honduras or Guatemala. My first (and ignorant) reaction was "Why stop there, let's vacation in sunny San Salvador or Darfur" LOL No offense to anyone Salvadorean or Sudanese, I know people from both places and they won't even go back (well one of them is banned but that's another story). I looked online to humor him and found Roatan and it looks beautiful!! Although I know it is a poor country and your stories about the kids are sooo sad ( Looks like a great place to dive or just lounge on the beach, and I'm sure that tourist money is much needed.
