  1. I am an Operations Supervisor for a nationwide marketing company. They used to pay me to plan my wedding...haha now that I'm married... Technically I sit in front of computer screens and manage staffing levels to coincide with national spots, monitor real-time call volume & data, write employee reviews, and make sure people are at their desks taking calls. I talk to irate people who don't get what we do, and equally irate clients who pay a lot and want perfection. I'm in charge of a lot but it's second nature to me now so it's a breeze. Basically I either read or sit on BDW and try to look like I'm monitoring something when an employee comes my way...lol I also control the dial on our XM radio (you know, the important stuff) and make sure nothing catches fire or blows up during my watch

I can't wait to see if I was close. Yep, that's what it sounds like to me. I'm a little protective of the forum so I try to remember that and not get too defensive (thus I left it at the "easy killer" comment...lol) but I try to keep it civil and not read too far into things because, this is only 50% of my life...haha (when it should really only be like 10..shhh!) Looking at it from the outside in, I would say that's what it seems she meant. I guess she can speak for herself though but I think you're right Morgan.
  3. That's funny! I would definitely come too if we weren't so far apart )
  4. Great review Glenda! I worked with a guy from Boston who had the exaggerated accent for real...I used to love to hear him speak...lol He left L.A. because he was too Boston to live here and missed it terribly. Does NY have drinking laws? Here you can't buy liquor between 2-6am...like that's the only time you can get drunk and act a fool..lol You can actually go to an "after-hours" bar between 2-6 and hang out and at 6 the alcohol comes back...I'd rather just drink at home at 3am As for the pizza, I know you NY people are serious about your pizza, never been to NY but I'd love to try some. In L.A. there is a pizza place where tap water - yes tap water - is brought in from NY to make the dough...the owner is from NY and swears that the reason pizza sucks everywhere else is because it isn't made with NY water....interesting, right? As an Oakland A's fan I must say to hell with both the Yankee's and the Sox...now I'm out before you guys posse up and put a hurting on me )

  7. No but I read a book that made me want to, but I've never tried. I'm interested in knowing other people's experiences with them.
  8. Your houses are all so pretty!! You are such great decorators. I just live in an apartment, nothing festive or cool. I guess I like my kitchen best because if 2 people pass through they aren't bumping in to each other like other places I've lived...haha

LOL People are so funny!

But I sure can think it Gosh this lady at my job gave me patchouli body oil & incense as a secret santa gift one year, and I hate that smell!!! She's all "Once you said you loved patchouli so I knew this was for you when I saw it" and I know I didn't say I like that stuff, it gives me a lump in my throat...but I thanked her just to be grateful. What was I supposed to say "No, you were wrong. That smells like ass and I won't use it" LOL How akward is that?

To us right now buying a $20 bottle of wine is out of the question. That's not snotty at all! That's the right spirit to have

  13. Even though your party is small I think you can pull off a casual reception. What if you said something like "after dinner you are invited to join us at Seagrape to continue the celebration"? You can keep it low-key with your ipod and if people want to dance they can do it right there and if they want to hang out and relax they can too. Then whoever is game can go to the disco when it opens (I think at 11pm). Is there an option of adding an activity in at Seagrape, like a bonfire? Or can they set your cake up there and after dinner you all can go there for cake cutting/coffee/etc?

She was floating on a raft thingy in the pool w/ a drink and I was there w/ my DH and kept just staring at her 'cause she looked familiar. Finally I got up the guts to ask her if she was ...well,her! And she was and we laughed and talked about it, introduced our Dh's and all that. Pretty normal really except that I don't even know her! ROFL!!! Well I hope I looked hot in my bikini...it's a dream, right? hehe Thank God I was nice...that dream could have gone any direction! The funny thing is that's kind of how I met Ann. DH & I were at Dreams drinking in the shadows on the beach one night, and there was this lady with a group of people and she kept taking lots of pictures. I told DH "I wonder if that's Ann..it kinda looks like her but I can't tell." Of course he thought I was nuts and told me not to walk up and ask this stranger her name...but then I said "she is taking way too many pictures to not be here for a big event". So I said screw it I'm asking, and approached her and sure enough it was Ann. Then we introduced our other halves and I monopolized her time by talking about my wedding the day before...lol Don't know why we didn't take pictures because we both had cameras, but I was quite tipsy and on my way to a club. Funny!!

These cheap wines are a teenager's dream...what, I can get totally plastered for $2.25? Sweet! haha BTW Jean-Marcus did we used to party in the 90's?
  16. Wow, glad that was resolved!! We have Time Warner now for internet and their customer service has been so bad that we are up to 2 months free...if they mess up our bill again we may not have to pay until May...lol I hate how depending where you live you can only go with certain companies. Once I moved 2 miles down the street and had to get all new home phone, internet, cable, gas, and electricity providers because of the zones here...that's crazy! What happened to freedom of choice?
  17. Sometimes people just suck, don't they? I think your idea is wonderful and a DW is not traditional so thinking outside of the box makes sense to me. Don't second guess yourself. It isn't your fault these haters aren't as cool and creative as you LOL. I love "man of honor" like Sarah did...that's too cool!
  18. I'm not familiar with Cabo but the search box will be your new best friend (above, right). Happy planning )

  20. I think you have to consider the source. To some people spending $15-20 on wine they aren't drinking is a lot, some people just don't drink wine and don't know how to buy it, and then there are the cheapskates...lol But if you made it halfway through the bottle it isn't that bad, right?
  21. I married there June 2nd of last year and I know you'll love it! A day time wedding will be so pretty there, I'm a teeny bit jealous...lol The night time is great too but you get to have that emerald water as a backdrop...ahhh Read our LC Brides thread and happy planning!
  22. I wore barefoot sandals to my Las Caletas wedding...they were a hit )
  23. We were there in June 2007 and didn't have a theft issue but as they say, it happens all over. Just travel smart (read the thread Morgan shared for tips) and give yourself the best chance.
  24. Gorgeous pics!! I've always wanted to go to Sedona (I subscribe to the Sedona Journal, my kind of hippie types live there haha). Looks like you had a wonderful trip!
  25. Gosh Becks I don't know! As others mentioned there can be problems anywhere and your resort does get good feedback from what I recall. For us all planning requests/inquiries were handled promptly and courteously. There was no arguing or negotiating ever, so I want to say run at the first sign of trouble, but maybe I'm biased. No help here, but try to go with your gut and good luck )
