  1. I am sooooooooooooo happy you're going with Las Caletas, and you will never regret this decision. Be careful, some of us may pop down to PV, take the day tour, then hide when the boat leaves so we can wedding crash! HAHA!

  3. I say Jamaica or Cuba (since you're Canadian and are allowed in). Somewhere Caribbean I think would match what you are looking for )

  5. I offered the room with another guest option to the BM that was coming alone, and she said she would find someone to go with her. Surprise - she found the troll I mentioned above...lol I wish she would have stuck with her plan to go it alone! If I had nobody to bring I would rather go alone than room with a stranger though.
  6. Heck yeah that was strange! He was all in Paula's face...lmao!

I used to work with two deaf brothers and one of them just mouthed words with no sound, but the other sounded just like that guy. I felt really bad for him, he kind of sounded funny when he talked to. The guy in the cape, OMG, hilarious! And the green goblin girl, SCARY!! she'll definetly be victorious, lol! what about the star wars chick! She was SOOO weird, and she lives in the next town over from where I work, lol! That was the "go down moses" guy! He may have been part deaf, it did sound that way when he talked. The cape guy is a nut! No way the star wars chick lives near your job. She was a nut too! Watch out, you may see her around...haha
  8. I know! I had to look away when they laughed at him because he had that look of pain, like his feelings were hurt, and he really did his best. Poor guy. (it was awful though)
  9. LIE and say you already went, or your mom is flying in, it's better than telling her she is too insistent and it's not her wedding! LOL Or, as Lisa said, take someone with you and FMIL that has taste more similar to yours. That way you have more than one opinion to go on (and an ally if she starts to drive you mad!).
  10. This site has beautiful dresses for just such an occasion, from really casual to more fancy but still beach appropriate. I love their catalogue (reasonable pricing too!): casual wedding dress, informal , beach wedding dreses, I think they ship worldwide too )
  11. So funny...that rendition of "go down moses" had me in stitches. Wow!!
  12. I was a PV bride, married at Las Caletas and stayed at Dreams PV. It's a beautiful hotel to stay at even if you aren't marrying there. Happy planning )
  13. The best place to me is where I got married...lol I'm not familiar with Canada, but if you are concerned about prices for you or your Candian guests, you may want to see what destinations have more reasonable flights. If you have no specific place in mind I would list all of your wants then find a place that matches up to that. Do you want to stay at an all-inclusive resort or does it not matter? (i.e. I think Hawaii has only one). Geography - desert & beaches like Cabo, jungle and beaches like PV/RM Culture/Attractions - do you want somewhere with cool landmarks/history like the Carribean or Mayan Riviera? Do you like to dive, hike, fish, etc. Just some things to think about. Happy planning )

Check the Cabo and PV threads for oodles of info. I was a PV bride, let me know if I can help )
  15. LOL yeah I guess there could be drawbacks! I'm a nightowl by nature, so waking up and being alert early has always been hard for me. I took night classes in college as often as possible! One day I'll have to get a "real" job with normal hours so I'll enjoy this while it lasts. Sorry to hijack your Fiji thread )
  16. How cute is that! Pre-K must be fun. So do you teach children of Americans abroad? And yes, it's almost 1am in California. I work nights in front of several computers, thus the reason I'm always here when few other people are...lol

  18. Ahhh, the classic guest list dilemna. I know there are weddings where everyone has a +1 but that adds up fast, especially if your wedding is in the States. For us, the per person price wasn't too high so it wasn't a money thing, we just felt like we only wanted people there that we knew. Now, the tricky thing with a DW is that you are asking someone to travel, and flying for hours into a foreign country is something that some people may not want to do alone. We didn't tell anyone not to bring a guest, and in the end there were only 3 "dates" we didn't know. There should have been 4 - a BM brought a female guest that was a straight bit@h. We figured this out the first night we met her at the bachelor/ette combo party. We uninvited her to the WD and wedding because we didn't like her attitude. It was like, enjoy Mexico but we don't want your negative energy at our wedding and we can do that, so peace out! Luckily the feeling was mutual so it went smoothly, but DH & Co. were fully prepared to wait at the dock and not let her board the boat to the wedding - seriously! Maybe tell your guest/s it is for close friends and family only, but expect resistance and maybe even some bad blood. It's your event so handle it like you want to...good luck!
