  3. This is me not laughing and telling you *giggle giggle* that the dress is stupid and your ass isn't fat! Seriously are you really stuck? Stand in the bathroom with a hot shower running and see if you can steam it off......

Looking forward to reading more stories. When I first came here I felt the same, everyone had it all together and all I had was the place and the man...lol Stay relaxed and take things with a grain of salt, it worked for me. You'll get any help you need here. Happy planning
  7. Hi! I honeymooned at the ROR June and it rained briefly the first day. It rained the last 3 hours we were there, on the way to the airport, and was still raining when we took off. This was approximately from 9am to 2 pm if I recall correctly. The forecast said rain everyday but it was blue skies and no rain 98% of the time. We got in the pool in the rain and had a blast, so it won't ruin everything. It would make me nervous too but try not to worry, I bet your ceremony will be fine
  8. Yikes! They don't include chair covers? That's a lot of $ IMO but I've never priced them so maybe it's normal. At that rate, I would have a beach blanket wedding...get some nice blankets and umbrellas and have the guests chill out there, the ceremony is super short anyways! LOL I think we have other moon palace brides, I hope they can help

I spent the morning having breakfast with all the ladies (ladies only breakfast ) and then me and my bridesmaids began getting ready. I also had a massage to calm my nerves. That was the best massage ever and so worth it. My nerves were crazy!!! HA! Nothing like real life to get in the way of a plan...lol Wouldn't you have gone crazy being drunk in the room without him? It may have worked out for the better. BTW I also advocate the wedding day massage. Fabulous! I think there is anticipation no matter what. I wouldn't have been able to sleep without him and probably would have been on the phone to his room all night, so I'm glad we were together. Plus I was away from him the whole day of and that drove us crazy enough! I guess we aren't good at seperation
  10. Well at least you know you aren't crazy, right? And how much of med school did the doctors at that other joint sleep through? Google can probably diagnose better than them, fu@kers! It's uncomfortable but count your lucky stars that is easy to fix. Now drink lots of water and get rid of that sucker!
  11. Ours was like yours, more of a party than a reception. There are inexpensive scene setters from oriental trading or party stores that will add to the background, like these: Papel picado sets the scene perfectly too...you can make your own or order it from a party store: Also, you can order corona, sol, tecate, or other Mexican beer signs online for relatively cheap (the metal ones, not the electric). We put small pails of Mexican candy out on the tables, like mango pops, de la rosas, pulparindos, etc. And canels gum, the little square chewing gums. We hired 2 people to set up a taco stand and cook tacos to order for guests. That was a fun touch and very Mexican.
  12. I'm not sure which is best, but I went to Germaine's many years ago and was very happy with it. It was on a pretty beach and the food was good, I don't know how to critique a luau but it worked for me...lol
  13. In June the sun sets later so that is perfect, and about the same timeline Ann and I had. A few of our guests stayed at the Sheraton and were very pleased. Happy planning!
  14. I'm so late on this, but I would also suggest buying the bulk ground turkey so you can incorporate the seasoning better and make them any size you want. I would use worcestershire, grated onion & garlic, salt and pepper or hot sauce. You could even mix in some crumbled blue cheese or any grated cheese. yum! Or soy sauce, grated onion and garlic, a little honey, and grill some pineapple slices to put on top. I would use gruyere or swiss cheese but anything goes! You want them moist since there is little fat so make sure to use some sort of liquid like the worcestershire, soy sauce, or even chicken/veggie broth. Just a little makes a difference. Grating the onion also adds moisture. Now I want turkey burgers...lol
  15. Welcome! I've never been to Dreams Cabo but we have lots of those brides here who can give you perspective. I stayed at Dreams PV and it was lovely. Since it's on a cove the beach is private, and it's 5 minutes from the malecon but feels a world away. It's an awesome place, I hope it works out.
  16. We married in early June as well and it did not rain once. It was hot and humid but not unbearable. Our our wedding was at 6PM and I think that makes a huge difference. I would strongly advise against an outdoor wedding in the mid-day because it would be on the verge of miserable for you and your guests to sit in the sun. I think most people would expect the heat since it is summer in Mexico like Ann said. All of our pre-wedding info stressed the heat factor and most guests found the heat and humidity to be far less extreme than they thought, maybe because we put such an emphasis on it? June is beautiful in PV, I say go for it!

Yes, there are tables and reps from different tour companies set up to the side of the lobby all day. From what we could tell they all offer the same tours, but we went to the table that had the name of the company we booked our honeymoon with.
  18. Are you set on Riviera Maya? Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta is the most secluded wedding site I've seen so far (other than renting a villa). The beach and facilities are completely private and only accessible by boat. I had the same concern as you because I didn't want onlookers and the only people there were our guests and the staff.
  19. Sarah that does sound neat, good opposing perspective. BTW you worked out on your wedding day? I feel fat just reading that...lol Good for you! I also suggest some alone time if you can swing it. Mine was only for an hour, a few hours before my wedding, but my BMs gave me my space to go off into the jungle alone, write my vows, and reflect. It was a great calming experience.
  20. Jilly the chocolate soy does sound good, she probably won't know the difference. Hey, maybe I can trick my husband that way? LOL
  21. Thanks, Alyssa! I'll put your and Heidi's suggestions on my grocery list and do some taste testing )
  22. Yes I do have a TJ's down the street, I'll check that out. I don't like the vanilla rice milk either....I just want to enjoy cereal again, you know? *pity party*
  23. I just read that 2nd article, very interesting! Good old U.S. subsidized powdered milk programs! Wow! Remember as kids how they pushed the milk on us in those commercials, "I drank milk so I grew up big and strong"? Will said he drank glasses of milk everyday after school because of that, and it helped him bulk up for pee-wee football. I wonder if that bulk was cow hormones preparing him for the 4 stomachs....lol Nowadays it's the milk mustache celebrity ads. It would be interesting to look into the politics of the industry. You know how pharmaceutical companies & medicine have a dark side, is there a dark side to the cow milk business?
