  1. Good point as well. We'll probably end up on the strip. They are practically giving away rooms at the Hard Rock & Palms right now so that's why we considered them, but I think being on the strip/monorail path would be easier on everyone going
  2. Consider yourself lucky! I had a BM in town who would have gone but I didn't want her to. I went alone from start to finish. People will try to sway you, I had that prom dress experience and I didn't want that stress for my wedding dress. Have fun!!
  3. Michelle thanks so much for the info and updates! That is helpful stuff to know )
  4. That martini sounds great! And the Blue Hawaiian is a classic. Either would be really festive. Sometimes weddings make light drinkers drink more than usual, so I would plan for 3-4 drinks/hour. Like Aimee said it's better to have too much than sending someone on a wine run midway into the reception. Plus in Hawaii everything is so expensive and AI's are scarce, this may be the only chance your guests get at all-inclusive drinking LOL and they may call your bluff and take advantage of it!
  5. That's just awful Yari. Wow! Do you have another hotel in mind? Let me know if you need help finding places, so sorry
  6. I think my people are drunks too because I would at least triple that - but my Italian family drinks wine like water so it could be us. For the "average" drinking crowd I would go heavier on the beer, but if you have a wine crowd do the opposite. You could do a really cool signature drink to match your color scheme, that would be festive!
  7. That dress is pretty! Oh this is fun Becks, my girlfriend and I play this game...I could do this all day...lol This girl looks completely frightened and/or sick to her stomach: Ouch, is she alright? This one makes me nervous...lol Sad and hungry? On the happiest day of her life!
  8. For those who have stayed at the Hard Rock or Palms, is the fact that they are off the strip a huge deal? I.E. would we regret that we had to catch a cab coming and going, or is it a fairly easy thing/short ride to catch a cab?
  9. Gosh I don't really remember, but I think the package was about $5k? Then 35 people at whatever they charge per person....drawing a blank....but I'm pretty sure it was less than $10k for the actual LC fees which include boat, ceremony, reception, open bar, bonfire, dance floor, etc. Oh and $70 or so per BM I took early with me the day of. If you look around you'll find that it is really a steal compared to how resorts nickel and dime you. Not to mention how laid back LC is. You can have a guest go back to the buffet and make as many plates as he/she wants. At most receptions the food is priced per plate so what you are served is all you get. Plus the open bar is included, not an upgrade option.

    Hello hello

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement! I married at Las Caletas and we have several wonderful LC brides here. Check out our thread, it will answer lots of questions and may bring up things you hadn't considered yet: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1775 Happy planning...do you mean January 2009?

I think it's about 30-40 minutes if I recall correctly, it's closer than Las Caletas. I would ask your WC (is it Nicole?) about arranging transportation there if you want to go early, I believe VA does a tour there too....but you can probably have someone else take you before the crowds for a small fee.
  14. Very interesting and fast results, the reviews online look pretty good too.
  15. I've not heard of Fluidity, I'll look into that further...thanks I do like Pilates, in fact I have a dvd I like that is still packed from moving but I need to get it out again. I do want to get into the actual ballet moves again, but that and pilates would be excellent!
  16. I've been using the rice dream (organic original) in cereal for the past few days and it's pretty darn good. I still haven't opened the almond milk but I'll report back when I do
  17. Yep, it keeps you out of trouble alright and you do make great friends. I didn't really find trouble until I quit! DH says the same thing about football, and we often have the "which is the more difficult workout" debate. Dance is so underestimated! I love when the men on Dancing with the Stars are exhausted and sweating during rehearsal because it shows how strenuous dance is!
  18. I will let you know what I think! Dance is dear to my heart too and I want to get back into it, minus the performance and costumes...lol
  19. Well I'm about to order the NYC ballet workout, despite mixed reviews, it still seems worth a try. It has to be better than the nothing I'm doing now..lol I'll see how it goes.....
  20. Try starting here, this should get you on the road to help: Texas House of Representatives
  21. Welcome! Have you made any inquiries to the resorts you mentioned yet? Maybe you can start by doing that to see if your date is available and that may narrow it down some. Good luck!!
