  1. I would like to thank all the little people who read my posts and still like me.....haha Omg you guys, can I put this on my resume?! As strange as it seems that you honored me for talking too much, potentially crashing your wedding, and drinking beer...I am totally flattered! Thank you I agree with the other winning selections, you're all freakin' awesome! (TammyB I swear you'll have the most kids, the irony is too good!) And I couldn't be in better company at a kegger (love you girls!) You'll get your pic Tammy, we aren't shy so when we all meet up with a camera and a keg it's on!! (that's DJ Jason on the ones and twos & us all dancing in sync...haha)
  2. You know you are addicted when you're having a perfectly good time and you excuse yourself to check the forum, God forbid you're missing a hot topic. You know you're addicted when you are at someone else's house and ask to use their internet...and it isn't to check email ~~~~~~~~~~~~ OMG if you only knew how many times I've had to explain how I know someone who told me something..."this girl I know from my wedding forum" is so not a credible source to most people...lol It sounds like I'm a shut-in with no friends in real life. Too funny!
  3. I'm not familiar with Addison's disease but I hope he gets the clearance to travel to your wedding. As for choosing a DW before you know if he can go, don't feel bad. I think many of us have/had someone near and dear who couldn't be there for reasons beyond our control. It happened to us. I think a wedding should be where the people getting married want it, just because of what a marriage ceremony symbolizes. However we choose to take the sacred vows, whether in town or out of town, is a very personal decision. I really hope he can make it because I know it would mean the world for him to be there, but if he cannot, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure he would want his son to be happy....best wishes )
  4. I think I've seen her working downtown! LOl j/k but is that supposed to be a wedding ensemble? It's a pretty outfit in a costume kind of way, but hmmmmmm....don't know about a wedding?
  5. Love them! What a steal and, yes, finding their sizes at Ross was a miracle My flower girl's dress came from Target at around the same price, can't beat a bargain (that they probably will grow out of soon anyway LOL). Great find!
  6. Cute pics guys Other suggestions for the future, maybe something DW related like pic of where your ceremony or honeymoon was or will be?
  7. Nylalany, I hope someone can answer your questions, I'm not sure myself... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For any of our TA's...I've had 2 issues with my TA, maybe you can clarify? 1. The package price for air/hotel/transfers I get from her is roughly $100 more than what I've found online, at a few different sites. I also got an online quote that is cheaper with private transfers as opposed to the group van type the TA quoted me - do you think that is her commission factored in? No big deal but it got me curious as to how commission works because she isn't doing it for free. 2. I want to fly into airport A, stay a few nights, drive to point B, stay a few nights, and fly home out of airport C (which is closest to point . The TA told me I can't do that, I need to do RT out of the same airport. After little investigating I found that I can book the flights I want myself online or directly through the airlines, so is it that her suppliers don't do that? Just wondering why she wouldn't book the flights I asked for, even if she had to call the airline directly rather than go through her wholesaler. Gosh after reading that I may need a new TA....wink wink Just trying to clarify, thanks )

    Hello

Welcome, PV is wonderful. Happy planning
  9. Welcome! I'm not familiar with Dreams Tulum but if you check the RM section, or search "dreams tulum" in the upper right search box you'll find lots of info and other brides from your resort. Happy planning
  10. I agree, tell her what you told us. That's the best reason to pick a MOH. I asked my MOH over the phone because she lives far and there was no way I could wait for her to get a card in the mail, I was too excited...lol I told her how much she means to my life (with examples & such) and it went really well. (except she was driving and had to pull over because she said she was going to crash...lol)
  11. Welcome! Congrats on a great decision, you'll love LC. The thread Ann linked has all of our tips and ravings, if you have more questions feel free to post there and we will be happy to help )

Some of the best gifts weren't on the registry, but the lenox martini glass/pitcher set we got is gorgeous and we would never buy it for ourselves just to drink out of Also we got a home theater system with surround speakers and a sub-woofer, it's crazy loud. I also love the le creuset cookware/casseroles...so great to cook with! Use the most - A deLonghi espresso/coffee machine (it rocks!!) or a block set of Henckels kitchen knives, they make fantastic knives and we use them pretty much daily...um silverware and casual china too Iffy about but glad we got - george forman next grilleration grill, the plates are removable for washing and the grill size is fairly large...also a cusinart blender...I never cared/knew about blender quality but now I can't go back to less! Use the least - Vera Wang china...still in boxes, see my return the china thread...lol Wish we registered for - more man-friendly stuff..maybe electronics?
  15. I know, kind of makes me wish I were cooking this year...hehe
  16. This year DH is cooking for me the night we get back from our reggae weekend extravaganza...don't know what, it's a surprise! I have an excellent book of sensual food recipes that makes tasty and elegant food with ingredients that traditionally get lovers in the mood Here are a few simple ones, if you have a specific ingredient in mind I can look it up. (recipes and descriptions by Isabel Allende) Corbina a la creme (can be made with salmon, conger eel, or any other firm-fleshed fish) 1 pound salmon 1 lemon, juiced 1/4 cup vodka 1/2 cup cream 2 sprigs fresh rosemary 2 tbls butter 1/2 cup toasted shredded almonds 1 pinch nutmeg salt/pepper to taste Wash fish and pat dry. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Place in buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with the vodka & rosemary, dot with butter. Cover with foil and cook in a medium oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove and add the cream, nutmeg, and almonds. Return to oven, uncovered, for another minutes. Filet Mignon Belle Epoque (This sauce is divine and the filets never fail. Buy the best; in this case it's a good investment that will pay generous dividends) 2 cups good red wine 1/2 onion, minced 1/2 carrot, minced 2 chicken livers 3 anchovy filets 2 tbls cream 2 large filets mignon 1 tsp olive oil salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste Cook the wine, onion, and carrot for 15 minutes. Place in food processor with livers & anchovy filets; blend. Return to pot and cook 15 minutes more, stirring. Lower the heat, add the cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir, and keep warm over the lowest heat possible. Cook filets according to your liking, pour the sauce over the filets and serve immediately. Madame Bovary (Flaubert's frivolous heroine inspired this one) 1 heaping cup mixed cherries, strawberries, raspberries, & red currants 3 tbls sugar 3 tbls cream cheese 1 tsp grated lemon zest 4 ladyfingers, crushed 2 tbls kirsch 1/2 banana, sliced Pit the cherries and add to the remaining fruit with the sugar. Cook for 8 minutes. Remove, drain reserving juice, and set aside to cool. Beat the cream cheese with a fork and add the lemon zest and ladyfingers. Add the kirsch and juice from the fruit, stirring to a smooth cream. Spoon into goblets and top with the red fruit. Use the banana slices to decorate your dessert. Peach Delight (evocative; they resemble breasts) 1 large ripe peach, peeled 2 scoops lime ice/sorbet 2 maraschino cherries 1 tbls maraschino cherry liquid 1 cup pink champagne Cut the peach in half and discard the pit. Place each half in a champagne goblet. Fill each goblet with a scoop of the lime ice, decorate with a cherry and a little cherry liquid, and fill with champagne. Serve immediately.

  18. The boat ride is so different for everyone, as you noticed. We had sick people on the way over, but nobody was sick on the way back. I will say the people who got sick didn't take dramamine for what it's worth. (expect for my MOH who took 3x too much & we think the overdose made her sick..lol) There is a way to get there by a smaller boat but you'd have to ask how it works. Typically I've heard it's only to bring over someone early, or for emergencies. Also from my experience, the smaller the boat the more likely to get sick...but maybe that's just me? It isn't impossible to wear heels but I wouldn't recommend it. The pathways are stone/uneven in parts, and sand+heels is always tough. If there must be heels/elevation I would say a wedge is better. I don't think any shoes would poke through the mats but I'm thinking it may be akward/uncomfortable to walk on them in heels. The barefoot on the beach thing really adds to the experience imo. One of my BMs always wears 3+inch heels and was worried about it, but she ended up loving being barefoot. As for the tables, it appears that they have extended the covered area since we were there. I like being under the roof, but I'm sure the beach tables are nice too. The WCs or the more recent brides may be able to let you know about the expanded seating
  19. ok Melissa you are way to into this...lol j/k that's funny!!
  20. Cool story, I love your proposal and your grandma's stone in the ring, that's too cute
